About the Role:
As the Trusts & Foundations Manager you will be responsible for generating income from grant making trusts and foundations.
You will take the lead on seeking out new prospects and nurturing existing relationships to significantly grow income. You will achieve this by researching sources of funding, devising individually tailored applications, maintaining excellent communications with existing and potential donor trusts and foundations, delivering an agreed income target as well as growing funding from these sources.
We are happy to consider people who want to work full-time (35 hours), or four days per week (28 hours).
Here's a summary of your key responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and research new and pipeline trust, lottery and statutory fundraising opportunities and progress them to application stage.
- Developing the trust and foundation pipeline to generate new income and multiyear grants
- To lead the development of new fundraising proposals for priority fundraising projects, including potential research partnership opportunities where MQ collaborates on a joint bid with another institution
- To carry out targeted and systematic research to establish new high value prospects utilising existing networks, the MQ database, search engines and referrals
- Build long-term relationships with new and prospect trust, lottery and statutory donors, including through meetings, attendance at conferences and events, regular update

About You:
This role is for you if you are an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser, with good knowledge of the sector. You'll have demonstrable experience of securing five and six figure grants to achieve annual income targets, both through stewarding existing supporters and through researching and cultivating a pipeline of new opportunities.
You will also be skilled in understanding and translating complex information and turning it in to compelling written proposals, for grants, corporate partnerships and major donors.
We do require someone who is proactive, hardworking and results-orientated.
Essential role requirements include:
- Experience of trusts and foundation fundraising and able to demonstrate continual growth in expertise and results in this area.
- Good understanding of the trusts and foundations fundraising environment and associated processes and different types of grant making bodies.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write concise and inspiring funding applications and to make presentations.

The PSHE Association is the national body for PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) education – the school curriculum subject that supports children and young people's mental and physical health, relationships, safety, economic wellbeing and careers.

Key duties include:
· Lead on the development and operational delivery of the philanthropy and fundraising partnerships strategy, encompassing work across the high-value donor, legacies, trusts and corporate fundraising income streams.
· Maintain relationships with existing high-value donors and funders, through the provision of exemplary stewardship including reports, mailings, phone calls and face to face meetings.
· Oversee the continued development and growth of the charity’s global legacy programme, including the production of legacy mailings, telemarketing, offline and digital advertising, and features, as well as correspondence with supporters, solicitors and other stakeholders.
· Drive the development of the corporate fundraising programme, working with Global Programmes colleagues and partners based in the countries where the charity operates in.
· Provide supportive and dynamic line management for the Philanthropy and Fundraising Partnerships team.
· Support the Chief Executive, Directors and senior colleagues to build new funding relationships with key stakeholders.
· Work closely with the Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications to develop and drive the Philanthropy & Partnerships growth plan.

· Demonstrable experience of managing multi-faceted, high value fundraising campaigns across Major Gifts, Trusts, Corporate or Legacy fundraising.
· Experience of developing, building and maintaining relationships with high-value stakeholders.

· Experience of developing and driving income growth across high-value fundraising income streams.

Key Responsibilities for this role
- To support the Service Development Manager, Skills and Activities Coordinator, Support Staff and Volunteers in leading the development of the Stud Nursery as a viable social enterprise
- To ensure there is a weekly, monthly and seasonal horticulture plan in place (created in partnership with the Support Workers) which reflects the resources needed for client activities, product sales development and events
- To advise and support the Skills and Activities Coordinator in developing practical skills and/or qualification for people/groups using and supporting the sites development to encourage independence and empowerment
- To mentor and coach those using the sites services to lead and shape the sites programme of development as a sustainable community space and social enterprise.
- Work one Saturday per month, as agreed with the Service Development Manager, to open the nursery to volunteer project gardeners, and as a produce sale point to the local community
- In collaboration with the Skills and Activities Coordinator and Admin Support, to ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met, including site and individual risk assessments, and regularly reviewed to ensure a level of professionalism is being kept at all times
- To manage the Support Workers and Skills and Activities Coordinator, and support the charity’s drive toward values-based recruitment and leadership of its staff, volunteers and those using its services and to ensure staff recognition is held as a core value.
