About The Role
The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Builders to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.
Are you interested in the Armed Forces community and harnessing their strengths and gifts? Can you identify what already exists in an area and utilise it to create new networks and make things happen?
We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and confident people who are passionate about collaborating with communities in the design and delivery of interventions that bring and connect people together to strengthen networks within the local community. Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, the Community Builders will play a vital role in helping to improve lives for Armed Forces Community members by creating a supportive environment that allows them to re-engage and connect with the services at Help for Heroes and with the wider community.
The main purpose of this role is to connect local people through their skills, passions and assets and support the creation of new connections, bringing people together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. This will include listening to different points of views, building relationships and motivating people to work together and create their own action influenced by their interests and skillsets to positively impact local communities and help them to flourish.
About You
You will have experience leading and facilitating the mobilisation of local communities, asset mapping, bringing together people for engagement that matters to them. You will have knowledge and experience of Asset Based Community Development work, outreach methods and you will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to animate local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outreach to drive local connection, engagement and participation opportunities for the AFC
- Develop and embed an ABCD informed way of work
- Asset map
- Organise and facilitate community meetings to share ideas, encourage collective decision making and build a sense of belonging
- Encourage and pilot community lead action in response to local AFC needs/interests through peer led/co-designed initiatives
- Increase awareness of the challenges faced by military personnel, veterans and their families
PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidates will need to be based within an hour’s commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). Flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A Community Development qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience working within a community development or similar role, with responsibility for bringing about social change and improving quality of life
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships which lead to actions
- Demonstrable experience within an integrated multi-disciplinary service
- Experience of engaging and working collaboratively with partners/stakeholders
About the Team
You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. Together the Community Development Managers and the Community Builders will strengthen local communities using resources and networks that are readily available. You will do this to proliferate opportunities for sustainable participation and engagement alongside a multi-disciplinary team in order to support the Armed Forces Community to live well after service.

The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Services you will oversee the operations of the charity’s services provision. You will ensure the delivery and outcomes align with the relevant service strategy and with the overarching organisational objectives and values.
Key responsibilities:
- Recruitment and management of regional coordinators and regional service volunteers.
- Working across the charity to ensure integration of the Services team across the organisation.
- Monitoring and control of budgets relating to the services department.
- Managing outsourced service providers.
- Overseeing and reviewing literature orders ensuring swift and cost-effective delivery.
- Providing support to the helpline team by answering nonclinical/dietetic enquiries.

About you:
To be successful in the role you must have:
- Demonstrable experience of management of services.
- Experience working in the charity sector, or closely with healthcare professionals, ideally within the NHS or private healthcare (other sectors would be considered).
- Strong proven experience of developing and driving forward new services.
- Experience in developing and managing strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior healthcare professionals.
- An understanding of the UK health systems, CVD services and NHS structures, both nationally and locally.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective working relationships with a wide range of people.

We are looking for an experienced leader and manager who is skilled in building and developing effective relationships with colleagues, particularly with a workforce which is geographically dispersed. Although this role is predominantly working from home the role does require monthly travel to see our local teams which are currently accross the south of England. Ruils is a charity that supports disabled children and adults, to live independently, be part of their community and to live life to the full. We provide information, advice, practical support, befriending and accessible activities to our clients and families. We enable individuals to have choice and control over the way in which they get their support.
The Adult Services Team Manager is one of 3 team managers reporting to our Chief Executive Officer. The services managed include Direct Payment Support across Richmond and Wandsworth, Befriending and Community Activities, our Benefits and Housing Advice and Information service and our Counselling service.
We constantly research and develop services to meet the identified needs of the community and this role would suit someone who wants a good level of autonomy to develop new ideas.

Purpose of Post

A well established UK charity are seeking an experienced Individual Giving and Data Manager to join their Development team. In this role, the you will manage donor data and deliver targeted communications to individual donors, focusing on regular giving programmes and fundraising from event attendees. You will also play a crucial role in our CRM transition to Salesforce, ensuring smooth data migration and implementing new fundraising processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- CRM/Data Management: Lead the Development team in transitioning to a new CRM system, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. Support team members in using the new system and develop processes for managing fundraising communications.
- Individual Giving: Implement and manage regular giving strategies and develop and enhance digital fundraising platforms and coordinate donation webpages.
- Donor Stewardship: Develop and maintain a robust stewardship process, ensuring donors receive timely acknowledgments and updates on the impact of their gifts. Support stewardship events and recognition activities.
- Communications: Create and manage fundraising communications for individual donors, working closely with the Digital and Public Events Teams.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in individual giving fundraising and CRM management, preferably Salesforce.

The YUVA service supports young people aged 11-18 who have used violence or abuse toward family members or intimate partners. Our behavioural change programme works to help young people identify their abusive behaviours and develop healthy coping and communication patterns.
In this role, you will provide a range of admin support to the team which will include taking and managing referrals into the service, keeping database and client records, facilitating room and interpreter bookings and attending, contributing to and taking minutes at team meetings.
Enthusiastic and keen to develop, you’ve got good communication skills and a professional telephone manner as well as experience of maintaining computer databases. It goes without saying that you are able to prioritise a busy workload and work to deadlines and you’ll be keen to work within an organisation that works both with young people who use abuse and families who have experienced domestic violence.

We are seeking a coordinator for our educational mentoring programme for young refugees and asylum seekers. The coordinator will oversee our North London mentoring hub by recruiting and training volunteer mentors and matching them to young people needing additional educational support.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Case Officer to manage casework support, providing direct support, advice and guidance to beneficiaries on a varied aspects such as general health, social care employment, benefits, statutory support and housing.
In your role, you will assess beneficiaries’ needs and draw on support from the regional specialist team and other providers as necessary, ensuring that support is made available in an integrated way that best meets the beneficiaries’ needs. You will develop creative solutions in response to identified beneficiary needs, drawing on inputs from volunteers and Legion members / branches.
In addition, you will:
- Develop and maintain a thorough and detailed understanding of direct Legion support services and support services provided by others (both statutory and non-statutory).
- Support the Casework Services Manager and Head of Welfare in better understanding the needs of the beneficiaries in the Area to inform the commissioning of specialist services.
- Advise beneficiaries of support which may be available to them and assist them in accessing this support as necessary.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the statutory benefits
- Develop and take advantage of opportunities to reach beneficiaries in communities within the area, forging links and contacts with local organisations.
The role is primarily homebased with occasional requirement to travel across Cumbria and Lancashire, and at times further afield, depending on beneficiaries’ needs, training and meeting purposes.
Driving licence is essential requirement for this role.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Promote and support implementation of the recommendations of the global report at national level.
- Offer policy analysis and advice to help identify priorities and entry points for engaging with Ministries of Health and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate engagement in relevant policy processes and opportunities related to the implementation of the Global Report and Guide for Action process at the country level.
- Build strategic partnerships and alliances with key actors at the national and regional level to promote health equity, including governments, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities, health sector partners, Civil society and relevant bilateral and multilateral agencies.
- Ensure continuity of information sharing across Sightsavers and act as a point of contact for WHO Disability team and WHO regional and country offices.
- Promote the integration of health equity into national long-term strategic health plans and support the development of Sightsavers' policy analysis on health equity.
- Identify and leverage influencing opportunities at national and global levels in partnership with WHO.
The role will serve as a resource for Sightsavers and WHO, facilitating and coordinating their joint engagement with Ministries of Health and other key stakeholders in implementation processes, according to a shared workplan.
Jobholder Requirements
- Experience in the international development sector, including health and disability policy work and/or health system strengthening.
- Understanding of development issues and best practices in global health, particularly public health and inclusion.
- Professional experience in disability, inclusion, public health, or a relevant topic.
- Experience in advocacy/influencing work and forging effective policy networks.
Skills (Special Training or Competence):
- Ability to represent the organisation at a high level of engagement.
- Strong intellectual skills for dealing with complex ideas and concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable:
- Fluency in French (spoken and written).
