Job Purpose

This is an exciting time to be joining Barnsley CVS and the development of its volunteer offer, working closely with the Barnsley Refugee Advice Project to ensure best practice.

The main purpose of the role is to facilitate better integration of refugee’s, migrants, and asylum seekers into community life in Barnsley using the vehicle of volunteering as a means of supporting this.

You will be responsible for building a strong and trusted relationship with the refugee and asylum seeking community; ensuring potential volunteers are well supported to easily access volunteer roles in Barnsley and playing a significant role in community cohesion. You are likely to provide support through 1-1 support, small group sessions or carefully worded website adverts and information.  Alongside this, you will work closely with voluntary and community sector groups to help them develop appropriate opportunites, ensure good practice and create a network of trusted organisations.

You will need a passion for volunteering and inclusion, patience to work with vulnerable communities and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people in both a written and spoken context.

Main duties

Individual support

· Providing direct support to individuals from Barnsley refugee, migrant and asylum-seeking community to find community-based volunteering roles

· To support the potential volunteer through the application process

· To support the potential volunteer through the recruitment and selection process

· To provide support to the volunteer during the settling in period

Support to organisations

· To work with organisations to ensure that volunteer policies and procedures are inclusive

· Work with organisations to provide high quality support to volunteers from the Barnsley refugee, migrant and asylum-seeking community

· Provide support and guidance in relation to obtaining DBS and equivalent checks where necessary

· Provide information, advice, training and assistance to organisations on the implementation, management and monitoring of volunteering activities

Collaboration

· The post-holder will be expected to work in collaboration with the Barnsley Refugee and Advice Partnership

· To attend the migrant drop-in and work in collaboration with the partners of the migrant network

· To work in collaboration with other Volunteer Coordinators both internally and externally through attendance at the Volunteer Coordinators / Managers meetings hosted by Barnsley CVS

· To attend workshops, group meetings, market places to help network and promote the volunteer services of Barnsley CVS

· To create reports reflecting the progress and learnings of the project to both report to the local authority and to assist in development

This is a new role in our Participation Team to help us deliver work that amplifies the voices of people with lived experience to find solutions to homelessness and health inequalities. The post holder will lead a few projects and partnerships, with responsibility for planning and delivering activities and monitoring their progress.

Some examples of current projects are:

• Coordinating and supporting a group of six people with lived experience to co-design an immersive audio story and campaign to improve the health of people living in temporary accommodation in London. 

• Working with the City of London Corporation to embed meaningful co-production practices in their homelessness services; bringing people with experience of homelessness, frontline staff, and commissioners together to improve service design and delivery. 

Your main task will be to coordinate groups of people with lived experience of homelessness and health inequalities, alongside Groundswell peers and colleagues, services, local authorities, funders and policymakers.

The post holder will play a key role in delivering Groundswell’s new strategy and our Stronger Voices goal (see our Strategy on our website for more details). 

Income from donations from wills makes up approximately a third of our charity’s annual income. This new role will provide our charity with a dedicated member of staff to grow and develop income from this stream; strengthening relationships with pledgers, future pledgers and solicitors and other will writing service providers. The post holder will also coordinate marketing activities to promote this form of giving.

This role will also support colleagues in creating and support events to engage wider donors. We have a close-knit fundraising team and you will provide support for our community, individual giving and corporate giving teams.
 

This role focusses on raising funds for Bowel Research UKs medical research projects and work that focuses on patient and public involvement. Funds raised will be a mix of restricted project funding and unrestricted funds that can support the organisations core operations.

You will need to work closely with colleagues in Research and Patient & Public Involvement to ensure you have a strong understanding of current funding needs and research successes. You will take the lead on seeking out new prospects and nurturing existing relationships to significantly grow income. You will achieve this by researching sources of funding, devising individually tailored applications, maintaining excellent communications with existing and potential donor trusts and foundations, delivering an agreed income target as well as growing funding from these sources.

The role will include researching relevant opportunities, identifying the most appropriate projects, writing and submitting applications and ensuring excellent donor management, development and reporting. Trusts and Foundations income is a cornerstone of Bowel Research UKs charitable income each year and is responsible for around a third of fundraised income. The organisation has assessed the trusts' function recently, the outcome of which shows that there is scope to significantly grow this area of activity. Full support will be given to the Trust Fundraising Manager to enable this growth to happen.

You will be a motivated self-starter able to write, budget and communicate effectively. You will develop relationships with ease and feel able to positively influence colleagues at all levels of an organisation. The position requires someone with a positive attitude who is determined and resilient. 

If you are someone who is or has operated at a senior trust fundraiser level, or someone who can demonstrate experience of developing a trust and grants pipeline, creating compelling applications and directly delivering income success, then this role might be for you.

This role will take a lead on growing and diversifying income from trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors and public sector sources, and will be responsible for championing a culture of partnership, building meaningful relationships and helping to amplify the organisation’s impact and story.

The Philanthropy Lead is central to TBBT’s ambitions to grow their geographical reach and raise their national profile to reach more communities, working to shape and deliver a high-value fundraising strategy, lead multi-sector funding bids, and work hand in hand with delivery teams, partners, and stakeholders. About the role:

The Children & Young People Worker will be based in our Brent service and hold responsibility for delivering one to one and group work services for children of the age of 5 – 18 years, where there is domestic abuse perpetrated from one parent to another or in the household. The post holder will provide support and advocacy for young people and identify and improve referral pathways for those experiencing domestic violence and abuse to access ongoing support.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse as its effects on women and children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and young people’s sectors. As an experienced children and young people’s advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis, and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with children survivors of domestic abuse and working with young people and children in face-to-face and group-work is essential for this post as is working within safeguarding principles and promoting a strong partnership approach to service provision.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

To be successful as the Children & Young People Worker you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have great knowledge and understanding of the needs of children and young people who are or have experienced domestic abuse, or have a parent experiencing domestic abuse, and the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group including, education, confidence and relationship building.

You will have the ability to network, influence, problem solve and apply solution focused approaches to increase access and safety and facilitate positive outcomes for women and children.

You will have excellent risk assessment, support and advocacy skills and the ability to advocate successfully using evidence and professional experience.

You will have experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a

range of stakeholders.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

More in Common is seeking a full-time Research and Data Analyst as we grow our team and advance our mission of building a more united and inclusive UK, where all people feel respected, better understood, and share a sense of belonging. More in Common UK is a small team with a start-up culture where everyone is expected to execute a range of responsibilities. The Analyst will serve as a key member of the UK team, supporting our core areas of research, communications, partnership, and client work. The role will be based in our London office Monday-Thursday with Friday at the office or working at home. The postholder will report to our Research and Analysis Manager.

Analysis

• Translating public opinion data into insights for diverse audiences including policymakers, media, and the general public

• Performing analysis using techniques including cluster analysis, multi-level regression modelling, conjoint analysis and MaxDiff analysis

• Telling compelling stories through creative data visualisation

• Proactively expanding the team’s analytical capabilities

Research

• End-to-end project management for public opinion research projects from design to execution, analysis and presentation of insights

• Conducting quantitative fieldwork including survey drafting and executing advanced survey experiments

• Upholding a culture of best research practice, including supporting global colleagues with research queries

Dissemination and partnerships

• Managing external relationships with clients, partners and research vendors

• Identifying and recruiting new partners and opportunities across business, civil society and the public sector

• Designing insights products to disseminate our insights and research

• Developing press releases for journalists, including conducting data checks

• Drafting and co-authoring public-facing research reports and briefings

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in coding in R is a requirement for this role.

Beyond this, the following would be an asset:

• Demonstrated expertise extracting meaningful insights from complex data sets

• Strong data visualisation skills, with the ability to communicate insights to diverse audiences

• Good understanding of statistical methods including regression modelling and hypothesis testing

• Keen interest in learning new analytical techniques

• A track record of project management

• Curiosity for understanding and engaging people, and a desire to tell new stories that focus on building upon common ground in Britain today

• An understanding of the UK political system and a keen interest in current affairs and UK public policy

• Professional background in public opinion or market research would be desirable.

Overall job purpose

This is a fundamental role within our North regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer. The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 23 historic churches across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, W. Yorkshire, N. Yorkshire (part), ensuring each site achieves agreed standards.

As an Evaluation and Learning Manager you will lead on ensuring that rigorous evidence is  systematically used to drive impact for people living in Lambeth and Southwark and  to advance the emerging field of urban health. To achieve these aims, we provide expertise, set standards and lead the design and development of approaches to be increasingly rigorous and consistent, whilst pragmatic. We work closely with colleagues across several teams as well as external providers, and need to design our approaches thoughtfully, whilst keeping up momentum and focus. You will be skilled in multiple stakeholder management and have demonstrated ability to implement and improve meaningful evaluation and learning for complex and experimental interventions and programmes. 

Key Responsibilities

Impact on Urban Health  

• Lead on providing technical evaluation and learning advice and  support to Programme Colleagues  and our funded partners for the Health Effects of Air Pollution and Children’s Health and Food programmes, with guidance from the Head of Programme Evaluation. 
• Ensure evaluation and learning activity within programmes  meets the strategic objectives of each programme, and is high-quality, equitable and inclusive. 
• Work closely with programme and influencing colleagues to  ensure that evaluation and learning approaches within each programmeare designed with our internal and external evidence needs in mind, so that insights are useful for both internal decision making and external influencing. 
• Advice  programme teams  on the commissioning and effective management of external  evaluation and learning partner support. 
• In collaboration with the Learning team, support programme teams with developing and implementing  evaluation learning practices, so that insights inform internal decision making and external influencing. 
• In collaboration with Data, Evaluation and Learning team colleagues, build the evaluation and learning skills and capabilities of programme colleagues.  

Evaluation and Learning Team responsibilities 

• Co-ordinate and contribute to  the development of evaluation and learning tools  resources and systems. 
• Lead and  support team initiatives as appropriate, such as networks of external partners focused on sharing learning. 
• Support cross-programmatic evaluation and learning alignment across Impact on Urban Health.

The Digital Officer is a key member of the Marketing and Digital team. We are a friendly, creative, and supportive team, responsible for raising awareness and growing the brand of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, as well as our website, email, social, direct mail, paid advertising and more. As Digital Officer you'll work closely with Marketing and digital colleagues, as well as fundraising teams across the organisation. You will be a key player in maintaining and improving the charity’s digital presence, focussing on website management and web content, keeping our supporters and audiences at the heart of everything you do.

It is also an exciting time to join our digital team, as this role will begin part way through a redevelopment of our website. The Digital Officer will play a vital part in supporting the wider digital team to QA and deploy the new site, and support the Digital teams efforts to embed new ways of working and processes for the new site and ongoing roadmap.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support day-to-day management and improvement of the website. Includes content updates to ensure information is correct and up-to-date, and editing pages as needed across the site, following digital best practice.

• Support with the blog content calendar and blog content creation. Writing, building, publishing and optimising digital content, then measuring performance using tools like GA4 and Hotjar.

• Embedding and promoting digital best practice. Ensuring new content developed follows digital, SEO and UX best practices and supporting colleagues within the charity to understand and deliver the best digital experience across key campaigns by providing advice, recommendations and feedback.

• Supporting the wider Digital Team in delivering a training programme across the organisation, which will embed our new content creation process and build digital skills across the organisation.

To be successful in your application you'll need:

• Professional experience using CMS (Content Management Systems) and knowledge of website management, on-page and technical SEO and digital best practice. Knowledge of UX is desirable but not essential.
• Experience using data tools, such as Google Analytics for reporting and identifying actionable insights.
• Excellent copywriting, editorial and proofreading skills.
• Experience in writing for the web or digital channels and creating content tailored to a variety of audiences.
• Ability to communicate, work collaboratively and build good working relationships.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work proactively and manage multiple projects concurrently.

The following are beneficial to your application but not essential:

• Experience of digital collaboration and project management tools like Trello, MS teams or JIRA.
• Experience in a similar role within a complex organisation, charity or health/science organisation.
