There are also 3 Emmaus groups working towards the development of services in their areas. About the role

You will support the Individual Giving team in the delivery of key fundraising strategies across a range of channels and income streams. This includes project-managing direct marketing campaigns, working to our digital fundraising strategy, liaising with suppliers and delivering key donor stewardship. You will play a key role in driving income at Emmaus UK as well as supporting the fundraising of Emmaus federation partners.

Who are we looking for?

Working within the Fundraising and Influence directorate, reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, the role will be central to the delivery of the strategic objectives of the fundraising team.

• Leading two concurrent workstreams

We're looking for a Community Fundraising Manager - it's a great opportunity to develop a plan and deliver a diverse portfolio of fundraising activities to engage people with our work and contribute to our income.

You will manage a team to help develop innovative fundraising products, grow our supporter base and provide exceptional supporter stewardship.

Income generation  

• Responsible for supporting the development of a 3-year community fundraising income strategy to grow income from a modest base of £125k per year to circa £275k per year.
• Implement the operational plan for community fundraising income. 
• Plan, develop and deliver new community fundraising products, campaigns and events that will resonate with stakeholders including members, donors and volunteers to fundraise. 
• Work collaboratively with Comms, Marketing & Digital teams to develop and drive forward promotion of community fundraising to reach existing and new audiences, including developing content for social channels, e-comms, webpages and fundraising packs.
• Establish a network of community fundraisers, building relationships with community fundraising ‘champions’, and providing excellent supporter care and timely communication. 
• Evaluate community fundraising projects regularly and make changes when necessary. 

Leadership, management and collaboration 

• Lead the community fundraising programme in line with Marine Conservation Society values and organisational culture.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Salford CVS to support a new community engagement and investment programme.

We are looking to recruit a part-time (18.75 hours per week) Development Worker (Movement and Physical Activity) on a 3-year fixed-term contract.

You will lead our role in the Place Partner Investment programme in Salford, funded by Sport England (via GM Moving) and working in partnership with Salford Community Leisure. Salford CVS leads on VCSE engagement and investment, while Salford Community Leisure leads on systems change work.

You will engage and build relationships with VCSE organisations in specific areas of Salford in order to understand barriers to physical activity and existing provisions.

Combining this with knowledge already held at Salford CVS and insight from Salford Community Leisure’s system-wide engagement activity, you will design and deliver an investment programme for VCSE organisations that drives increases in movement and physical activity across various Salford communities.

The role
This role will work collaboratively within Manchester City Council’s multi-disciplinary Thriving Families Team to support families where children are open to Child Protection or Child In Need plans by working with the person who is causing or has caused harm. The Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker will strive to make contact and work on a one-to-one basis with perpetrators of domestic abuse identified through the Thriving Families multi-disciplinary team. By delivering a tailored intervention we aim to increase the perpetrator’s accountability and motivation to change, whilst reducing risk to victims and children. The Domestic Abuse Prevention worker will work closely with the Thriving Families Team and existing agencies as part of a co located multi agency approach. The Domestic Abuse Prevention worker will work closely with the victim/survivor service to review risk, develop safety plans, and improve outcomes for all parties involved.

Key Responsibilities:

Interagency work 

• Work to embed the Domestic Abuse Prevention role into multi-agency responses to domestic abuse in the area, in line with the Thriving Families Manchester Team.
• Support other professionals within the Thriving Families Team in responding to service users in a way that aligns with the aims and ethos of TLC.
• Working closely with other professionals to ensure that risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met. 
• Develop and maintain effective partnership working with statutory, private, and voluntary agencies to address the issue of domestic abuse. 
• Represent the service at operational multi-agency meetings, feeding back initiatives and outcomes to the team and contribute to the evaluation of the quality of activities these services offer. 
• Provide a single point of proactive and regular contact for a range of professionals involved in the case of the service user. 
• Be flexible and willing to work in all types of environments. 

Case management 

• Comply with child protection and information sharing policies, ensuring that service users and colleagues understand and comply with the service’s safeguarding framework. 
• Manage a case load focusing on working with perpetrators of all levels of risk of domestic abuse to provide an assertive, medium to long term service, based on thorough assessment and individual support planning that adopts the principles of both, support and motivation to change.
• Contribute to regular service reviews which include monitoring data, evaluations, intake and output policy, and practice and workload reviews for the whole service. 
• Attend regular case management meeting with the TLC Service Manager and regular meetings within the Thriving Families Manchester Team.
• Attend clinical and practice supervision. 
• Take appropriate steps to protect where there is an imminent risk to another person. 

Recording and administration 

• Ensure that case files and records are accurate and complete and are kept and in compliance with Data Protection Act requirements. 
• To enter all the required information into organisational electronic case management system to enable tracking of service user change, multi-agency working and risk management. 
• Weekly maintenance and accurate and secure audit trail of all relevant communication. 
• Comply with the data protection and information sharing protocols to support the Thriving Families Model. 

Direct work with service users 

• Maintain a proactive response to service users, continuously providing positive options for behaviour change throughout the service users time on service.
• Use combination of motivational work, relationship building and a broad range of therapeutic skills to engage service users to address their abusive behaviour.
• Motivate and support service users to address the broad range of needs that may contribute to the risk that they pose to others or act as barrier for them in addressing that risk. e.g., housing, substance use etc. 
• Ensure that there is a consistent delivery of services to the identified perpetrators of domestic abuse, including comprehensive risk assessment, support planning, referrals to other agencies and MARACs. 
• Undertake assessment of risk, needs and attitudes to inform the individual service user’s intervention plan. 
• Ensure that risk assessment and risk management procedures are followed.
• Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the service works in, providing a service that recognises the diverse needs of service users and their families. 
• Work closely with the victim services supporting the partners, ex-partners, new partners, and family members of service users in managing risk and developing intervention plans, as part of the Thriving Families model.
• The welfare and safety of children and young people is paramount, considered in every aspect of your work, address parenting needs where appropriate and taking action to safeguard children. 

General

• Remain up-to-date and compliant with all relevant legislation connected to your work, including organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct and practice guidance, to uphold standards of best practice. 
• Represent the service at local events; deliver training and presentations as required. 
• Feed into the learning process via the Service to improve services to perpetrators of domestic abuse ensuring that the experiences of service users and other agencies inform this process.

Overview    

The Senior Programme Officer - Development & Advocacy will play a vital role in advancing the HAMRAH initiative and strengthening the resilience of cohort organisations through fundraising, research, joint policy advocacy, communication, and capacity development. This position requires a dynamic and caring professional with experience working with Global South CSOs, as well as the passion and empathy to drive strategic initiatives, build partnerships, and amplify programmatic impact. In this role, you will collaborate closely with HAMRAH's partner cohort organisations (10 CSOs in exile), mentors, the advisory board, and other key stakeholders. Job Description 

Fundraising and Grant Writing: Work with the Programme Director to identify funding opportunities, lead the drafting and reviewing of proposals, concept notes, and grant applications for the HAMRAH initiative and its cohort organisations. Monitor funding trends and donor priorities to develop tailored and compelling proposals.

Policy and Joint Advocacy: Support HAMRAH and cohort organisations in designing and implementing targeted joint advocacy campaigns, including strategy and messaging development.  Help facilitate policy dialogue and engagement with relevant stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and civil society networks, to advance the priorities of HAMRAH and its cohort organisations.

Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to inform programme strategies, advocacy efforts, and policy development. This includes helping produce briefing papers, reports, and articles with clear recommendations based on HAMRAH’s work and evidence.  Also monitor emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in Afghanistan and other exiled communities across Global South to ensure programming remains responsive, relevant and impactful. 

Communication and Reporting:  Lead the development of newsletters and other digital communication materials to showcase HAMRAH’s achievements and cohort organisations’ work.  If needed and approved by cohort, coordinate digital engagement strategies, including website updates and social media campaigns, to enhance HAMRAH visibility and outreach. Lead the drafting of narrative and financial reports to donors.

Capacity Development: support assessment of capacity-building needs of cohort organisations and develop tailored training plans to address identified gaps. When needed, provide technical support to cohort organisations to strengthen their operational and programmatic capacities.

Learning and Exchange: Support the planning and execution of online and in-person cross-learning exchange workshops with partner organisations in the Global South. Facilitate opportunities for collaboration and collective learning, and help establish global solidarity networks, platforms, and resources to enhance knowledge-sharing among cohort organisations.

Person specification 

Required 

• At least 5 years of experience in programme support across fundraising, joint advocacy, partnership, research and capacity development, particularly in the non-profit or international development sectors.

• Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent knowledge that could have been gained through lived experiences or informal learning. 

• Demonstrated experience in grant writing and successfully developing funding proposals for institutional donors, foundations, or multilateral agencies.

• Previous experience in policy dialogue, joint advocacy and policy development, particularly engaging with government stakeholders, donors, and civil society networks.

• Experience in research, mapping, analysis, and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports, proposals, and policy documents.

• Demonstrated communication and networking skills, including experience in digital engagement and social media strategy.

• Strong Empathy and care for activists and human rights defenders, with a strong commitment to enabling their work and safeguarding their well-being who are operating in a complex and challenging environment.

• Demonstrated cultural competency, with confidence in building relationships across different cultures, navigating power dynamics, and engaging with stakeholders from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

• A “self-starter” able to work independently and collaboratively, with the ability and energy to multi-task and thrive in a small team and flat organisational structures.  

• Experience in designing and delivering capacity-building initiatives, including training and resource development.

• Willing to travel internationally for meetings and events (up to 4 weeks a year).

• Experience working with and collaborating with CSOs in the Global South, with a strong understanding of their dynamics and challenges.
