Learning and Events Coordinator

As part of this work, our Insights and Engagement Team engages a wide range of people in the Trust’s vision for Gloucestershire, and our Learning and Events Coordinator is integral to this.

We are looking for a Learning and Events Coordinator to provide coordination and administration support for Barnwood Trust’s internal learning programme, engaging staff and Trustees in individual, team and organisation-wide learning and development activities and events.

We want to diversify our team to better reflect the work and communities we support – this means we would particularly welcome applications from people who:

Contract terms:

· This role is 12 months fixed term, and we welcome applications from people looking for part time hours (19 hours per week).

· We offer a flexible start between 8am and 9.30am Monday to Friday.

· £16,023 p/a (pro rata) (FTE £31,624)

Summary of key duties:

· Coordinate and support team learning and development

· Assist in creating and implementing the annual Organisation Learning and Development Plan (OLDP)

· Report on learning expenditure and manage the Learning Management System

· Deliver and administer accessible internal learning activities and events

· Provide administrative support for bookings, venues, and liaising with attendees

· Maintain digital records of learning activities and ensure data accuracy

· Support staff and Trustees in accessing online learning resources

Summary of skills

About the Role

Reporting to our Operations Manager in the Investment Team this role plays an important part in supporting SIBs Investment Team in delivering funding programmes (grants and loans) to charities and social enterprises. As a member of the operations team the role will contribute to the efficient and effective running of the Investment Team.

The role holder will support the day-to-day delivery of funding programmes, including dealing with initial enquiries from our customers, providing support to our Relationship Managers (internal and external) throughout the customer journey, and providing administrative support to the team.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, organised, and has good attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and a desire to support our customers throughout their customer journey. We require someone who is able to manage a varied workload, and keen to contribute to the delivery of our funding programmes. 

Key responsibilities

1. Manage relevant email inboxes and respond to enquiries using guidance notes and signposting queries where relevant.

2. Generate, check, validate and send offer documents to customers.

3. Carry out subsidy and due diligence checks and maintain accurate records.

4. Work with the Operations and Relationship Managers to check and authorise payment requests, ensuring all conditions have been satisfied (grants team only).

5. Set up customer monitoring records, send monitoring requests, complete monitoring records and close grant/ loan cases (as required).

6. Carry out audit sampling of grant/ loan cases (as required).

7. Respond to requests for information and produce regular management information reports for the team.

8. Prepare, review and format reports and papers, including for Grant Panels and Senior Management Team.

9. Be responsible for the minutes of Grant Committees, recording decisions taken, pursue actions and report on matters arising (grants team only).

10. Keep customer Salesforce details (e.g. contact details) and SharePoint files and folders (e.g. bank details, signatories, end of grant report tracking) up to date and accurate (as required).

11. Keep fund Salesforce (e.g. reports) and SharePoint files and folders (e.g. fund information, guidance docs) up to date and accurate.  

12. Maintain administrative systems to support the on-going efficient and effective running of the team and ensure they are reviewed and updated if needed.

13. Provide administrative and other support to members of the team.

14. Support the operations team with the setup of new funds and the update of established fund policies, procedures and templates (as required).

15. Provide cover for the Operations Manager and the other Investment Team Assistant when they are on leave, and to provide cover for other operations team tasks as required.

16. Ensure that all work factors in customer needs and where possible improves the experience for them.

17. Work within the organisation's values, principles and processes to achieve operational excellence.

18. Adopt our continuous improvement and learning ethos.

Responsibilities & Main Duties:

Financial Management

• Act as an effective internal business partner to all colleagues across the charity, providing timely, accurate and relevant information to support the financial planning and performance of all services and functions.
• Day to day responsibility includes leading month end processes including reviewing and posting journals, purchase ledger, sales ledger, adjustments and balance sheet reconciliations to make sure month end reports are delivered within agreed timelines.
• Working with the team to produce the monthly management accounts pack including P&L, cashflow, balance sheet and other management reports with financial analysis and comments as required.
• Working with budget holders on the cycle of budgeting and reforecasting including working to an agreed timetable, setting up templates and working with budget holders to get them completed, plus finalizing them for senior management.
• Supporting the execution of all day-to-day financial operations and processes including management of payroll, gift aid, charity VAT, membership subscriptions, donations and other charitable income and expenditure.
• Assisting in managing external relationships with auditors, banks, pension providers, payroll partners and insurers.
• Managing relationships with stakeholders in relation to efficient issue of invoices, processing of payments, resolving queries etc

Risk Management and Compliance

• Assist in administrating the charity's risk register in timely manner.
• Assist the Director Finance & Corporate Resources in managing internal assurance and governance processes, including internal audit and compliance testing.
• Assist in compliance with contracts with suppliers and landlord as well as supporting compliance in the delivery of charitable service contracts
• Working closely with Director of Finance and Corporate Resources to ensure that Garden Organic is compliant with all regulatory requirements such as data protection, health and safety, the fundraising regulator etc.

General

• It is the nature of the work of Garden Organic that tasks and responsibilities are, in some circumstances, unpredictable and varied. We are looking for two Community Energy Engagement Advisers to join our Retail and Cadent teams to deliver energy support sessions in local communities using the Scope retail stores in the North or South regions. 

Fixed term or secondment 2 years, 35 hours a week

Location: We are recruiting for 2 positions, one in the North Region and one in the South Region. The North Region covers the whole of Manchester and Stoke on Trent. The other will be situated in the South Region covering Norwich, East Anglia and North London. As Community Energy Engagement Adviser, you will be empowering individuals and families through workshops and one-to-one support. You will train retail staff and volunteers to engage with individuals and families, with a particular emphasis on energy advice and support.

The service will help customers through their unfair extra costs and additional vulnerability to fuel poverty. 

The successful candidate must pass an Enhanced DBS check

You will:

• Plan and deliver training for retail staff and volunteers on energy support.

• Work with local organisations to reach those needing energy advice.

• Create and share information on energy saving, bill management, and renewable energy benefits.

• Track and evaluate the effectiveness of community sessions and individual interventions, and adjust strategies as needed.

The Manager will personally and proactively manage a diverse portfolio of funders and corporate partners alongside the CEO, executing an ambitious fundraising and partnerships strategy which supports short and long term projects. While the bulk of this portfolio focuses on trusts and foundations relationships, the postholder will develop relationships across the criminal justice and corporate sector to enhance Unlocked’s reputation and create innovative funding partnerships with corporate partners.

The selected candidate will have a passion, or willing to become so, about what Unlocked is trying to achieve and will be a proven fundraiser. You will have specific experience in securing funds from grant-making trusts and foundations and will be a brilliant networker and communicator.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a community manager who has a passion for building, growing and nurturing our new intervention communities and supporting engagement and collaboration on related intervention fora (such as Circle Intervention spaces, the Fellowship Mentor platform and RSA Spark learning platform)

This role is based from RSA House in London for at least three days per week, with hybrid flexibility for the remaining days.

About You

What we look for in a successful Community Manager (Interventions) candidate:

• Strong working knowledge of online community platforms and best practices.
• Must have minimum of four years of experience of organising and coaching volunteers to deliver community projects with clear scopes, planning and delivery.
• Robust experience of moderating online communities from flagging responses, investigating, responding and closing out cases, including dealing with sensitive and challenging online conversations.
• The drive to uphold commitments to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

This role offers a hybrid working pattern, coming into the London office 2 days/week.

The Royal Institution (Ri) has been connecting people with science for over 200 years. Founded in 1799, the Ri has inspired generations of scientists whose discoveries have helped shape our modern world. The Ri has a clear vision that ‘Science is for Everyone’ and it is their belief that everyone should have equitable access to science.

Together, we are looking for an ambitious Trusts and Foundations Manager to cultivate and develop relationships that will enable the Ri to achieve their strategy as they pursue new projects and reach more beneficiaries.

The role is key in maximising income from charitable trusts and foundations, collaborating across the Ri to develop innovative and compelling proposals, delivering excellent account management and stewardship to existing donors, and identifying, researching and engaging new prospects. 

You will develop cultivation strategies for current and prospective charitable trusts and foundations and research relevant trusts and grant making bodies to prepare, write and submit applications. You will use your outstanding relationship building skills to build relationships with Trust and Foundations that are new or lapsed and create opportunities to introduce the work of the Ri.

Key skills include:

• Proven experience across trusts & foundations fundraising activity
• Ability to research relevant trusts and grant making bodies, prepare, write and submit applications
• Manage lapsed opportunities as well as identifying and acquiring new funding
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally
• Ability to tackle challenges constructively, and find creative ways forward
• Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM

We are seeking a Digital Communications Officer to deliver engaging and informative content across our different platforms to our youth, adult and stakeholder audiences. This involves creating content and keeping our social media pages up to date, maintaining our website, working with young people to develop content, delivering supporter communication campaigns and embedding our organisational identity and tone of voice across all of our communications work.

Not familiar with the term working class?

No problem, lots of people aren't. It means different things to different people but for us at RECLAIM being working-class is characterised by a few key factors:

• You're on, or grew up on, a low income with limited access to wealth.

• You don't have many family connections to people with well paid, professional or powerful jobs.

• You find it harder to 'fit in' in middle-class spaces, interests and conversations.
