Her Centre, a women’s advice and advocacy service in Greenwich, provides advocacy for women who have experienced domestic and sexual violence, working in our accredited domestic abuse service. 

After 17 years our current CEO is retiring, and we are seeking a woman with the right skills, experience and commitment to continue to support and develop our vital service. The new post will be full time 32 hours a week over 4 days. At least 3 days are needed in the office to build team rapport and oversee the service. 

With a strong and experienced management team the new CEO will need to focus on fundraising. She will have the skills to bring in revenue from trusts, maintain good links with Greenwich council, and facilitate the trustee meetings and decision making.

This is a unique opportunity to take over the leadership of the Development team at the Royal Drawing School.  It will require an exceptional person to build on the achievements of the past and leverage the opportunities that the upcoming 25th anniversary presents. 

The Royal Drawing School provides heavily subsidised drawing tuition at the highest level to over 2,500 people each year, bringing arts education to all, and is in a unique position as they plan their five year organisational strategy and a significant campaign to launch later next year. Once in post, the new Director of Development will design and develop their own fundraising strategy and plans.

Reporting to the Principal of the School and working closely with the Founding Artistic Director and Chair of the Board, you will lead a small team to drive efforts to secure philanthropic support for the School.  You will work closely with other members of the Senior Leadership Team to contribute to the strategic direction of the School, and play a key role in achieving ambitious fundraising targets.

The DARS Data and Migrations Team, a part of the wider DARS Support Centre based in the University Development Office, is responsible for modelling, monitoring, assuring and improving the quality of data held in the DARS database. We also provide user support within a wide range of areas, including migrations, reporting, compliance and governance.

Reporting to the DARS Data & Migrations Team Lead, you will assist with important data-related inquiries, work on reporting and analysis of data quality issues on DARS, and provide expert guidance to existing and newly-migrated teams on the best ways to assure and maintain the quality of their data. The role will also involve supporting the building of and transition to a new CRM system and the delivery of future data migration projects. Your contribution will be essential for the effectiveness of the activities supporting Development (fundraising) and Alumni Relations across the University of Oxford.

Alongside artistic excellence, fundraising has been vital to AAM’s success since it registered as a charity in 2000. The orchestra’s financial strength stems from the ongoing generosity of an ever-expanding family of supporters who donated more than £430k last year to sustain AAM’s work.

Overall, the orchestra is funded by a mixture of income generated by concerts in the UK and abroad, royalties and other residuals, Orchestra Tax Relief and a large group of private donors (individuals and trusts & foundations). AAM does not receive regular public funding, though the current season marks the beginning of a four-year collaboration with the Arts and Humanities Research Council which will have a significant impact on the core funding of the organisation, as well as our ability to deliver several extraordinary projects.

Individual giving at AAM is supported by three membership schemes: Academy, Associates and Friends. Together, these make up the orchestra’s closest group of supporters. These individuals are at the heart of our work, and we are committed to developing deep and long-lasting relationships with them all. Alongside membership, the AAM Legacy Circle was established in 2013 to recognise AAM supporters who have informed us of their intention to remember the orchestra in their wills. Dame Emma Kirkby, one of AAM’s most distinguished collaborators, is the Circle’s Founder Patron. To date, the vast majority of individual giving has been from UK residents, though we plan to explore investment strategies in the coming years to increase our presence in North America, hopefully driving capacity for giving there.

AAM has an established track record of generous support from trusts & foundations, as well as from public funders. The orchestra was an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation from 2012-15 and has received numerous Grants for the Arts and other support from that funding body. About the role

A thorough Membership Review was undertaken during 2024 to address several key Linnean Society objectives in the new strategy: (1) to grow, diversify and support our members to expand their capacity in support of our mission; (2) to develop income streams including philanthropy and legacies to ensure financial sustainability and expand our programmes; and (3) to mobilise our membership to be ambassadors and advocates for nature.

The appointment of this new post is one of the recommendations in the Review. The postholder will develop and implement a new membership and fundraising strategy that delivers the above Linnean Society strategic objectives, in consultation with the CEO. The Review will provide useful data and insights towards the delivery of these strategic objectives.

The post-holder will be responsible for membership development (acquisition, retention and advancement) of our community of members, comprising Fellows and Associates, and play a vital role in helping to build a vibrant, active and engaged community. They will also be responsible for developing a donor journey, including a clear and compelling case for support, and a legacy giving programme. 

As this is a new role for the Linnean Society, the postholder will have the opportunity to have a real impact, helping to grow and protect the Society. They will report to the CEO and are expected to be a collaborative and active member of the Senior Management Team.

Main Duties

Strategic

• Working with the CEO and colleagues across the Society, the postholder will be responsible for developing and implementing a new Membership and Fundraising Strategy, with associated plans and budgets.
• Set, manage and monitor annual membership and fundraising plans and budgets – including activities, targets and return on investment – and provide quarterly reports.
• Develop the Linnean Society’s donor journey and ‘ladder of giving’, promoting giving from one-off donations through to higher level gifts and legacies.
• Develop a compelling case for support.
• Act as Secretary to the Fellowship Committee, engaging new Fellows in the mission of the Society and identifying those who can support in a significant way.

Operational

• Chair the new Membership Working Group comprising staff from across the Society to deliver the recommendations in the Membership Review.
• Responsibility for the entire membership journey, managing all services for acquisition, engagement and retention, including member communications.
• Act as first point of contact for all members’ queries in relation to their membership and be the membership champion within the Society
• Work closely with the Events & Communications Manager to devise an annual events schedule that appeals to existing and potential future members.
• Maintain accurate membership, donor and legacy data and records using the Society’s CRM system. 
• Conduct regular membership surveys to understand what our members value about their engagement with the Society.

• Enable the donor journey with dedicated stewardship.
• Create a legacy ‘circle’ programme with ongoing communications and activities to engage and retain legacy ‘intends’.

• Perform data interrogation to discover prospects, trends or customer level insight, practicing and nurturing a culture of horizon scanning and innovation.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Main Roles & Responsibility to include:

As part of the Supporter Care team, the Supporter Care Assistant will help provide an excellent supporter experience and through every interaction will seek to build meaningful relationships with our supporters which increases their level of satisfaction and engagement. Whether you are handling donations, maintaining a high-quality database, responding to various supporter enquiries and fulfilling their requests, responding to complaints and feedback, or providing supportive administrative services to the department, the delivery of outstanding customer service to our many supporters will remain at the heart of your role and be the focus of your efforts.  Over the coming year ShelterBox is transitioning to a new CRM system (Dynamics 365), and the job holder will be involved in supporting team SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and being active participant in adopting new changes and learning new processes.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

· Delivering a consistent and high quality of supporter engagement through all enquiry channels including inbox, phone calls, social media direct messages and post.

· Managing the ongoing relationship with supporters as they progress in their ShelterBox journey.

· Championing the supporter voice throughout the organisation via meetings, communications and daily interaction.

· Processing and acknowledging all donations that have come in through a range of sources including but not limited to post, website, standing orders, direct debits and financial reconciliations.  

· Maintaining accurate gift aid records.

· Ensuring supporter records are kept up to date and data entry is accurate, recording all communications on our CRM database. 

· Producing written correspondence such as bespoke letters and responding to feedback or complaints.

· Aiding the Supporter Care Manager, Supporter Care Team Leader & Supporter Care Officer in project work that will develop the team’s approach to supporter engagement.

· Supporting volunteers within the team. 

· Taking an active part in ensuring your own personal development. 

· Contributing new ideas and continually seeking to improve processes to drive efficiency and improve supporter experience.

· Undertaking general admin tasks related to supporter communications such as filing, scanning etc.

General Duties

· Participate in the day-to-day work of the organisation – such as reporting, attending team meetings as required, and taking a flexible approach, following all policies and procedures and contributing to the review of these as required.

· As part of an emergency organisation there will be times when you will be required to work evenings and weekends at short notice in response to a disaster.

· Occasionally represent the work of ShelterBox at events to members of the public and supporters.

Please note: This is a Cornwall Based role with at least 2 days a week in the office in Truro
