As Project Support Officer you will support the Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training, giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our West Midlands projects as and when required to aid development and growth within the region.
Each of our Projects is run by Project Leaders (volunteer position) and supported by Regional Managers through recruitment and training of volunteers. You will support the Regional Managers so that they can manage more projects, knowing that you have helped with the embedding of volunteers, along with supporting expansion plans within their areas. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new Project Leaders for the Area.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to external people about our Projects.You will also be a good organizer, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within multiple Projects. You will have a passion for food and cooking, and be committed to our objectives and ethics.
This role will require some attendance at our Community Meals projects, to support with delivery as necessary, which will include some evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role.

The Role
The Membership Administrator plays a central role, working closely with the Member Events and Partnerships Manager, membership team and members. Background
This is an exciting new opportunity to develop a strategic approach to VCSE voice and influence across the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership to support good population health and health inequality ambitions, specifically relating to healthy minds, children young prole and families and healthy communities. These are three of the five priorities for our Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership.
Our Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership, in collaboration with Bradford Council and VCSE infrastructure support organisations, have commissioned a new transitional VCSE Activation Contract.
This contract will:
- Strengthen the Sector – through improving the capability of, and address weaknesses in, organisations that directly divert citizens from the statutory health and social care system.
- Activate the Voice and Influence of Citizens and the VCSE Sector to ensure insight and experience of diverse citizens and VCSE organisations inform and support activity which takes pressure off front line health and social care services.
- And will seek out the voices and insight of the most marginalised communities and those of the VCSE organisations that are working with and supporting those groups to achieve the outcome described above. This citizen voice is a key theme to how we make decisions across our place – Bradford District and Craven.

We are hiring! We have a job vacancy for a Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator.
Shine has a membership of over 13,500 members living with SpinaBifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,000 associated members.
In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with NPH across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just under 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows.
We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.

Staff management:

1. Evaluate existing support for members living with NPH and their families/ carers within Shine

· Develop and deliver an annual programme of events and peer support groups for members with NPH and their families and carers
· Oversee social media, Facebook and WhatsApp support groups
· Organise steering groups, providing opportunities for Shine members to guide the development of the service, and engage in consultations and research
· Develop partnership opportunities and closer working relationships with health professionals, statutory organisations and charities

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser or a candidate with transferrable skills who is looking for their next challenge.
This fundraising role is varied and fun and may suit someone who has worked in fundraising for a few years and understands the diverse range of responsibilities that come with the role. You should be able to work well in a small team and be prepared to adapt cheerfully to changes and challenges that may crop up daily.
Your main area of responsibility will be for generating income by writing proposals to Trust and Foundations, working with service managers across the country to research and build compelling cases for support across the organisation.
We are looking for someone who can secure multi-year grants and core funding support through creating high value applications and also have the skills to research and fire off multiple applications to smaller trusts for small projects on a daily basis.
Experience in meeting fundraising targets would be useful but not essential. An important aspect of the role will be maintaining up to date reporting systems of approaches and successes and fulfilling grant obligations to funders.
As part of a small fundraising team and you will also work with your colleagues to further develop the Walk for Autism fundraising campaign and be instrumental in developing a high quality supporter journey using email, texts and social media. Developing digital fundraising is one of our main strategies so a willingness to learn new skills in this area is a key part of the role.
You will be required to work outside of office hours occasionally with some travel to services around the UK. It would be helpful to have a driving licence but it’s not essential. We are working with an amazing mission led organisation to support them in finding a great Help Desk Advisor. The role would see you using those great listening and problem solving skills, and supporting people in crisis, and vulnerable people.
You will be working in a hybrid way, with 2-3 days per week in the London office, working with other advisors so that you can support each other, and increase your learning. The role also home working for the remainder of the week, enabling great flexibility.
The role will see you managing multiple referrals at any one time. Your comfort in moving at pace from one conversation to another, whilst ensuring that the information that you provide is correct, and fully understood will be key. You will also be learning which cases to refer to other areas. There is great training in place, and the right candidate will be fully supported in getting up to speed in this hugely impactful role.

Room to Heal is an established therapeutic community in London. We support refugees and people seeking asylum, many of whom are torture survivors, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance, in the context of a community of survivors. Our approach recognises the political context of our community members’ multiple and ongoing experiences of trauma and marginalisation including in their home country, on their journey to, and within, the UK. We offer long term and holistic support.

We are looking for a Director (maternity cover) who:
- Understands the experiences of our members in order to sustain Room to Heal’s therapeutic community and ensure the safety and appropriateness of all of our services
- Has awareness and interest in psychotherapy and group work
- Makes strategic decisions that centre the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum alongside maintaining the sustainability of the organisation
- Has the drive, care and vision to create new opportunities to support refugees and people seeking asylum and to learn and share experiences through external networks and partnerships in the UK and internationally
- Is able to speak with authenticity and challenge injustices knowing directly what the impact is due to own lived experience
- Can lead by consensus and collaboration and has a strong belief in the therapeutic benefits of community.
Hours: 7.5 hours per day (typically 9.30am – 5.30 pm with a half hour for lunch) 5 days a week. We will also consider 4 days per week, salary pro-rata’d
Salary: £45,000 - 50,000 per annum (full time salary)
Start-date: Autumn 2024 with 8-10 weeks handover with the current Director
Pension and benefits: automatic enrolment pension scheme, 4% employer contributions and 4% employee contributions
Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays

We are seeking an experienced Head of People to drive forward the HR Strategy, manage the People Team, and support a growing Network of Youth Zones.
This is a permanent role offering hybrid working.
Position: Head of People

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of People, a key focus of this role will be to provide hands-on management to an experienced People consisting of a People Support Manager and Talent Acquisition Coordinator.
However, it is much wider than team management; it is about relationships. Relationships with internal colleagues, relationships with Network contacts, and relationships with third party suppliers. The role is seen as a crucial support function for the youth zones, and it is imperative that you are able to build rapport quickly and be an approachable and knowledgeable source of expertise and support for colleagues.
Some of your key duties include:
- Providing professional management, support and development to the People team
- Supporting the delivery and implementation of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy
- Coaching, supporting and advising on complex ER matters; upskilling managers with regular training and support
- Supporting senior level recruitment across the charity’s Network
- Supporting the continued launch of PeopleHR
About You
You must have proven HR Leadership experience and have managed varied HR Teams. If this experience has been gained from organisations that service young people – even better!
Other experience and skills you will need include:
- Experience of managing and overseeing HR systems and budgets
- Experience of promoting and supporting a coaching culture
- In-depth knowledge of employment law
- The ability to develop and nurture relationships across the organisation
- A proactive and agile work ethic
- A curious mindset, to think innovatively and rationally about concerns and come up with creative solutions
- The ability to accept and provide feedback, be challenged on your advice, and work well under pressure
