About us

Who we are

The Connexional Team of the Methodist Church in Britain

The Methodist Church seeks to worship and serve God, and the Connexional Team supports the Church in fulfilling its calling to the best of its ability. As such we perform some of the critically important functions of any organisation (e.g. IT, Communications, Finance, Human Resources, etc.).

Not all members of the Connexional Team are Methodists, nor are all Christian or required to be so, but all of us commit ourselves to be a Team.

We implement some of the decisions of the Conference and Council; we take to the Council and the Conference new ideas that help the Church fulfil its purposes; we work with others in pursuit of good things for our society and our communities; we enable, guide, resource, listen and respond to Methodist people.

Our culture and values

The vision for the Connexional Team is to be a highly professional and distinctively Christian workforce to assist the Methodist Church in furthering its purposes, in particular enabling it better to fulfil its calling of responding to God’s love in Christ and working out its discipleship in mission and worship.

The Connexional Team shared values include:

  • Being accountable
  • Valuing our well-being
  • Communicating well
  • Respecting others
  • Providing quality service
  • Striving for excellence

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

The Methodist Church is an inclusive and supportive employer. We are actively committed to encouraging applications from people of all backgrounds.
