Job Purpose:

• To provide high quality, proactive and efficient support to the service pipeline, service transformation project and service team members across the UK, whilst maintaining appropriate systems and processes to support the effective delivery of service innovation and development
• To act as a resource for colleagues offering direction through the service innovation process, assisting colleagues with document/project development and the agreed deliverables, and being available for light touch project support and guidance
• To produce regular reporting on the performance of projects and services ensuring there is oversight of support service provision within the organisation
• To contribute to the overall implementation of the Service and Support directorate objectives

Please note this is a part-time (21-hours per week) fixed term contract until 25th August 2025.

Are you an RNC or RNA/RNLD with paediatric experience looking to work on a one to one care basis and build your experience in palliative and end of life care? 

We are recruiting for Senior Paediatric Palliative Care Nurse (Band 6) to help lead and be part of our Care Team at our peaceful, woodland hospice.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work in partnership with hospitals and community nursing teams to deliver care to a range of children and young people with a variety of complex health conditions. As well as providing clinical care, you will also develop play and recreational activities to provide appropriate stimulation to the children in your care. We will support you in your learning and development and there is the potential to gain experience in outreach work.

As a Senior Nurse you will be a team leader to a small group of nurses and HCAs (Play and Care Workers), taking responsibility for line management. You will lead your team in acting as key workers to a small caseload of service users and act in a link role allocated to the team, for example Infection Control or Clinical Audits. You will be managing shifts, providing leadership to the team to ensure that all care is delivered in accordance with Richard House policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone who is empathetic and resilient, can work under pressure, and can communicate sensitively with our families and colleagues. Experience managing junior nurses and leading shifts is essential. It would also be great if you have a mentorship qualification and experience dealing with children with challenging behaviour. 

Based in the multi-cultural borough of Newham, we operate a vital 24/7 service. Shifts are 11.5 hours across weekdays and weekends. We require applicants to be available to work weekday shifts as well as weeknights, weekends and bank holidays.

Experience

-Experience in family support: Direct experience working with families facing complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges

-Multi-agency collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., health, education, social care) and coordinate holistic care plans.

-Community outreach: Experience engaging hard-to-reach families and providing accessible support in community settings.

Skills

-Able to develop effective therapeutic relationships.

-Ability to effectively amplify the voices of children and families, ensuring their needs are heard and addressed in multidisciplinary settings.

-Ability to conduct full and robust assessments where required (including service-based and risk-based assessments).

Qualification

-Experience in working with children, young people and families in a similar setting, delivering support and structured interventions for the whole family.

-Relevant professional qualification in such as Social Work, Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy, Psychology, Youth Work or Nursing and or significant relevant experience.

-The post holder will be required to hold a full driving licence and have use of a car for The Children's Society business.

-Managerial experience in working with children, young people and families in a similar setting, delivering support and structured interventions for the whole family.

Custody Navigator Location: North West Salary: £24,020 £30,790 per annum Our client’s vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. They tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support. They have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year their services support around 125,000 people. The Role They're looking for a dedicated Custody Navigator to play a pivotal role in their mission to support adult service users to reduce their likelihood of re-offending.  Their Custody Navigator's deliver support to adults that have been brought into custody due to an index offense relating to serious violence, domestic violence or substance misuse. The post holder will carry out assessments and deliver brief interventions within the custody setting focusing on areas of the service users life that may be contributing to their offending behaviours. RESPONSIBILITIES

We expect to recruit from our members and from the community of those who stammer or those who support people who stammer (speech & language therapists, family and friends).

• Recruit and induct new volunteers to support our services, working with the Services Director and the Training & Outreach Lead. 
• Work with the service managers to review training and update training modules.
• Ensure there is appropriate training, support, supervision and acknowledgement for volunteers and ensure processes comply with the charity’s values
• Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
• Support and recruit volunteer community leaders for our groups and networks; work with them to aim for consistent quality across the groups experience and develop an online training programme for leaders.  Longer term, put a funding case together to support a training weekend for community leaders.
• Keep records on which community groups are active and identify areas of need and feedback mechanisms.
• Work with Content & Communications Lead to produce regular mailings and volunteer recruitment campaigns.
• Keep up to date with legislation, best practice and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes.
• Maintain the database of volunteers and ensure all volunteers are registered members.
• Manage budgets and resources, including the reimbursement of volunteer expenses.
