We are looking for an experienced Senior Stakeholder Communications Officer to join our Communications and Engagement Team.  You will seek out, capture and write compelling stories reflecting activities across our organisation and you will also work with our Education Directorate as a communications business partner.

You will be joining us at an exciting time of strategic development for our charity, becoming an important part of our journey with autistic people and their families to create a society that works for them.

This is a permanent role working 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

Our Finance team is looking to recruit a Finance Officer to join our Accounts Payable (AP) team for a six month fixed term contract and support the work and transactions that British Heart Foundation (BHF) perform for us to fund lifesaving science.
 
As an Accounts Payable Finance Officer, you'll support the team and take responsibility for delivering a high-quality service in terms of timely, accurate and efficient entry of BHF expenditure onto our central accounting system. Working on data capture, you will have knowledge of IPOS queue management.

You'll ensure you achieve key performance indicators and individual targets agreed upon and set by the AP Team leader, ensuring that all transactions are coded and authorised to meet month end deadlines and meet agreed service levels.

The AP team provides a high level of customer service, ensuring colleagues and suppliers are kept updated in the process and that the payment process is as smooth as possible, so you’ll effectively manage your workload and escalate complex issues to the team lead.

Understanding the needs of customers, you’ll raise the profile of finance through provision across the AP team of best-in-class service both internally and externally.

 

Working arrangements

Please note, this is a part-time role working 4 days (28 hours). This is for a 6-month FTC.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

About you 
 

You’ll have previous experience within accounts payable or be someone wanting to get into Finance with strong organisational skills, able to pick up tasks quickly and with ease.

With excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, you’ll be able to build strong working relationships within Finance and across the BHF and be comfortable communicating finance information to non-finance colleagues. The role involves dealing with internal & external customers via email and over the phone, so you’ll be confident communicating in both conversation and writing.

To excel in the role you will have:

• AP experience: A strong understanding and experience of BACs, invoicing, reconciliation, finance administration, and Account Payable processes. Familiarity with HMRC requirements for VAT and payments within the UK banking system, and a good knowledge of GDPR.
• Proficient in IT and financial systems: Excellent IT skills including MS Excel and financial application software packages. 
• Problem-solving and analytical skills: Outstanding attention to detail with an analytical approach to data. Strong problem-solving skills with a logical and methodical approach to identifying and resolving issues independently.
• Team player with a can-do attitude: A self-starter who is proactive and a good team player. Exhibits a can-do attitude and is able to manage workload with direction from the team lead.
• The role is working within a high-volume, fast-paced team, so you’ll have excellent time management and organisational skills.

We're looking for a highly motivated ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to work across Derbyshire. The role will support people aged 18 and over who have experienced sexual abuse or rape at any point. The successful candidate with join our friendly, professional and passionate team, working across Derbyshire remotely and in person.

· At least one year’s experience in managing complex client cases

· Experience of building relationships with partner services and other professionals

The Person

We are looking for a skilled trainer who has experience of working in the sexual violence sector or an aligned field and has knowledge and understanding of sexual violence and its impact’ to join us in this critical work in preventing ongoing sexual harm. The Role

- To research, develop and deliver a programme of sexual violence practitioner training for delivery in single and multiagency settings through a range of blended learning formats.
- To support the development and delivery of a programme of psychosocial education groups for survivors of sexual violence.
- To support the team is completing assessments for clients accessing the service.
- Collaborate with a range of multiagency partners to ensure the most appropriate pathway of support for the individual survivor.
- Advocate on behalf of survivors of sexual violence to ensure they can have access to a range of services based on need.
- Ensure all risk and safeguarding processes and procedures are followed.
- To promote awareness of training and group offerings for survivors with a range of multiagency partners
- To undertake evaluation and outcome meetings and data reporting to ensure continuous development of training products delivered.
- To manage booking process and associated administration for training delivery
- Represent and promote WMRSASC in meetings and events

This role is based in Worcester. The role holder will be expected to travel across West Mercia as and when there is a need.

We are looking for a Chemicals Policy Officer (or Senior Policy Officer) to help develop and promote environmental policy on behalf of our 82 environmental charity members.

The Government has promised to halt the decline of nature by 2030. To succeed, the Government must take a stronger grip on chemicals pollution, from pesticide pollution to toxic chemicals in consumer products. Not a single river in the UK is in good chemical condition and not a single corner of the Earth is free from man-made chemical contamination.

Your job will be to convene some of England’s best environmental policy experts to agree bold and effective shared policy positions in all aspects of chemicals management, from licensing and restrictions to monitoring and enforcement. There will be lots of thinking, lots of writing, and lots of opportunities to shape shared campaigns. You will also play a key role in delivering those messages to key influencers in Government and in Parliament, building powerful partnerships with other sectors along the way.

So, we are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, the ability to listen and negotiate, and a reasoned and convincing style of written and verbal communication.

This is a demanding role (lots of adverts say this, to be clear: here it is true) - and is suited to passionate, ambitious individuals who enjoy being busy, stretched and working hard (actually – again these are not just trite advert lines; this opportunity is only appropriate for those for whom this is accurate!). 

Associate roles are paid at the appropriate National Minimum Wage rate and are initially expected to work 3 – 5 days a week during the first 3 months. This arrangement may be positively reviewed at the 3-month stage, especially in the case of excellent performance. 

You would be primarily working from our Central London office.

• Demonstrable passion for, and desire to build a career in, the international development/humanitarian sector;

• Super flexible, willing attitude - will excel at frequently moving between different tasks, as business needs dictate.
