The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead MOVE Against Cancer in its next phase of growth, ensuring that our programmes continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those living with and beyond cancer. The CEO will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy to ensure the organisation’s financial growth, programmatic excellence, and alignment with its mission. CEO - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income Generation & Financial Responsibility
Lead the development and execution of MOVE Against Cancer’s income generation strategy across a diverse range of funders, including trusts and foundations, business partnerships, individual and community fundraising. Create and manage a realistic, achievable annual budget, ensuring that all financial performance aligns with organisational goals. Monitor and report on the organisation’s financial performance, providing regular, accurate updates to the Trustees. Develop relationships with current and potential funders, reporting back on the impact of their donations and securing further financial support. Identify new opportunities to diversify and maximise income streams to support organisational growth, ensuring that the charity can meet its long-term goals. Oversee compliance with fundraising regulations, ensuring that all fundraising activities adhere to legal and ethical standards. Ensure monthly financial reporting and performance tracking, reviewing risks, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
Strategy
Lead the sustainable growth of MOVE Against Cancer, ensuring that the organisation adapts to the evolving landscape of cancer support and related sectors. Work with the Board to regularly review and refine the organisation’s strategy, ensuring it remains responsive to external changes and opportunities.
HR, Compliance & Infrastructure Management
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements, including health and safety, Charity Commission guidance, safeguarding, and fundraising regulations. Oversee data protection policies, ensuring that MOVE Against Cancer meets all General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data privacy laws. Develop and review organisational policies and procedures at appropriate intervals to ensure best practices and compliance with regulations. Establish a continuous improvement framework, gathering feedback and data to guide the organisation’s strategic direction and operational excellence. Coordinate with senior leadership to ensure that all services meet or exceed the expectations of funders, partners, and beneficiaries.
Stakeholder Relationships
Protect and enhance the reputation of MOVE Against Cancer by acting as the organisation’s spokesperson Actively seek collaborations and partnerships with other charities, NHS Trusts, and relevant statutory bodies to strengthen MOVE Against Cancers impact.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications & Experience
Significant experience in growing and leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, with a proven track record of success in expanding reach and impact. Previous experience leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, including strategic planning, governance, and financial management. Demonstrated experience in leading and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including managing major donor relationships, grants, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising campaigns. In-depth knowledge and experience of cancer support services and the challenges faced by people living with and beyond cancer, including their families. Strong track record of working collaboratively with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Excellent communication, public speaking, and relationshipbuilding skills, with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders including funders, healthcare professionals, and the public.

Key Responsibilities (9-Month Focus):
- Income Generation: Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive income generation strategies, working closely with the team to secure funding from diverse sources (trusts, foundations, individual giving, corporate partnerships, etc.). Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential funders and supporters, exploring new revenue streams, and optimising existing income sources.
- Programme Oversight: Ensure our Spokesperson Network, Festival of Learning and Community of practice are well managed, resourced and impactful.
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects of the organisation, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost control, working in close collaboration with the Finance and Operations Manager.
- Organisational Management & Development: Oversee operational, financial, and HR systems, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and sustainability. Deliver the existing operational plan for the period and develop the operational plan for the next financial year. Provides strong leadership to the team, supporting their professional development, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Governance: Provide regular and comprehensive updates to the Board of Trustees on organisational performance, emerging opportunities, and potential risks. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices in governance.

The Legacy Stewardship Manager will focus and lead on delivering RNID’s legacy fundraising stewardship programme to build and strengthen legacy supporters’ commitment and engagement with RNID.

Sector and Capacity Development Manager
MCF has a small, diverse team, but our impact is far-reaching. The Sector and Capacity Development Manager will play an important role in supporting members and the wider British Muslim charity sector, reporting and working directly with the CEO. This is an exciting opportunity to join us on our long-term programme of sector improvement support and development, building the future for British Muslim-led charities to grow and flourish.
As our Sector and Capacity Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing change management, organisational development and capacity building support to the voluntary, community and third sector in 4 core areas including governance, organisational development, volunteering and fundraising.

Main Responsibilities
As part of our team, you will:
• Support organisations by facilitating guidance on best practice across the 4 core areas of governance, organisational development, volunteering and fundraising.

- Work closely with the Communications team to ensure PR and media objectives relating to all aspects of corporate fundraising are met.
- Deliver strategic engagement opportunities for corporate partners, working closely with school-based support to do so. Actively look for ways to improve team processes and show initiative in leading changes to these.

- Demonstrable experience of working in a corporate partnership’s role or another fundraising role, or relevant experience/ transferable skills
