You will bring a strong understanding of the communications challenges that charities face as well as demonstrable expertise in training for charities, innovative programme design, securing grant income and other forms of funding, and working with multiple stakeholders.

This role would suit someone with deep knowledge and experience of the UK charity sector combined with a strong interest in the latest media and communications trends and applications.

About Media Trust

At Media Trust, we believe it’s by giving everyone a voice that we’ll get to a more equal society. That’s why we work with charities to strengthen their storytelling, advocacy and campaigning, press engagement and social media. We do this through media, communications and digital skills training delivered with our media and creative industry partners and by matching charities looking for content creation and other media-related support with media industry volunteers looking to give back. Key responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies and new initiatives to drive growth and innovation in the range of charity programmes we currently provide, drawing on sectoral insights and taking a user-led approach as much as possible.
• Programme Oversight & Line Management: Manage the delivery to a very high standard of all our charity capacity-building and training programmes, including being a highly effective line manager for our team of dedicated programme managers.
• Grant Writing and Income Generation: Develop proposals to secure new and repeat funding support for Media Trust's charity programmes and lead the development team in meeting income targets through paid for training for clients including charities and funders.
• Partnership Development: Forge effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders including other charities, infrastructure bodies like NCVO and ACEVO as well as delivery partners including Equally Ours and Climate Outreach, government bodies, and trusts and foundations.
• Representation: Represent Media Trust at charity sector conferences and other events and on social media, to raise awareness about Media Trust and our work.

What we are looking for in you

• Senior Leadership Experience: Proven track record of senior leadership in the charity sector, ideally at an infrastructure or membership organisation, including line management experience and responsibility for managing programme delivery and budgets.
• Training & Capacity Building Programme Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in designing, delivering and measuring the impact of training and other capacity-building programmes for charities and under-represented communities.
• Business Development: Demonstrated expertise in designing and pitching for paid for training and other services.
• Grant Writing Experience: Strong grant writing skills with a successful history of securing funding from diverse sources including government grants, trusts and foundations, and corporates.
• Charity Sector Knowledge: A strong understanding of the communications challenges charities are facing and what interventions are working/not working.
• Knowledge of Media & Comms Trends and Applicability to Charities: Knowledge of the latest media and communications trends and how we can work with our industry partners to ensure charities are using emerging platforms, applications, etc.
• Confidence in Public Speaking & Using Social Media: Experience of speaking at conferences and other public events and facilitating training for large groups. You will also be confident about using your social media profile to raise awareness about Media Trust and our work.
• Outstanding Communication Skills: Very strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, with the ability to adapt tone and approach for different stakeholders.

You'll liaise with the local regional manager and your volunteers, building and maintaining partnerships with a wide range of volunteer organisations and associations, ensuring regular engagement. You will also build upon already established relationships with external cemetery groups where opportunities exist.
As the volunteer coordinator, you'll manage volunteer applications, engage with passionate volunteers, and conduct engaging online training sessions.

• Practical experience managing volunteer groups (including remotely)
• Personable and excellent communication, especially with a diverse range with people

You’ll have innovative ideas to help us to secure new partnerships and nurture new and existing relationships to mobilise local giving. As an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of securing major gifts or corporate partnerships at the four figure level, you’ll have a can-do attitude and a capability for developing strong networks and contacts.

You will be outcome orientated and a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills too.

Experience

• At least three years of proven successful experience in major gifts or corporate partnerships fundraising of four figures or more.
• Proven ability to manage and develop diverse relationships.
• Excellent written and oral English language communication skills.
• Experience in writing and delivering persuasive copy for supporters.
• Thorough understanding of data protection and, specifically, UK GDPR requirements pertaining to fundraising and sponsorship work.

Kingston CF have no formal offices, this role is primarily home-based, with meetings in Kingston upon Thames and co-working days.

Kingston CF launched as an independent charity in January 2021, following eight successful years as local community fundraising project, Love Kingston. · Populate and develop a scheduled plan for engagement events, sessions, and workshops; both in person and online as part of the development of the Community Voice Forum, and related.

· Work with the Head of Business and Development Manager and senior colleagues to incorporate the North Birmingham Economic Recovery (NB:ER) plan which integrates citizen forum, small groups network, digital hubs, health inequalities, social enterprise network and enterprise hub consultation.

· Support Communication and Marketing colleagues to effectively promote community engagement initiatives and activities.

WISH accommodation aims to keep residents safe and supported through an in-reach, wrap around & multi-agency support package. Women will be assisted to regain their independence, to re-join their communities and to develop the necessary skills to live in freedom from fear.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with Manchester Women’s aid to provide specialist support. You will lead a team of staff to provide excellent services and outcomes for women.

You will represent Nacro in this service area and work with the area manager to grow and develop the service.

Key Responsibilities.

• Lead, manage, develop, and motivate staff, including undertaking support and supervision and performance appraisals, to ensure their ability to perform roles and that they engage in their own personal development.
•  Plan and direct the activities of the team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality support and housing management service, which meets the contractual and organisational objectives, targets, standards, and outcomes.

The Organisation

ImpactEd Group supports education and purpose-driven organisations to maximise and realise their potential. A growing team of over 30 people, we help our partners to be impactful and sustainable.

This role is within our Evaluation Practice. The evaluation team works with schools and organisations, analysing the impact of programmes and interventions to help them do more of what works and less of what doesn’t. We work with more than 1,400 schools and 70 education organisations, serving more than a quarter of million pupils. This includes helping our partners to design high-quality research projects, delivering them, and providing systems and tools for data collection, reporting and impact benchmarking.

The Opportunity

The School Engagement Coordinator is a new role working across ImpactEd Evaluation. The role will work directly with schools to deliver national research projects, support their onboarding to our School Impact Platform, and lead communications and data collection for our partnerships. The role would be a good fit for someone with experience or interest in the school sector and research and evaluation.

Day to day your role is likely to be a mixture of:

• Supporting new schools we are working with through their onboarding and data collection processes and monitoring progress
• Working with school leaders and teachers to implement research in their setting - for example on projects like our Understanding Attendance research
• General support for partnership delivery and administrative tasks working with different team members
• Standardised reporting and data analysis – this will require good attention to detail and working with Excel and MS Office Suite

About CAT

The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) is an internationally renowned environmental charity, a world-leading eco centre, and one of the foremost providers of postgraduate environmental education in the UK, based near Machynlleth in Powys, Mid Wales.

CAT provides inspiration, education and training in solutions to the climate and biodiversity emergency.

Key activities include residential short courses, vocational training and postgraduate degrees in a wide range of sustainability-related topics, with online courses and events offered alongside in-person learning.

CAT launched the Zero Carbon Britain Hub and Innovation Lab in 2020 with support from the Moondance Foundation. This was initially a three year project and received further funding from the Moondance Foundation to run the Innovation Lab for a further three years. The aim of the project is to improve the capacity of councils and communities to turn climate emergency declarations into action and create systemic change in order to increase resilience to climate change.

This will be achieved by offering a programme of support aimed at increasing the competence, confidence and effectiveness of policy makers, communities and organisations in developing zero carbon policies and action plans. This support will include: using the Zero Carbon Britain model to provide people with the knowledge to create Zero Carbon Action Plans; delivering Zero Carbon Britain training using a ‘train the trainer’ model to increase the skills and capacity of communities to take action on climate change; supplying the tools to enable people to turn climate emergency declarations into action; setting up a digital resource hub and online network to provide peer support and increase confidence of individuals and communities to take action on climate change. In conjunction with the Zero Carbon Britain Hub, an Innovation Lab will identify key issues, priorities and tasks; develop ideas that impact on these areas; and create routes into larger scale impact or systems change.

Location: Flexible with regular visits to the CAT eco centre near Machynlleth

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. (1.0 FTE)

Working Days: Usually Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Occasional weekend and evening working.

Salary and employee benefits:

£35,898 per annum.

Overview of Role

The postholder will manage the Zero Carbon Britain Innovation Lab, to improve the capacity of councils and communities to turn climate emergency declarations into action, identifying key issues, priorities and tasks, developing ideas that impact on these areas and creating routes into larger scale impact or systems change, in order to increase resilience to climate change.

Main Responsibilities

· To work with the Zero Carbon Britain Hub Team and External Evaluator, to clarify aims and capabilities, identifying key issues, priorities and tasks the Innovation Lab could help tackle, assessing current and potential innovation capabilities and gaps

· To design the Innovation Team model

· To manage all staff employed to deliver on the Innovation Lab

· To liaise with the Head of Development to identify other sources of funding for developing the Innovation Team model and building the Innovation team

· To develop and implement Innovation Lab methodology, piloting and delivering innovation Labs

· To put in place effective systems, policies and procedures for the effective management, monitoring and evaluation of the Innovation Lab in order to deliver on the project’s aims and objectives, outputs, outcomes and impact

· To work with the Graduate School of the Environment and contribute to teaching on the Masters in Behaviour Change and other Masters degrees

· To represent the Innovation Lab externally

· To liaise and work in partnership with appropriate external organisations, to support the needs of councils and communities to turn climate emergency declarations into action

· To manage external consultants and staff tasked with delivering training and consultancy

· To prepare marketing material and publicise the project and its activities

We sort out problems together, for good, by providing free, independent, confidential and impartial advice across all areas of social welfare law, and through using the experience of our clients to bring about positive change through research and campaigns. 

Citizens Advice Southwark has been awarded funding by City Bridge Foundation to provide a welfare benefits advice service for Southwark residents and we are now seeking to recruit a full time welfare benefits caseworker.

The caseworker will be based between our two main offices in Peckham and Walworth and will assist with raising awareness and completing benefit claims, advocating on behalf of clients and submitting reviews and appeals. The caseworker will also train a team of volunteers to increase capacity and expertise and will act in a consultancy role for generalist advisers and frontline workers in other agencies in the borough.

To be successful you will need:

• At least one year’s full time (or part time equivalent) paid or unpaid recent experience of advice work.
• An in-depth knowledge of welfare benefits including those related to disability and sickness.
• To understand, empathise with and be committed to the Service’s aims, principles and equal opportunities policies

VOICES are excited to be seeking our first full time fundraiser to support our growth and development. We are looking for an individual who has relevant sector experience, a good knowledge and understanding of fundraising and a commitment to working in a trauma informed way. As a survivor led organisation, we are looking for someone who shares our ethos and will be proactive in consulting with our Lived Experience Group(s).

You will work closely with the CEO to help secure the long-term future of VOICES, through expanding and diversifying our income generation.

With a good understanding and knowledge of grants and trusts fundraising, you will also help direct our future – with consideration to community fundraising, charity shop and/or social enterprise. Whilst we’ve many ideas about what it might look like, no decisions have yet been made and we’re keen to work collaboratively with our new fundraiser and hear their vision.

At VOICES, we have big ambitions which would cement our role as sector leader in recovery services and ensuring survivors’ voices remain at the heart of policy and practice.

This role will also involve working to help develop VOICES’ name, increasing community awareness of our charity. You will therefore bring with you, knowledge of social media, marketing and communications and/or a willingness to learn.

Please be aware that due to the nature of the services delivered by VOICES in our safe space centre, this role is restricted to those assigned the gender female at birth in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop, oversee and actively lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy which exploits a wide range of fundraising opportunities, maintains diverse and sustainable income streams, and builds the organisation’s voluntary income capacity to meet its aims and objectives.

- Oversee and support the development of fundraising, with consideration to diversifying our income avenues.

- Working closely with the CEO and Finance Assistant, maintain an overview of funding across the organisation and analyse income sources to manage the fundraising strategy, assess progress against targets and contribute towards our financial capacity.

- Absorb the knowledge of the team and consult with them regarding priorities, representation, approach and model.

- Work with the CEO to develop high quality grants and trusts applications (our current main source of income).

- Build on our existing corporate partnerships and establish / develop new corporate partnerships for VOICES.

- Attend Finance Committee meetings and the Board of Trustees, reporting on fundraising and progress against the strategy.

- Help to grow the name of VOICES, through use of relationships, partnerships, marketing and communications.

- Work closely with the Centre Administrator to agree a planned approach to social media.

- Working with the VOICES team, consider the role of volunteers in VOICES – taking management responsibility for any fundraising volunteers.

- In line with our trauma-informed ethos, adopt a trauma-informed approach.

- Work with clients, including the Lived Experience Group, to hear their ideas for fundraising and enable their participation in events / volunteer opportunities where appropriate.

- Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including Clients, funders (including trusts, companies, major donors), Trustees and volunteers.

- Continuously monitor and evaluate fundraising activities, taking corrective action or enhancing them when necessary
