We are looking to recruit an energetic, proactive and relentlessly organised person to coordinate, manage and deliver the Sickle Cell Family Retreat. This is an educational and exciting holistic experience for around 30 families who have at least one child aged between 6 and 15 years old who lives with sickle cell disorder.

The 2025 Family retreat will take place from Friday 29th August to Sunday 31st August 2025 at Whitemoor Lakes near Lichfield. The post holder must be available on these dates and be willing to stay overnight.

The retreat takes around 200 hours to plan (including post-retreat wrap up and evaluation). Delivery, which is in addition to these hours, happens over three days.

This role involves overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the Family Retreat, from planning and logistics to on-the-ground management and post-event reporting. Responsibilities include managing the applications process to ensure a broad spread of  families are able to attend, retreat promotion and preparation, budgeting, coordinating volunteers, on-site management during the retreat, and evaluation and reporting.

The role centres on delivering a well-organised, safe, and impactful retreat experience for families, handling everything from planning to event weekend leadership and follow-up.  Full details are in the Job description and person specification

This is mainly a home based role, with occasional meetings in the London office (NW10), and a stay during the event on site at Whitemoor Lakes.

About Tender

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

Role Purpose

The main purposes of the Projects Coordinator role are to:

• Coordinate the delivery of Tender’s educational programmes to and for children and young people in schools and youth settings in East England (with an initial focus on Norfolk)

Main responsibilities

Project delivery

We are looking to recruit a Retail Supervisor to join our team based at our Midlands site. You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis working 21 hours per week (7 hours per day on any 3 days out of the 7-day week, including weekends, bank holidays and early mornings / evenings, as necessary). Purpose of the Retail Supervisor role:

You will be supervising day to day retail operational activity and ensuring the provision of consistently high standards of customer care to actively support the strategic priorities of the Museum. The role will help to maximise the commercial return from the Museum’s retail, commercial experiences and supporting operations and delivering an excellent visitor experience.

Key responsibilities of our Retail Supervisor include:

• Supervise all operational retail staff and day to day retail activities
• Provide high standards of customer care through pro-active and re-active engagement with visitors and ensure the Retail Team does likewise

• Use all visitor interactions as an opportunity to promote additional income generation and to drive sales to maximise turnover

What we are looking for in our Retail Supervisor:

The Finance and Administrative Project Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and administrative efficiency of our projects in the DRC. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including budget management, financial reporting, and compliance with donor requirements. Additionally, the role includes supporting partner NGOs in their organisational development, ensuring they meet donor requirements, and providing guidance on financial management. The officer will also be involved in procurement, travel logistics, and the publication of financial information. 

This role is pivotal in maintaining strong relationships with funders and partners, contributing to the overall mission of RFUK to protect rainforests and support Indigenous Peoples and local communities. 

Location: London (hybrid), France (remote) or Democratic Republic of Congo (remote/hybrid)  

Candidates must have a pre-existing right to work in one of these countries. Please note RFUK is unable to cover any relocation costs. 

Salary: GBP 33,835 in the UK / EUR 32,042 in France / USD $41,395 in DRC 

Please note that all salary amounts are gross and exclusive of employee contributions and taxes. Variances in salary amounts are due to different employer costs. The DRC salary figure applies to DRC nationals only, as expats are subject to additional 25% tax.  

RFUK operates a fixed salary grid, and salaries are non-negotiable.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and a detail-oriented professional with a background in financial management and administrative support, particularly within the context of international development or charity work. Excellent written and spoken fluency in both English and French is a non-negotiable requirement to ensure that you’re able to effectively communicate and collaborate with our diverse teams and partners.

Your experience should include managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and producing high-quality financial reports. You should be well-versed in working with local NGOs, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and supporting their organisational development.

The Birmingham Programme Coordinator will be responsible for managing a caseload of up to seven partner schools, attending and coordinating weekly tutoring sessions, developing relationships with pupils, school staff and volunteer tutors and collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. This role plays a crucial part in overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring sessions to ensure effective and impactful programme delivery.

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage and effectively communicate with all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; leading weekly face to face and online tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
• Responsible for overseeing the quality of both face to face and online tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers.
• Update and maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and end of programme surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators.

Salary: £26,368 per annum 

Contract and hours: Permanent, full-time. We offer flexible hours with 9.30-4 as core hours. A
full working week is 37.5 hours.

The role of Supporter Care Officer is a key post in the organisation working to maximise CLAPA’s income from the community.
