About us
Who we are
Emerge Worldwide is a humanitarian organisation whose purpose is to advocate and raise awareness against sexual exploitation and sex trafficking, focused on women and girls. Our activities provide interventions, tools and resources in prevention work, as we seek to end it everywhere.
We help and support those suffering trauma, and who are victims of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking and empower survivors of this horrific crime, to go on and live independent successful lives.
What do we do?
1. REACH
Educating and equipping everyone, (people, professionals, businesses/ organisations, essential services, faith communities), to understand, identify, and reduce the risk of sexual exploitation and human trafficking through training programs, educational curriculums, prevention programs, and awareness campaigns.
Impactful awareness is crucial. We believe ending sexual exploitation and sex trafficking is everyone’s business and we are committed to raising awareness through research and learning, the arts, digital communication and engaging initiatives for people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and professions.
2. PREVENT
Delivering interventions through training, tools and resources to prevent it from happening and for those trained/informed to safeguard and protect themselves and others.
At the heart of what we aim for is transformation. We work with lived experience survivors, evidenced based research and shared good practice to deliver services which build resilience to exploitation and trafficking, create pathways for victims to be recovered, deliver strong advocacy for rights and support a sustainable, positive and empowered future for survivors.
Partnering with authorities to secure the freedom of victims and the conviction of human traffickers through hotlines, child advocacy centres, identification training, and legal support. To empower champions in the community through our outreach team, who can be positive influencers and a point of contact for those who may be vulnerable.
3. RESTORE
Empowering survivors of human trafficking on their unique journey toward restoration and independence, through programs like holistic aftercare, safe accommodation, and relocation services.
We partner and collaborate with organisations, agencies and businesses that have relevant expertise in areas of need that survivors can be supported, building their resilience and transformation to sustain independent living, and reduce risks of re-traumatisation and further risk of exploitation or trafficking.
