Oxford Hospitals Charity is helping to transform care in your local hospitals. As the Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Officer, you will play a vital role in our friendly fundraising team, delivering vital funding for patients and staff in Oxfordshire's hospitals.
Bringing your skills in customer engagement and project admin, you will be responsible for the day to day delivery of our legacy and in memory fundraising programme; connecting with supporters and donors to create and deliver meaningful and engaging donor journeys for them.
Working within a small fundraising team, you will be the first point of contact within the charity for bereaved families and legacy pledgers, bringing a warm and friendly approach to your work to build strong relationships with donors, colleagues and external suppliers. We are seeking a Patrons and Legacies Manager to join our dedicated Development team.
In this pivotal role, you will:
· Oversee and manage the Library’s regular giving patrons programme - develop and implement strategies to maximise patrons’ income, retain and increase the number of patrons
· Oversee and manage the Library’s legacy giving programme, develop and implement strategies to promote legacy giving, steward legacy pledgers and grow the number of legacy pledgers

About you
You will have:

Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Legacy Manager with demonstrated experience, preferably within the charity sector or comparable commercial environment. The role will involve primarily working from home and must be situated in or near London to attend regular in person meetings with key staff.
Key responsibilities
Take responsibility for a portfolio of around 300 legacy pledgers in order to deepen relationships and offer excellent stewardship to ensure that legacy pledgers feel valued by STUK and their pledge is retained.
Act as the first point of contact for legacy enquiries, both internal and external, responding with authority, sensitivity and diplomacy, so that legacy enquirers and intenders choose to leave STUK a gift in their Will.
Plan and deliver a programme of marketing and advertising to promote legacy giving and grow our pipeline of legacy supporters. This will include contributing to campaign strategy development; producing marketing materials including newsletters; and consulting with the Head of Individual Giving re legacy mailings.
Undertake general legacy communications including developing a tangible legacy vision, make phone calls, arrange one to one meetings and write personal notes/letters.
Organise at least 2 – 3 legacy events per year including post-event follow-up.
Organise legacy stewardship activities such as recognition mechanisms.
Liaise with and oversee the administrative work of Legacy Link, our legacy administrators.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all legacy activity on Salesforce and in shared files.
Provide useful data insight and analysis producing regular statistical, qualitative and financial reports of legacy activity.
Manage in memoriam marketing.
Travel
There is limited but regular travel into London for regular team meetings as well as periodic travel as needed around the UK for meetings with legacy pledgers and to organise legacy events.
Required Education and Experience
5+ years of relevant experience with exposure to legacy marketing and liaison with legacy enquirers, considerers and pledgers preferred.
A proven history of generating significant growth in key legacy metrics such as numbers of legacy enquirers and pledgers.
Demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships and in supporting senior management and programme staff, to execute donor and engagement strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and donors.
Extremely detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
Able to take ownership of a process and to use problem solving skills to resolve issues.
Able to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment.
Able to function both independently and as part of a global team.
Familiar with the MS Office and donor management systems. Knowledge of Salesforce and First Class preferred.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for this required level of education.

We’re looking for a Legacy Manager to join our team
Salary: Circa £40,000
Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid
Hours: Full time and permanent. 35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am – 6pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

You’ll craft compelling propositions that give pledgers confidence their legacy gift to LCM will create a lasting gospel impact. The purpose of this role is to lead on the day-to-day delivery of legacy marketing campaigns supporting the charity’s ambitious transformational growth plans to drive voluntary net income.
Working across multiple channels including digital, DRTV, telephone fundraising and offline, this role will lead on working with internal stakeholders and agency partners day to day to deliver legacy marketing campaigns on time, to budget, meeting KPIs.

The salary for this position is £34,821.
Key Responsibilities
- You will take responsibility for day-to-day campaign management across the legacy marketing programme through defining campaign briefs, timing plans and KPIs against agreed budgets, for the free wills programme and legacy marketing campaigns through DRTV, telephone, digital and direct mail.
- You will manage third party agencies in delivery of day-to-day programme actions and to ensure that all activity reflects the values of the charity.
- You will be knowledgeable about data, its analysis to support the creation of supporter journeys taking appropriate opportunities to inspire legacy giving.
- You will be an advocate for legacy giving and contribute to the wider Fundraising team, taking a proactive approach to working in a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- You will work collaboratively across the directorate to ensure programmes are integrated and that opportunities to maximise lifetime value of supporters are leveraged to achieve wider fundraising impact goals.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience in campaign or project management
- Experienced in tracking and reporting on performance, including budget management, taking remedial steps to address under-performance.
- Strong knowledge of legacy marketing techniques
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and campaign delivery management skills to drive effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders and agencies
- Confident in data analysis to help inform supporter journey engagement strategies

You will be able to grow and maintain relationships with our supporters, provide information, host events and give support to people as they think about leaving a gift in their Will to the RSPB. You will aim to increase the number of people leaving a gift in their Will and work closely with other professional contacts including our reserve teams to grow our in-memoriam offer and increase resulting income.

You will have experience working to targets and Key Performance Indicators and delivering virtual and face to face events. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. What’s the role about?
The focus of the role will be to provide specialist advice to supporters who are exploring leaving a charitable gift in their Will, with the aim of increasing the future amount and value of legacies.
Other key result areas for the role will include:
- Deliver high-quality bespoke stewardship to legacy supporters
- Deliver tailored supporter events and speak at organisational events
- Responsible for maintaining accurate file notes, relevant legal documents and supporter data on the Supporter System
- Develop relationships both internally and with key sector professionals within the Central England area, to provide advice and promote the benefits of legacy and in-memoriam giving
What we need from you
We need someone who can show empathy and responsiveness when dealing with supporters. You will need to be highly organised, self-motivated, have rigorous attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills. You will need to show good leadership and networking skills. You should be able to define and clarify complex situations by gathering facts and making justifiable decisions
The role will involve working collaboratively with internal departments, external clients and our reserves teams to reach and exceed targets and KPIs.
