Travel Radar is growing; We are looking for a experienced and skilled Assistant Operations Manager to join our team and support our growth by supporting our Editorial volunteers in the smooth operations of the organisation. You will have a hands-on role managing a busy team within the organisation, composed largely of volunteers and interns.
Note, this role is for an Assistant Operations Manager position covering our Weekend Period: Saturday and Sundays. It would be a few hours of volunteering in the evening on a Saturday and Sunday, and one hour on a weekday evening.
Responsibilities and A Little More About the Role:
- Coordinate management activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
- Supervise department staff and divide responsibilities to ensure KPIs are met
- Management of the team over the weekend (quieter) period
- Handle a team inbox and handling internal correspondence as required
- Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned
- Producing a short handover report to the Operations Manager who covers Mon-Fri of the team
- Reading and actioning handover report from the Operations Manager for the week passed
- Other administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the department

- Passion for Business/Organisation Management, Administration and Office Management is ideal

The Pelvic Radiation Disease Association (PRDA) is looking for a Chair of Trustees to provide strategic leadership for the charity, working in partnership with our Operations Manager and supported by a committed team of Trustees.
Who we are
Pelvic Radiation Disease (PRD) is a long-term side-effect (‘late effect’) of pelvic radiotherapy treatment affecting an estimated 100,000 people in the UK. People affected by PRD often have a complex set of symptoms affecting the bowel, bladder, sexual function or other functions for many years after radiotherapy, sometimes only appearing several years after radiotherapy treatment
PRDA is a small UK charity whose objectives are to see that the effects of PRD are minimised, that people affected by PRD are given the best possible care and treatment, and that PRD is accepted as a serious problem and given the attention it deserves.
Duties of the Chair
In addition to the duties of a Trustee, the Chair will:
- Provide strategic leadership to the charity and the Board, ensuring that PRDA achieves its mission.
- Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and team to achieve our mission.
- Lead the board in ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the organisation.
- Optimise the relationship between the board and PRDA’s staff and volunteers.
- Plan and chair the board meetings and the AGM, with others as appropriate.
- Act as a spokesperson and figurehead for PRDA.
What PRDA is looking for

Event Lead volunteers work alongside our Active Events team staff members to plan and deliver the One Walk Cymru event. What will I be doing?

- Work with the Active Events Manager to implement a local marketing strategy using the provided resources, such as flyers, posters, and social media templates.
- Using your own local network to plan and promote the event, including recruiting participants, suppliers and volunteers.
- On the day lead a small team of volunteers to successfully deliver a One Walk event. Oversee event operations and be the main point of contact for all event-related activities.

What skills or experience do I need?
- Event planning experience and/or good organisational skills.
- Working with others or leading a small team.
- Financial management or confidence in handling a small budget.
- Good local knowledge to engage with local communities and use networks to promote event and recruit participants, suppliers, and volunteers.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers, working alongside our staff team, and supporting a small group of volunteers.
- Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues as they arise, particularly on event day.
- Passion for the cause and commitment to delivering a successful event that supports Breakthrough T1D’s mission.
When do you need me?
One Walk Cymru is scheduled to take place Sunday 1st June at Parc Gwledig Cosmeston. Planning for your event will start in January.
We ask that you volunteer 3-4 hours a week for event planning. This may need to increase closer to the event. You must be available from 7am-4pm on the proposed event day as the Event Lead.
Where will I be based?
You’ll be planning an event local to where you live, and you can work from home/remotely.
You will be required to visit the One Walk event site as well as walk the route at least twice before the event day.
What training and support will I receive?
When you sign up to become a volunteer, we’ll send you a copy of our Volunteer Handbook and any relevant policies you’ll need to know about.
You will receive role specific training through Breakthrough T1D’s Learning Hub which will include, Type 1 Awareness Training, Health & Safety Training, safeguarding and cash handling.
Bi-weekly team meeting with the Active Events Manager to track the progress of the event and seek support.
You’ll have the name and contact details of a staff member who’ll support you in this role and answer any questions you have.

The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust (TADCT) is seeking a new Trustee to join our committed and enthusiastic Board as we embark on the next phase of our charity’s growth and development.
This is a key opportunity to help shape the future of TADCT, as we work to create lasting improvements in aortic dissection diagnosis and care. We are looking for an inspiring, dynamic, and ambitious individual who is ready to make a significant impact.
We welcome applicants from a range of professional backgrounds, but we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial Management and Oversight
- Fundraising and Income Generation
- Strategy and Governance
- The NHS, Genomics, and Policy
As a Trustee, you will:
- Contribute to shaping the charity’s strategy and overseeing its operations
- Attend four Board meetings per year, with at least one in person
- Participate in fortnightly informal online meetings
- Work closely with a passionate and proactive Board that is actively involved in the charity’s day-to-day activities
The successful candidate will be joining a very strong and committed Board that is actively engaged in the charity’s operations, not just providing oversight.
