The Training Administrator plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our training services. Key Responsibilities
Venue Hire Management
- Successfully deliver budgeted income targets for venue hires.
- Oversee the booking, scheduling, and coordination of venue hire events at Winchester Science Centre ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.
- Manage client inquiries and provide expert advice on venue availability, layout options, and event suitability.
- Develop and maintain an efficient booking system for venue hire, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Corporate Relationships
- Build and nurture relationships with corporate clients, including event organisers and business partners.
- Identify new opportunities for corporate event bookings, leveraging existing networks and prospecting new leads.

Event Planning & Coordination
- Support clients in planning and coordinating events held within the Science Centre, utilising the venues unique attributes.
- Coordinate logistics with internal teams such as catering, AV requirements, duty management.
- Ensure that event hires align within the Wonderseekers charitable objectives.
- Management of individual event budgets maximising resources and ensuring budgeted targets are met.
Sales & Marketing Support
- Contribute to the development and execution of marketing campaigns aimed at promoting the venue and corporate event services.
- Assist with the preparation of promotional materials, proposals, and presentations to prospective corporate clients.
Operational support
- Duty Managing on the day of events and being responsible for motivating, inspiring and delegating tasks to team members, ensuring events are operating at maximum efficiency through rota management.
- Act as Duty Manager, when needed, being responsible for the whole building.
- Overseeing the visitor experience journey for events, ensuring customers have a memorable and positive experience.
- Be an excellent team player and lead by example.
- Overseeing event set up and building management during events including maintaining general cleanliness, reporting faults to the Estates team, completing health and safety and fire alarm checks as required and routinely inspecting facilities both inside and outside.
- Overseeing bar, admissions and retail operations during an event when required.
- To follow risk assessments, health and safety standards, safeguarding and access requirements providing a safe, secure and accessible environment for our visitors.
- Remaining calm and in control in order to assist in challenges such as customer complaints and changing staffing needs.
- Work closely across departments to ensure high-quality delivery.
- General events support such as cleaning, tidying, restocking and serving refreshments.
Key Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in event management, with a focus on venue hire and corporate client relationships.
- Proven track record in managing corporate events and driving sales.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with clients and customers at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.

The Age UK Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Advice team provides welfare benefits advice tailored to the needs of older and vulnerable people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. With a small team of paid staff, the service works extensively with volunteers to provide services including office appointments, telephone sessions and home visits across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for the operational effectiveness of the Advice service, ensuring that high-quality, appropriate, and effective services are delivered in line with the needs of older and vulnerable people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. You will be responsible for meeting service outcomes and targets, ensuring quality standards are met and monitoring and reporting key performance indicators.
Experience of managing an advice service, or similar, is essential. You will have experience in an advisory role and in-depth knowledge of the benefits system. The role requires excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead and motivate a hybrid team.

Our client is the UK’s national LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness charity. Their mission is to ensure that every LGBTQ+ young person facing or at risk of homelessness or a hostile environment has somewhere safe to stay, and work with over 800 vulnerable young people a year providing both face to face and online support. They are now recruiting a dedicated Supported Housing Manager to oversee the opening of a brand new LGBTQ+ service based in Lambeth.
Reporting to the Director of Services, as Supported Housing Manager you will have responsibility for the opening and day to day management of a new six unit LGBTQ+ housing scheme, working to create a safe, welcoming and psychologically-informed home environment for all beneficiaries. As Supported Housing Manager you will oversee a small, committed team of frontline staff, and will work to ensure that the support delivered is person-centered, holistic and to the highest quality. Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will ensure that team members fulfil their duties in safeguarding children and young people in line with company policies, and will work in partnership with a range of agencies to achieve best possible outcomes for all service users. You will also provide training to professionals and support to LGBTQ+ people, ensuring that professionals are working in an LGBTQ+ informed and inclusive way.

The role
This post plays a key role in the strategic leadership and day to day management of IES, with overall responsibility for IES’s financial stewardship, financial management and support services. The post reports to the CEO, is a member of the Institute Management Team and acts as Secretary to IES’s non-executive Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities in the role are set out below.
Financial management
■ Overall responsibility for IES budgeting, accounting, audit, reporting and internal controls.
■ Oversight and responsibility for IES internal systems, processes and reporting, to ensure that there is a regular, timely and accurate understanding of the Institute’s financial position.
■ Providing information and advice to the Management Team and Board of Trustees on IES’s financial position and future financial risks and opportunities.
■ Responsibility for ensuring that timely and accurate financial information is available to project managers, alongside appropriate support with management of project resources. This includes oversight of systems for project accounting and reporting, administration of research contracts and contracts with third parties, contract-related client relationship management, and data protection.
■ Managing relationships with key external suppliers, including the bank and auditors.
Company secretary
■ Ensuring that IES complies with all relevant company and charity law and can meet wider standards of good governance and transparency in the sector.
■ Oversight and responsibility for IES systems and processes that support effective corporate and charity governance.
■ Lead responsibility for IES business continuity planning and risk management, including maintenance and oversight of the IES strategic risk register.
■ Ensuring that IES has access to appropriate and suitably qualified advice where this is needed in order to comply with governance and legal requirements, including legal and tax advice.
Support services
■ Oversight and responsibility for IES premises, information technology systems, telecommunications and office supplies.
■ Ensuring continued IES compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 27001, CyberEssentials and other industry-standard accreditations.
Policies and processes
■ Ensuring that IES policies and processes in relation to these areas of responsibility are in place and kept up to date.
Institute leadership and management
■ Contributing to the wider strategic development leadership and management of IES including:
● Membership of the Institute Management Team and Operational Management Group
● Contributing to the development of the annual business plan and supporting its achievement
● Contributing to, and where appropriate leading, specific continuous improvement initiatives as agreed with the CEO and Management Team
● Direct line management and professional development of colleagues with responsibility for areas set out above where appropriate (current line management responsibility is for one full-time finance officer and one part time office manager).
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will be able to combine active delivery of financial and other services with high level proactive advice, and will have:
■ Experience of financial management within a small/medium sized organisation, preferably one reliant on project or contract-related funding. This could include charitable organisations, research bodies, consultancies, legal or professional services firms, academia, or similar.
■ Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
■ Experience managing a diverse team in a similar environment; with strong collaboration skills.
■ Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders including the Board of Trustees, the IES Management team, and research, consultancy and support staff within the organisation.
■ An initiative-taking and adaptable approach to managing a small and administratively lean organisation.
■ Understanding of corporate or charity governance procedures or the ability to learn quickly.
■ Experience or knowledge of relationship management with clients and/or funding organisations, especially research funding organisations; experience with fundraising from corporate or institutional bodies.
■ Experience of change management: experience of introducing new systems, processes, or ways of working to improve efficiency in a small/medium-sized organisation.
