Homeless Link is the national membership charity for frontline homeless agencies and the wider housing with health, care and support sector in England. As a Consultancy Manager, within our Sector Development Directorate, you will play a vital role in the management and delivery of high-quality consultancy projects for Homeless Link’s customers. The successful candidate will have experience of working at a management level within the homelessness sector, with an appetite to transfer their skills and knowledge by offering consultancy support. Job Information

As Data Programme Manager, you’ll use your project and programme management skills to successfully deliver projects which improve Hospice UK’s data capabilities. You don’t need to have technical data skills, but you’ll need to be able to guide technical colleagues and third-party IT and data providers.

Your main project will produce a new Member Data Portal, enabling over 200 member hospices to submit data and view insights and analysis that informs their service offer, whilst also providing a national view of hospice care that Hospice UK will use to support member hospices with national campaigning and fundraising.

Alongside this, you will lead data projects that improve our internal performance management. This will involve working with colleagues to gather requirements and develop reporting that supports effective decision making, developing new policies and procedures, and providing training.

Excellent stakeholder management skills will be key to your success. Working with representatives from our member hospices will be vital to the success of the Member Data Portal project. Internally, you’ll collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including the ICT and Data team who will provide technical expertise, and senior managers who will be customers for many of the projects. You’ll also work with external suppliers of technical products and services, including carrying out procurements where needed.

You’ll have great project management skills, which means you’ll be organised, structured and a pragmatic problem solver. Ideally, you’ll have experience of delivering technology, digital or data projects.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to take responsibility for the day-to-day work of our innovative Hearing Voices Projects. To be successful in this role, you need to have an in-depth understanding of the Hearing Voices Movement and the role of peer support groups within this. You will ideally have experience of supervising or mentoring volunteers and some project management experience.

With the confidence and organisational skills necessary to take the lead on busy and diverse projects, you will be required to engage with a wide range of stakeholders (from the adult mental health, prison, forensic and youth sectors). As such, this role is best suited to someone who is flexible enough to modify their approach to suit the situation.

We are looking for someone with strong facilitation skills who is able to deliver and design training that communicates the values of the Hearing Voices Network clearly and accessibly.

Among other tasks, you will be required to:

• Oversee the current Hearing Voices Projects to ensure they are consistent and embody the Mind in Camden and Hearing Voices Movement ethos.
• Be part of some of the frontline work, including facilitating groups.
• Build networks and deliver training sessions for the Hearing Voices Projects.
• Liaise with the finance department and ensure the projects are meeting targets for funders.
• Support relevant data monitoring and evaluation on the projects.

The role
With responsibility for a small team of three, as Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, ensuring the accurate and efficient management of financial transactions, reporting, and compliance.

As a senior member of the Public and Political Engagement team, the Advocacy and Engagement Manager will work closely with our Research and Operations teams, and partners across Africa, Asia and South America. They will engage with decision makers in government, business, financial institutions, multi-lateral and network organisations, local and international NGOs, and the media, to advance evidence-based solutions to the conjoined global crises of water, climate, nature and inequality.   

In particular, they will play a key role in our Fair Water Footprints Campaign and the wider delivery of the Glasgow Declaration for Fair Water Footprints. With new funding from the UK Government’s Just Transitions for Water Security Programme, these game changing initiatives seek to end the abuse of water in our supply chains, and to establish responsible water stewardship as the global business norm by 2030 so that trade and business accelerate, rather than undermine, shared water security.  This will be achieved through mobilising the power of scientific evidence and citizen voices to trigger change in government policies, corporate practices, financial disclosure, and political and public expectations.  The choreography and delivery of this change will be a core focus of the successful candidate’s work.

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3250 children in 2024-25.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.

Job Summary

Chapter One is seeking a Manchester Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to children facing disadvantage communities is maximised throughout the academic year.

The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base, but who is also able to travel frequently around the Greater Manchester area to visit schools.The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers

• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms

• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others

• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up

• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom

• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles

• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed

• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise

• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends

• Create regular data summaries for all participating classrooms

• Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools

• Support programme monitoring, evaluation and research as required

• Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary. This may include opportunities for Chapter One children to visit the office of the volunteers.

• Liaison with corporate partners as required

• Weekly communication and status updates with Senior Programme Manager(s) and wider team

• As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and find and target new schools to join Chapter One’s programme

Emmaus Greenwich is a unique charity that offers a home, work experience, and individual support for up to 45 people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion. We don’t just give people a bed for the night; we offer a home, meaningful work opportunities, and a sense of belonging.

At the heart of Emmaus Greenwich is our companions. Companion is the name given to people who live in an Emmaus community and contribute to the social enterprise, where they support themselves and one another.

Emmaus Greenwich offers an individual holistic package of support and a tailored development plan to support each companion develop new skills (or build on existing ones) to boost confidence, improve mental and/or physical health and wellbeing, and increase employability.

We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer that will be responsible for the operational management of the social enterprise, facilities, and Companion community at Emmaus Greenwich. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will ensure that all areas operate efficiently, meet compliance and safety standards, and support the overall mission of the charity. 

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leadership

• Ensure smooth and efficient operations through strategic and effective operational management.
• Lead and support the Retail Manager, Property & Facilities Manager, and Community Manager in delivering their respective functions effectively.
• Work closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and leadership team to develop and implement the organisation’s long-term strategic goals.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.

2. Social Enterprise & Retail Operations

• Oversee the Retail Manager in managing charity shops and retail operations, ensuring financial growth and sustainability.
• Develop and implement business strategies to enhance sales, efficiency, and income generation.
• Identify new opportunities for business diversification and expansion within the social enterprise.
• Ensure compliance with retail regulations and best practices.

3. Facilities & Property Management

• Oversee the Property & Facilities Manager to ensure all Emmaus Greenwich properties are well maintained and meet health & safety, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Develop and oversee maintenance schedules, capital improvement plans, and risk management strategies.
• Ensure effective management of utilities, repairs, and external contractor relationships.
• Oversee security, fire safety, and infrastructure projects.

4. Companion Community & Wellbeing

• Oversee the Community Manager in ensuring a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for companions.
• Work with the team to develop individual progression plans, enabling companions to build skills and move towards independence.
• Ensure that companions are meaningfully engaged in charity operations and social enterprise activities.
• Implement safeguarding policies and best practices for supporting vulnerable individuals.

5. Financial & Budget Management

• Work with the CEO and Finance Manager to oversee budgets, financial planning, and cash flow management.
• Manage financial performance across the social enterprise, facilities, and community services.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue-generation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, charity governance, and reporting requirements.

6. People Management & Organisational Culture

• Lead and develop the Operations, Property & Facilities, and Community Managers, ensuring high levels of motivation and performance.
• Establish and oversee effective recruitment, training, and performance management processes.
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organisation.
• Champion Emmaus values and ensure they are embedded in daily operations.

The Spear Centre Manager will work as part of the River Church staff team to oversee the delivery of Spear—an employability programme equipping and empowering unemployed 16-24 year-olds to overcome barriers to employment and turn their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

The important stuff 

Salary: £25,213

Hours: Full-Time (4 days considered), Monday - Friday, 9.30am-5.30pm with some out-of-hours work needed for events such as our Spear Celebrations

Location: River Church Ipswich – we are an office-based organisation, situated with direct and fast links to London

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of the Spear Programme

Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions plus a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there. ​

• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
• Oversee all aspects of the programme coordination and delivery.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report to Resurgo and the church on enrolment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees, as well as their ongoing progress.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Build and implement a strategy for developing and maintaining relationships with local referral partners to build the profile of the Spear programme within Ipswich and ensure the young people who would benefit from the programme are able to access it.
• Steward relationships with young people after initial point of contact, to encourage enrolment and ensure a full cohort is enrolled for each programme.

Line management and training

• Manage the Spear Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Work with and be managed by River Church staff locally, and by a Church Partnerships Manager from Resurgo on a national level, to ensure the flourishing of the Spear centre, its team and young people, and to ensure the fulfilment of our shared mission in Ipswich.
• Work with and report to Resurgo teams on KPIs, and use outcomes data to maximise the effectiveness of the programme.

Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry

• Establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement of church members and to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Work with the Head of Operations and the Fundraising Assistant to prepare grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
• Attend and participate in the life of River Church, keeping the congregation updated on the Spear programme to ensure it is a seamless part of the church’s missional work.
