Major Gifts Manager Jobs

This interesting role will support the theatre’s ambition to increase our revenue fundraising and development capabilities. In particular the post holder will be responsible for researching, cultivating, preparing applications for and stewarding Charitable Trusts and Foundations to raise funds for our Community and Outreach work and Play Your Part capital campaign. The focus will be on grants of up to £5,000. The post will also offer administrative support to the department focused on mid-level giving (Vanbrugh Supporters and Guardian Angels).

The post holder will be responsible for the accurate recording of income related to Trusts and Foundations, working closely with the Head of Creative Learning and Director of Development (DoD) to identify fundable propositions within the theatre. You will assist in the planning and delivery of donor events for Vanbrugh Supporters, Guardian Angels and current and potential Major Donors, helping to ensure a culture of continuous cultivation and engagement.  You will work closely with the DoD to enable the charity’s artistic, community and organisational aspirations.

This post is full time, though for the right candidate, a pro-rata 4-day equivalent will be considered.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Database and record keeping

· Assisting in the maintaining of donor records on the CRM.

· Recording and reporting on donor activity as directed.

· Responsible for maintaining financial data, and production of written and verbal reports as directed.

Office administration

· First point of contact for external enquiries.

· Internal liaison with the Marketing Office and Finance Office.

· Assist within the Development Department, carrying out other duties as reasonably required.  

· Administration of the Development Committee including minute taking.

Fundraising

· Write applications and evaluation reports to Trusts and Foundations for grants up to £5k in support of the theatre’s activity with a major focus on the work of the Creative Learning Programme.

· Assist with running fundraising appeals as required.

· Maintain records of funds applied for and grants awarded; manage a calendar of application and report deadlines.

· Work with the Marketing Office and Finance Office to provide funding information for promotional purposes and to report gifts and grants received.

· Researching prospective Trust and Foundation supporters and assist with the identification of potential sources of grant funding.

· As required, assist with the production of case for support literature for funding applications.

· Gather briefing and background information for face-to-face prospect meetings.

· Assist with cultivation and stewardship events as required.

· Assist with donor needs and requirements, including booking of tickets for shows for higher level Vanbrugh members and Major Donors.

· Working with the DoD and Fundraising Associate to increase the number and value of Vanbrugh supporters annually to agreed targets, ensuring regular communications with donors and Vanbrugh members to enable them to recognise the importance of their support including the quarterly newsletter, Centre Stage.

· Stewardship and cultivation of the Guardian Angels, the theatre’s regular giving scheme for lower-level donors. Working with colleagues aiming to increase the number of Guardian Angels annually and increasing their base level donations.

· Work with colleagues in Box Office, Marketing, Catering and Front of House in the facilitation of events for the department and encourage and support a culture of fundraising within the Theatre.

· Demonstrate an understanding of the theatre’s values, ethos and mission and to promote these through everyday practice in the role.

About this role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Reprieve team as our Head of Development- Grants and Major Givers, covering parental leave. With the support of the Deputy Director, Fundraising (DDF), you will lead the Development Team to fundraise for Reprieve, and our sibling organisation, Reprieve US, through multiple income streams. You will be responsible for managing a number of key donor relationships, while leading a dynamic and collaborative team to deliver against income targets across trusts, statutory, high value donors (HVD), events, awards and corporate sources. With at least five years fundraising experience, you will bring specialist expertise in at least one of the following areas:  trusts and foundations, statutory or high value donors. 

This is a pivotal moment for fundraising at Reprieve. The fundraising landscape in the UK has been affected by the economic crisis, and Reprieve is responding to this new context by remaining agile and proactively seeking new opportunities and funding sources. Our aim for the next 1 – 3 years is to maintain our current income and ensure Reprieve can resource our critical work at the same level. Joining at this key moment, you will be energised to bring your skills, experience, and knowledge to lead and support your team to steward and secure income from current funders, while strategising how to build income from new sources.

Reporting to the DDF, you will manage three Development Officers, ensuring they have the guidance, support, and infrastructure they need to fundraise effectively. You will work with the Head of Finance, the DDF and the Joint Executive Director (JED) to monitor and feed into organisational, programme and project budgets and income projections.  You will also collaborate with the wider fundraising team, including the Head of Mass Engagement, who leads our public fundraising (digital, emails, challenge events, regular giving); the finance team; the casework team, and Reprieve’s network of partners and fellows.

Contract, Location and Salary 

This is a one year, fixed term contract from May 2025 covering parental leave. The salary is £61,003 per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 40% per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK currently and for the duration of the contract, which will be checked prior to interview.

Reprieve works across a number of jurisdictions; as such, this is a role that may require work outside of core office hours from time to time. This role also requires availability for face-to-face meetings with donors and other staff members in London on a regular basis.

Finance Officer - Income and Payments

The role involves correctly accounting for all payments and income including district assessment, ensuring that all sums due to the Church have been duly received and where necessary, banked intact and promptly and correctly accounted for. In this new role you will be responsible for overseeing the UKST’s income generation strategy, ensuring the growth of diverse revenue streams to support the charity’s mission. You will lead all fundraising efforts, partnership development, donor stewardship, and income forecasting, ensuring that the charity is financially sustainable while expanding its reach and impact.

• Income Strategy & Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive income generation strategy that aligns with the charity’s goals and mission.
  • Lead, inspire, and manage the income generation team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Set and monitor income targets, ensuring the charity meets its financial goals through diverse income channels.

• Fundraising & Donor Relations:
  • Oversee and grow all fundraising initiatives including major donors, trusts & foundations, corporate partnerships, events, individual giving, and digital fundraising.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key donors, stakeholders, and partners to ensure long-term, sustainable support.
  • Develop strategies for donor engagement, stewardship, and retention.

  4. Experience in leading and managing teams to achieve ambitious targets.

Southmead Hospital Charity is looking for an experienced Individual Giving and Corporate Partnerships Manager to build on already successful programmes, with enough scope and flexibility to take them to the next level. 

This is an exciting time to work for an official NHS charity. We've got ambitious plans to grow our income and impact over the next 12 months, including launching a new fundraising appeal to support victims of stroke and neurological injuries. You'll work collaboratively across the team to identify opportunities to reach new audiences, maximise awareness and leverage our existing supporter base to help us reach our goal. 

With the help of one direct report, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of our individual giving and corporate partnerships programme to meet annual income targets. This includes strategic oversight of our individual giving, regular giving and grateful patient programmes.

You’ll get the chance to work as part of our small and dynamic team, with a variety of flexible working arrangements. We're looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a passion for our cause and demonstrable experience of developing effective strategies to increase awareness and raise income from individuals and companies.
