Job summary

This role will predominantly support the Service Delivery Managers and Support Officer across the UK in the effective planning and delivery of services to meet the strategic objectives. The postholder will be required to work directly with young people and their families, delivering services in the North of England, alongside assisting the wider team in the administrative tasks involved in organising and setting up services and events.

You will be part of the Young People’s Services Team who provide a range of services and activities for young wheelchair users and their families.

The person

You will need to have good organisational skills with the ability to communicate and build rapport with a range of audiences. You will be liaising with our young people and families as well as venues, schools, content providers and other third-party organisations. With a good understanding of planning events and undertaking risk management, you will be responsible for all aspects of event bookings.

• Understanding and familiarity of good practice and law around child protection, disability discrimination and equal opportunities legislation, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection.

• Excellent organisational and planning skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

Summary:

The HALO Trust are looking for an experienced and driven Philanthropy and Grants Manager to lead and develop high value relationships with philanthropic donors, with a focus on Trust and Foundations (and potentially corporates). 

The Global Philanthropy Team works to secure support for the delivery of vital projects to save lives and protect livelihoods in conflict affected countries around the world, as well as build organisational resilience and support innovative areas of work.  HALO’s philanthropic income has grown significantly in recent years, driven by introductions from our network of trustees, ambassadors and advocates and our focus on strategic and transformational partnerships. We are a small team of highly skilled, experienced and driven fundraisers with a collaborative team culture. The team is supported by a Philanthropy Operations Manager, Philanthropy Assistant and Global Philanthropy Research and Insight Lead (who leads on research and due diligence). In 2024 a Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships for the Middle East will join our team to lead relationship development in this key market. 

You will join a fast-paced, fluid and entrepreneurial context, responding to opportunities while laying the critical foundations for strategic growth. 

While the role is likely to focus on Trusts and Foundations (and potentially corporates) due to our networked approach and the strategic and interconnected nature of our partnerships, supported by networks of advocates, we do not overly separate relationships between Trusts/Foundations, corporates and HNWIs.  This provides team members with varied opportunities in terms of the relationships they lead and the high-level stakeholders they work with. From briefing our Chief Executive prior to a meeting with a new potential donor for Ukraine, to engaging existing partners in the potential expansion of work in the Middle East, you will play a key role in making HALO’s lifesaving work possible.

Across seven regions, more than 1,000 local Ukrainian staff have already enabled the removal of more than 19,000 explosive items and the clearance of more 3.1 million m2 of land- bringing safety to communities and supporting Ukraine’s economic recovery.

About the role:

The HALO Trust has more than doubled in size over the last eight years by growing support from both Governments and philanthropic donors.  Global income from philanthropic donors (including the US) has significantly increased over the past five years – from circa £4 million to £15 million in 2022/23 and reaching a further peak of £44 million in 2023/24 in response to exceptional donor support for Ukraine. Unpinning this is growth in six and seven figure partnerships with major donors, corporates and foundations, initiated by our exceptionally well-connected network of trustees and ambassadors - and nurtured by our committed and professional global philanthropy team.

By nurturing and growing high value partnerships this role plays a key role in supporting the delivery of HALO’s life-saving work around the world.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead growth within a portfolio of high value (six and potentially seven figure) relationships by providing excellence in supporter stewardship and through the development and delivery of relationship strategies, in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy and Head of Global Grant Partnerships
• Support senior HALO staff, advocates and trustees to engage and inspire individuals linked to agreed relationships
• Work with international programme teams to ensure the development of high-quality proposals and reports to tight deadlines
• Contribute to departmental strategic priorities including supporting the stewardship of other major relationships, follow up of new opportunities, and the development of philanthropic products for wider use. Deputise for the Head of Global Grant Partnerships where required
• Manage donor records and correspondence in Salesforce

Essential Requirements:

• Three years' experience of personally leading successful relationships with high value philanthropic donors (Trust and Foundations, corporates or high net worth individuals or equivalent), including those giving at the six or seven figure level
• Experience of building effective relationships with advocates linked to philanthropic donors
• An excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with staff and colleagues in different cultural environments
• Outstanding written skills with the ability to work with programme and finance colleagues to design robust project proposals, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation
• Confident in working with financial information including project budgets
• Excellent written and verbal skills with strong attention to detail
• Outstanding interpersonal skills including ability to demonstrate tact, sophistication and gravitas 
• Experience of working with a fundraising database to maximise relationship development
• A commitment to HALO’s mission and objectives
• Strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to articulate HALO’s various programmes and strategies in a compelling way

As Scientific and Patient Information Manager, you will work in the Medical Education and Scientific Engagement team at Myeloma Patients Europe. Under the Department Head and MPE Leadership Team, you will oversee the following projects and activities:

European Myeloma and AL Amyloidosis Clinical Trial Navigator Management (Approximately 50%)

MPE has developed an online clinical trial search tool of European myeloma and AL amyloidosis clinical trials for patients and advocates (https:// navigator.mpeurope. org/en). This role will be responsible for the management, improvement, and promotion of this core MPE programme, including:

• Maintain up-to-date and accurate database of all industry and academic recruiting myeloma, AL amyloidosis, MGUS, and smouldering myeloma clinical trials in Europe
• Liaise with industry and academic clinical trial sponsors, clinical trial sites, and other stakeholders to maintain database up-to-date
• Liaise with web developers to manage the Navigator website, make enhancements, and fix technical issues 
• Oversee implementation of translated materials in multiple languages
• Elicit feedback from patients, family members, clinicians and other stakeholders to ensure continued improvement and enhancements
• Manage website news and content

Patient Education Management (Approximately 40%)

A key role of MPE is providing up-to-date, comprehensive, and patient friendly educational materials and tools for our members and the patient community, as well as communicating about advances in myeloma and AL amyloidosis. This role will be responsible for working across MPE to develop an educational plan and develop and deliver resources including:

• Perform efficient scientific watch (monitoring advancements in research and clinical development)
• In coordination with the Head of Medical Education and Scientific Engagement, as well as other department Heads (Patient Research, Access and Policy, Communication, Capacity Building and Advocacy), develop and prioritise a patient educational plan based on member and patient needs, scientific advances and cross-department projects
• Research, write, and develop patient education materials including factsheets, Q&As, webinars, infographics, news stories and social media content related to clinical and scientific updates
• Attending (in person or virtually) scientific congresses and developing conference and scientific meeting summaries, organising post-conference webinars for patients in collaboration with the Communication department
• Manage the execution of educational materials from conception to publication in coordination with Department Head, other MPE departments, and external stakeholders (key opinion leaders, proofreaders etc.)

Patient and member support (Approximately 5%)

• Answer medical and scientific inquiries from patients, carers and MPE members
• Seek information by liaising with appropriate stakeholders (industry, academia, MPE Medical Advisory Committee)
• Build good relationships with MPE’s members

Other 5%  -  staff meetings, annual events, support the rest of the team with clinical and scientific information.

About you

Essential

• A Bachelor’s or a Master’ s degree in a relevant scientific field
• Minimum of four years of relevant experience
• Demonstrable experience (and tested during the interview process) of writing and communicating scientific/complex information for lay audiences across different media
• Ability to understand, read and process complex scientific information (from clinical trials, scientific papers etc)
• Excellent capacity for analysis and communicating (verbally and in writing) clearly for a range of different audiences

Myeloma Patients Europe (MPE) is a pan-European organisation representing 50+ myeloma and amyloidosis patient groups from over 30+ European countries. A Board mainly composed of patients and caregivers is elected by the membership to oversee the strategy and governance of the organisation. Role Description

The role of Senior Alumni Engagement Coordinator is to develop and maintain effective and long-lasting relationships with SEO alumni, through volunteering initiatives that encourage engagement including-  creating volunteering opportunities, communications, events and stewardship. Stakeholder management is key to this role, and as such they need to be adaptable and have proven experience in managing stakeholders and multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills and a track record in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders is fundamental to this role.  

SEO London Alumni Relations Programme
SEO has a long history with our first alumni cohort graduating from the class of 2001. Our role is the nurture relationships with our vast pool of alumni, through an exciting engagement programme which includes industry networking events, social gatherings, newsletters and communications, volunteering opportunities and access to our talent pool. We create avenues for our alumni to stay connected to SEO as well as the broader network and open doors for them in industry. Creating advocates who would recommend our programmes and support the next generation of under represented students to gain access to sectors which may not be immediately available to them.

Accountabilities

VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT

• Working with the Head of Alumni Relations create our volunteering programme, providing a tangible offer for Alumni to continue to give back as members of our community as well as develop personally.  
• Co- create and maintain a Volunteering database which will sit within the CRM and allow us to track, monitor and thank our volunteers accordingly. Helping to provide a better service to our alumni who have chosen to give their time. 
• Create innovative ways through robust communication channels to attract volunteers to our roles 
• Develop an engagement plan for our alumni, how do we steward our volunteers, do they receive a volunteering newsletter? How do we help them understand the impact they are having? 
• Maintain the CRM and update with all active roles and progress  
• Provide volunteering insights on a monthly basis to track and monitor the success of our recruitment offer

COMMUNICATIONS

• Alongside the Head of Alumni Relations you will be responsible for managing the creation and delivery of the Monthly newsletter, as an active participant in editorial meetings, you will be responsible for creating content and publishing the monthly newsletter 
• As Comms lead for Social media you will be responsible for posting frequently across Linked In and Instagram to build engagement with our audience on these platforms  
• You will provide monthly reporting on Newsletter open rates, the success of our comms in engaging our alumni as well as likes/ shares/ comments on social media EVENTS

EVENTS

• Supporting the Head of Alumni Relations in the delivery of monthly events, assisting with promotion as well as representing the team where possible at the events.

• Ensuring the CRM is kept up to date with all alumni data, highlighting any issues or concerns and providing solutions where possible, adhering to GDPR at all times.

• Our alumni engagement platform is specifically designed to engage our alumni and support them in connecting and expanding their personal network. Here they will find CPD opportunities, careers support and access to industry insights.

The role: 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in our fast-growing Fundraising Team, and leading our new business efforts by identifying, cultivating and securing new corporate partnerships at the six and seven-figure level as well as playing an active part in the wider team’s endeavours to secure and uplift our corporate partnerships.

Key responsibilities:  

· Build cases for support to engage funders. This will involve working with the Corporate Partnerships Team and wider organisation to build compelling cases for support for a variety of corporate partnerships, including strategic partnerships, COTY, Cause Related Marketing campaigns and sponsorship opportunities.

· Identify corporate partnership opportunities. This will involve conducting research to manage and grow a pipeline of corporate partnerships opportunities worth £50k+ and/or with significant media and communications value.

· Develop cultivation plans for key prospects and target industries to increase support for the Childhood Trust.

· Proactively approach and build new relationships with corporates, securing and attending meetings.

· Develop and deliver high quality communications to secure new corporate partnerships. For example, this could include brochures, proposals, and pitches which communicate the charity’s work, strategy, and a case for why companies should support the Childhood Trust.

· Work collaboratively with the Account Management team to embed new partnerships to ensure they are managed appropriately.

· Contribute to setting the annual budget and carrying out regular review of the pipeline

· Contribute to the ongoing development and execution of The Childhood Trust’s strategic goals.

 Person Specification:

· Proven track record of personally soliciting corporate partnerships at the six-figure level and above

· Experience of dealing with C-suite individuals and senior volunteers

· Excellent personal presentation and communication skills, and attention to detail

· High level of numeracy, IT literacy and competence

· Experience of budget setting and monitoring

· Use of Salesforce

· Solid knowledge of governance and regulations related to fundraising and the charity sector

The role:

About the role:

The post holder will be expected to manage the effective implementation of the Accelerating Inclusive Sanitation and Hygiene Economy in Nigeria project working with the Bauchi State Programme team.

They would perform a wide range of duties using independent judgment and initiative to determine approaches or actions to take in non-routine situations. In broad terms, the job holder will provide technical, administrative and operational support for programme management (planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, knowledge management and fundraising activities) with reference to the SHF Project delivery in Bauchi state.

They will be required to interpret guidelines using policies and precedents. Most importantly S/he will be able to demonstrate sufficient professional and personal maturity to be entrusted with what in many cases will be sensitive information to the programme department and the organization at large.

Key Responsibilities:

A key responsibility of the Sanitation/Hygiene Manager will be to support the State Programme Lead by providing technical and administrative support to the Bauchi State Programme on sanitation/ hygiene to ensure the effective delivery of the Accelerating Inclusive Sanitation and Hygiene Economy in Nigeria project

General/Cross-departmental/Collaboration:

• Works closely with the State Programme Lead to ensure quality and standard delivery of the Sanitation and Hygiene Fund grant project activities.
• Lead in delivering the objectives of the SHF project in Bauchi State, especially in market-based sanitation, training of SME/entrepreneurs of sanitation and hygiene. This will also include promotions/campaigns, ODF strategies and development of WASH strategic documents and roadmaps.
• Represents WANG at State and national meetings, feeding back on progress and development on those platforms and suggesting necessary steps/advise to WANG.
• With the support of the State Team Lead, Head of Advocacy and Communication and Head of Programmes, develop appropriate activities and events to mark Global Days such as Handwashing Days, World Water Day, Menstrual Hygiene and World Toilet Days in Nigeria.
• Deliver learning products on sanitation and hygiene and engage effectively in knowledge management platforms sharing project learning on system strengthening engagements for improved sanitation and hygiene.
• Work collaboratively with the Business Development Officer as may be required to deliver project business case initiatives, especially as it relates to sanitation and hygiene.
• Support the State programme Lead in annual work planning and budget development and will be responsible for developing L3 budget for sanitation and hygiene-based activities of the Project.

Sanitation and Hygiene:

• Provide technical support that ensures sanitation facilities are hygienically and technically safe to use, are gender sensitive and inclusive and meet the needs of everyone at each stage of life.
• Promote gender-differentiated and inclusive sanitation facilities solutions that are context specific and addresses institutional gaps in schools, healthcare facilities, and public places.
• Provide technical support to hygiene interventions which must focus on behaviour change, and target people in household, community and institutional settings and expose the target population multiple times.
• Lead research processes that identify the determinants of hygiene behaviours and social norms, and use creative processes to develop context-relevant, attractive and engaging hygiene-promotion packages.
• Champion and support government to develop and implement national and state sanitation and hygiene policies, strategies and programmes building on African Sanitation Policy Guidelines
• Engage state level stakeholders to drive integration of sanitation and hygiene within work of health, nutrition and education.
• Engage with, support and contribute to sector planning processes and discussions around national sanitation approaches and strategies, adequate monitoring mechanisms and resource analysis.
• Influence government agencies, private sector, political leaders and other champions, to make sanitation and hygiene a political and social priority.

• Support governments and private sector stakeholders to develop community-based sanitation marketing structures and viable business models for sanitation and hygiene services.

• Drive engagements that will unlock the sanitation economy including developing an effective fecal sludge management framework, the Toilet Economy, the Circular Economy and a digitally driven Smart Sanitation Economy.

• With the support of the communication unit, develop case studies, position papers, policy messages /briefing notes, web articles etc. on key sanitation and hygiene issues to achieve influencing outcomes of WaterAid work in Bauchi and Nigeria.
• In collaboration with the Advocacy and Communication Team, receive and analyse legislations related to WASH and in particular sanitation and hygiene at State Houses of Assembly and prepare reports that convey impact of policy and legislative proposals on sanitation and hygiene access within specific jurisdictions of state and LGAs.
• Raise public awareness on issues of WASH, sanitation and hygiene in collaboration with Communications and Media team.
• Support the design and delivery of activities targeted at strengthening policy analysis and capacity of WANG CSO partners in sanitation and hygiene and WASH in general.
• With the support of the State Programme Lead and Strategy, Programme Effectiveness and Learning (SPEL) department document and share learning on sanitation and hygiene policy issues and civil society engagement, citizenship engagement/empowerment, rights of stakeholders, gender, equity, and inclusion.
• With the support of the WaterAid SPEL team synthesise findings and recommendations from completed research(es) conducted by WaterAid Nigeria into practical actions in sanitation and hygiene.
• Manage collaborative case studies, impact surveys and other research to adequately inform stakeholders about the critical issues in WASH service delivery and design.
• Initiate and support in dissemination events to share policy research reports in sanitation and hygiene.
• With the support of SPEL team develop, administer, and periodically evaluate institutional development tools which considers access and rights, equity & inclusion and other key components to effectively evaluate performance of the WASH sector in sanitation and hygiene.

About you: To be successful, you'll need to meet the following criteria.

Essential Criteria

• Must have a University degree in Environmental/Public Health, the Social Sciences, Development studies or related fields.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience of which at least 5 years must be in WASH Programme/project management, sanitation and hygiene promotion, community management, WASH programmes advocacy with any reputable international agency.

Our aim is to increase commercial income at Solent Mind by at least 50% over the next three years. The Commercial Manager will generate business analysis, gather market insights, and explore creative new ideas to develop new and increase existing commercial activity across the charity. These insights will feed into business plans and be used to influence and shape operational delivery, increasing both income and surplus levels.

This role is within Solent Mind’s fundraising and external engagement team, working with colleagues across the charity. It is an exciting and dynamic place to work with opportunities to contribute to wider projects and develop your skills.

About you 

You’ll be experienced in the analysis and benchmarking of the performance of commercial activity through a review of data such as sales levels, turnover, cost of sales, footfall, and walk patterns, amongst other data sources. You’ll be able to identify new creative ideas for commercial income. You will be experienced in creating clear, actionable business plans for commercial activity while supporting colleagues in the delivery of this plan ensuring sustainability of the commercial income.

Job title: Communications Officer

Location: FLEX office, Vauxhall, London - Currently flexible hybrid working with a mixture of in person and online working

Salary: £32,020 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience. This is subject to deductions for tax and national insurance.

Hours: 4 days, equivalent to 30 hours per week. This may be flexible.

Contract: 18 Months, renewable subject to funding

About FLEX:

Focus on Labour Exploitation (FLEX) is a research and policy organisation working towards an end to labour exploitation. FLEX seeks to achieve this vision through the prevention of labour abuses, protection of the rights of those affected or at risk of exploitation and by promoting best practice responses to labour exploitation through research and evidence-based advocacy. FLEX is a small organisation that packs a big punch in terms of policy change and influencing.

About the role:

In this role you will be a key part of FLEX’s policy team and responsible for leading on the implementation of FLEX’s Communications Strategy, ensuring that FLEX’s communications help progress our strategic aims. You will develop comms outputs and work with internal and external contacts to produce content and conduct strategic comms work. This role involves tracking analytics, maintaining relevant records, and working with the press and other media partners to reach our audiences. 

Key responsibilities:

Communications

• Lead on the implementation of FLEX Comms Strategy, tracking, measuring, and reporting on the effectiveness of the Charity’s communications channels.
• Liaise with team members and external colleagues, as relevant, to conduct strategic communications planning and work.
• Maintain a comms workplan for key outputs and coordinate FLEX’s communications, including research publications, policy briefings, blogs, etc.
• Manage FLEX’s website and digital media accounts, and work with the wider team to ensure a regular social media presence for FLEX.
• Draft and edit communications outputs for the FLEX team, including blogs, video scripts, and other content.
• Maintain the FLEX website, including its structure and ensuring content is up to date and relevant.
• Devise, draft and circulate external comms outputs (e.g. the FLEX’s newsletter) and explore new ways to communicate our messages to our audiences (e.g. regular mail-shots, google groups, etc.).
• Represent FLEX and act as first point of contact for press enquiries, provide background information to journalists on relevant areas, and signpost to relevant staff as per FLEX’s press protocol.
• Produce visual content using relevant software (e.g. Canva, Piktochart, etc.).
• Develop contact management systems and/or databases (e.g. dissemination lists, media contact lists, etc.).
• Undertake media monitoring of salient issues for the team and use this monitoring to identify opportunities and new contacts. 

Project management

• Design, plan, and deliver comms activities against targets;
• Manage relevant project budgets;
• Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation plan for comms objectives and produce progress and learning reports for internal and external purposes. 

Other

• Scope, draft and support fundraising bids and reports to donors relevant to this role.
• Represent FLEX and networks at external meetings, as required;
• Undertake any other duties within the context of the role as may be determined by your line manager.
