This post will manage trust income in line with donor requirements, identifying and building relationships with new prospects and submitting high quality and engaging reports and proposals. You will feel real ownership over your work and need to be self-starting, flexible and hungry to grow with the charity.
The position will:
- Write compelling funding applications and grant reports to trusts and foundations at 5- and 6-figure level
- Grow multi-year restricted and unrestricted income from existing and new donors and support the growth of overall income from £1.25m to £1.9m annually in next 3 years

The client is currently working with 33 schools and 33 churches in developing discipleship pathways for children and young people in Bolton. As part of an exciting new phase of the project, they are looking to appoint a Chaplaincy Assistant to support the chaplaincy teams within three Bolton CE Secondary schools (within the Bishop Fraser Trust MAT) and to support a local parish in growing their youth ministry.
The Chaplaincy Assistant will support the development of Christian discipleship pathways for young people within school and parish contexts. As part of their role, the Chaplaincy Assistant will work alongside other Chaplaincy Assistants and School Chaplains within the Bishop Fraser Multi Academy Trust to create new opportunities for spiritual growth. The Chaplaincy Assistant will have many opportunities for training and development, as well as the creative freedom to launch new initiatives for young people. You will be the commercial expert for your assigned 'place' in the UK. Providing expert advice and support to the place-based Associate Director across all stages of business development and management. From capturing intelligence through to developing and delivering successful proposals/tenders and lifecycle contract management.
You will work with health and social care sector commissioners to establish effective relationships and to maximise income from existing and new services and generate service innovation for the charity. You will be supported by 1-2 Business Leads (dependent on your assigned area).
This role contributes directly to growth in Marie Curie through the management of proposals, tenders and funding applications, following standard processes for developing business case, contract terms approval and risk assessment. You will be solutions focused and well versed in providing operational leadership in a similar environmental, with a good understand of the complexities and challenges that face a youth/community organisation such as RPT. You will ensure the wellbeing and safety of all stakeholders and staff and be able to demonstrate experience of having done this previously in a leadership role.
