We are looking for an experienced senior fundraiser who has demonstrable success in generating income through a range of income streams and prides themselves on compelling, engaging written communications for a range of audiences. Recently kicking off our new ‘Creating Positive Change Together’ strategy, coproduced by over 130 staff, volunteers, clients and partner, Groundswell has ambitious plans and a compelling model which in its simplest form promotes healthier lives and a better future for anyone who has experienced homelessness. 

The post-holder will have the opportunity to develop Groundswell’s next fundraising strategy, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and particularly Finance & Fundraising Director who can bring a wealth of knowledge and insight from recent external and internal reviews of Groundswell’s fundraising portfolio. You will be a champion for the joined up working of fundraising and communications, with the ability to line manage a team and lead strategic plans to engage a range of current and potential donors (individuals, trusts, corporates) to diversify Groundswell’s income and ultimately help Groundswell continue to create positive change in the lives of people, services and systems on their mission to tackle homeless health inequalities.

You will put relationships and effective communications at the core of your work; ensuring both those who give (or have the potential to give), alongside crucial internal stakeholders are energised and involved in Groundswell’s mission. HOMES FOR WELLS is looking for a dynamic new Chief Executive to lead our organisation into the next phase. As a small local Housing Association in the beautiful town of Wells-next-the-Sea we house local key workers in affordable rented accommodation.

We are a Charitable Community Benefit Society, a RSL and a CLT. We have a board of volunteers and two part time staff – a Chief Executive and an Administrator.

We are seeking a new Chief Executive to be responsible for the day to day running of the organisation which currently manages around 30 properties.

The successful applicant will have housing and management experience, good IT skills and a positive outlook.

This is a 3 day a week position, but we can be flexible, and we expect you to be too.  Some evenings will be required.

Salary according to experience but we will pay up to £50,000 full time equivalent.

About You

We’re looking for a dynamic person with drive, energy and enthusiasm.

You will have a track record of leading and managing and will have experience of housing associations and their governance. 

 You will be confident in working with local government officials, other stakeholders and tenants. 

As well as an understanding of the law relating to residential tenancies you will have strong numeracy and literacy skills and experience of providing financial reports. You will be skilled and experienced in partnership working and in facilitating the best performance in others, partners and contractors alike.

You will enjoy getting the job done and be used to dealing with multiple priorities at one time as well as spotting new opportunities to raise the profile of our cause.

The Role 

The role is 3 days per week ideally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with some flexibility for different hours subject to proper support for the Administrator.  Some evenings and weekend working will be required including monthly board meetings, HFW events and meetings at times convenient to Tenants.

The role is based at our office in Wells next the Sea and reports to the Chair.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Reprieve’s dynamic Development Team to secure vital funding to power our high-impact human rights work. Working across both Reprieve and Reprieve US, you will make a real impact by focusing on Major Donors, corporate partnerships, and events. With proven fundraising experience, you will bring expertise in at least one of these fundraising disciplines. 

Working closely with the Head of Development, you will play a key role in delivering our Major Donor programmes across the UK and US. This includes coordinating stewardship activities for Major Donors and high-profile supporters, as well as assisting in the planning and execution of an exciting events programme – including a high-end art auction planned for the autumn. 

With support from the Head of Development and the Deputy Director, Legal & Governance, you will also contribute to securing new corporate partnerships, and take the lead in preparing accurate and compelling applications, reports, and communications for corporate partners and Trusts & Foundations.

Length and Salary

This is a full-time role, on a one-year fixed term contract, with the possibility to extend, subject to funding. The annual salary is £42,193 per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance. 

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work two days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home. Applicants must have the current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.

Your presence is important during core office hours, whether remotely or in the office. You will also be available outside of office hours in the event of an emergency, for example case developments that require urgent action. This is a role that may require travel and work outside of core office hours from time to time.

Overall Duties of the Commercial Bid Writer & Fundraiser  will include:

• Taking the lead in identifying, coordinating, and managing tendering opportunities, processes, and contracts for TACT.
• Overseeing the commissioning and contractual tender portfolio, which will involve ensuring high-quality submissions, and maintaining compliance with all relevant procedures.
• Contribute to fundraising efforts by developing and managing grant applications, securing corporate partnerships, and coordinating annual fundraising events.

The main requirements for this role include:

• GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in bid and tender writing with a strong track record of successful submissions.
• Experience in fundraising, particularly in grant applications, corporate partnerships, and donor engagement.
• Knowledge of fundraising legislation, regulations and record-keeping.
• An understanding of the children’s social care system.
• Familiarity with trusts, foundations, corporate fundraising, and major donor funding mechanisms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills to identify tender and funding opportunities.
• Highly organised, with the ability to track and manage multiple contracts and funding streams.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft compelling and accurate documentation.
• Competent using MS Office Suite including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc

This is a new role in our Participation Team to help us deliver work that amplifies the voices of people with lived experience to find solutions to homelessness and health inequalities. The post holder will lead a few projects and partnerships, with responsibility for planning and delivering activities and monitoring their progress.

Some examples of current projects are:

• Coordinating and supporting a group of six people with lived experience to co-design an immersive audio story and campaign to improve the health of people living in temporary accommodation in London. 

• Working with the City of London Corporation to embed meaningful co-production practices in their homelessness services; bringing people with experience of homelessness, frontline staff, and commissioners together to improve service design and delivery. 

Your main task will be to coordinate groups of people with lived experience of homelessness and health inequalities, alongside Groundswell peers and colleagues, services, local authorities, funders and policymakers.

We are looking for someone with great interpersonal skills who can comfortably engage with different stakeholders. You will be well-organised, self-motivated, and confident facilitating groups to co-create positive change.

Detention Action is a small organisation with a big impact.
