This vacancy has arisen as the result of the retirement of our current Fundraising & Marketing Director in Spring 2025. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to take over this pivotal role within the charity.
Based across our two sites in North Weald and Earls Colne (Colchester), you will oversee the strategic management of our charity's fundraising, marketing, and communications. You will lead in the creation, development, and implementation of a range of revenue-focused strategies, and have overall accountability for a large team that generates the funds needed to keep the service operational. As a key member of our Executive Team, you'll collaborate closely with our CEO and other members to drive the delivery of our short, medium, and long-term goals.
Role responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of robust and diverse income generation and marketing strategies that meet both the current, and future, operational needs of the charity with a focus on lottery growth.
- Advise and support the CEO and Board on all fundraising and marketing matters.
- Develop and deliver income diversification plans.
- Lead the team in a positive and inspirational way to maximise all opportunities across our region.
- Develop and build working relationships with key stakeholders and other air ambulance charities.
What we’re looking for
You will have extensive fundraising experience in a compatible context, specifically across key areas of income generation. You must be target driven to achieve income objectives set. You will have appropriate qualifications or be qualified through experience in fundraising and marketing and/or communications.
We're seeking an applicant with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. The ideal candidate will have experience working at a senior executive level, demonstrating sound judgement, political and commercial acumen, and exceptional planning and prioritisation skills. You must be resilient, target-focused, and capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines while delivering exceptional standards.

We have a unique opportunity for an IDVA in a pilot project at Charing Cross Emergency Department. This s a full time 37.5hrs on a 12 month fixed term contract until end of June 2025.

About the role:
This role is co-located within Charing Cross Hospital 4 days per week and 1 day per week at our office near Old Street. As an IDVA you will:
- implement effective ways of working with victims to increase safety & reduce harm
- provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse
- work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse
- run group training sessions & share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital
Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.
You will need:
- knowledge of help-seeking barriers & support needs of victims of domestic abuse
- an understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact
- knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management
- an understanding of safeguarding issues & the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- experience of direct service delivery to vulnerable people
- good communication, negotiation & advocacy skills, both written & verbal when interacting with a range of agencies & people
- strong crisis management skills & the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.
This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more.
You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver an excellent experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.
The North & East of Scotland is an area filled with some of our most committed supporters but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families from hospitals across the region, and our Home from Home, ‘Ciaran’s House’ in Edinburgh, enables families to stay close to their loved one for free during treatment, so building relationships with these teams are a must.
Candidates should live within North & East Scotland, in one of the following counties: Aberdeenshire, Angus, Clackmannanshire, Dundee, Edinburgh & the Lothians, Fife, Highland, Inverness, Moray or Perth & Kinross. Job summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will work closely with the Chief Officer (CO) to grow the business activities of Headway Black Country (HBC).
The BDM's core purpose is to work with the CO, members of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and the Board of Trustees to identify and develop new business and funding opportunities, to enable HBC to meet our charitable objectives, specifically regarding the key themes of:
- Providing support: Offering practical advice, emotional support, and rehabilitation services to individuals who have experienced a brain injury, as well as their families and caregivers.
- Raising awareness: Increasing public understanding and awareness of brain injuries, their causes, and the impact they can have on individuals and their families.
- Promoting independence: Helping individuals with brain injuries to regain their independence, develop skills, and improve their quality of life through various programs and services.
You will provide support to the CO in the identification of opportunities, development, and submission of proposals, and managing the bid/tender processes from scoping through to implementation:
- To secure income from a range of sources to support the Strategic and Business Plans of Headway Black Country.
- To lead on the development of a range of new business opportunities.
- To build relationships with a range of key stakeholders to better position the organisation.
KEY TASKS
- Gain a full understanding of all areas of Headway Black Country to enable post-holder to identify and develop new opportunities.
- To undertake a market analysis to identify opportunities for growth, and to lead on the development of appropriate business products and services as agreed with the CO.
- To identify opportunities for service development through new funding streams, partnership, and commissioning opportunities.
- To lead on the management and preparation of funding bids, tenders, business proposals.
- Coordinate the implementation of agreed new projects and help to develop monitoring plans, and co-ordinating reporting arrangements.
- To develop positive relationships with a range of stakeholders providing funding to charities to raise awareness and promote HBC within the Region.
- Build relationships and partnerships and pursue funding avenues to realise new service activity in line with HBC charitable objectives.
- Implement and lead HBC Fundraising Committee and developing the organisation's funding strategy with the Chief Officer and Board of Trustees.
- Input into the website/ marketing materials to include new and potential development ideas.
- Collaborate and work as part of the management team on agreeing what Business Development Plans progress/ track and communicate progress and recommendations.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Possess a proven track record (2 to 3 years or more) of leading successful applications to grant makers and charitable trusts.
- Have experience in corporate fundraising and donor stewardship.
- Have experience of a broad variety of business/ fundraising opportunities relevant to the charitable sector.
- Have proven experience of developing and maintaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders to deliver tangible results.

- To attend appropriate training sessions and meetings, as required.
- To contribute to monitoring and audit procedures to assess and review the effectiveness of all services and the benefits to clients.
- To actively promote Headway Black Country, the services provided by the organisation, its mission statement, aims and objectives.

Growth, coupled with changing donor attitudes, means that MAG is working in an ever-increasing range of local, national and international partnerships. In response, MAG is looking for an exceptional Global Partnerships Advisor to strengthen its in house capacity to develop, monitor and manage its partnership portfolio in order to maximise the reach and impact of our work. This role will work closely with programme teams and the wider Policy and Strategic Partnerships (PSP) team, liaising with key partners in the mine action and disarmament sectors, with a particular focus on Geneva-based organisations. The successful candidate will build new and effective partnerships that can strengthen MAG’s activities, and lead the development of a global partnerships strategy to frame how and when MAG works with other actors to increase our impact and extend our influence.
The GPA will also work closely with programme teams to support staff working with partners at programme level, improving organizational capacity to develop and manage partnerships within a given country or regional context. This will be supported by the review and development of systems, tools, policies and processes that strengthen MAG’s ability to assess, manage and monitor national, regional and international partnerships in line with MAG’s 2024-28 Organisational Strategy. Communicating across the organization, they will also ensure information flows effectively to assist lesson learning, enhance best practice and improve efficiency of delivery.
The successful candidate will have excellent capacity development, project management, and strategic planning skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities at the same time. Previous experience of donor engagement and representation, as well managing humanitarian and/or development activity which has been implemented via local or international partnerships is essential and experience of working in humanitarian mine action would be highly advantageous. Fluency in written and verbal communication in a relevant second language (French, Arabic, Spanish) is also required. This is a fast-paced and challenging role, which will require high levels of initiative, pro-activeness and strong multi-tasking skills. With an ability to influence, motivate and develop colleagues and key stakeholder and ensuring effective communication, you will be organised, flexible and solution-focused.
Role location
The role will be based from home in mainland Europe with regular travel to Geneva as well as international travel to our office in Manchester and country programmes in South and Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean, possibly at short notice.

We have a highly skilled team of 30 full-time employees in Malawi implementing this work, based out of two offices in the Northern Region. Our UK office in Bristol comprises a small fundraising and operations team of seven staff (two team members are full-time, all other team members are part-time), 3-5 regular volunteers and interns, and a wider family of volunteers and supporters.
Temwa UK has an experienced and high functioning board of Trustees who are very engaged. The board member who oversees the fundraising portfolio is very active, providing support to the Fundraising & Development Manager and the fundraising team as a whole.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Managing the fundraising strategy and donor relations with oversight of the fundraising office
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the charity’s income generation strategy, ensuring targets are achieved.
- Align the fundraising strategy with the communications and marketing strategy.
- Act as the organizational expert on income generation, leading the team to expand all relevant fundraising streams.
- Maintain and enhance current income streams, including trust fundraising, corporate fundraising, high value donors, and individual giving.

Appeer is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to deliver services that support autistic girls and women (and those assigned female at birth) to connect with peers, to develop their life/work skills and to support their wellbeing. We provide in person and online activity groups and programmes, alternative provision, events and resources for those in the community that we serve, their parents/carers and other professionals. We are not a therapeutic setting and as such do not offer clinical support or 1:1 supervision.
