Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally.
Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level. This is an important strategic role within our organisation. You will lead and manage the Somerset Diverse Communities (SDC) team in CCS which works with ethically diverse communities in Somerset. About the role:
This is a hybrid role, working from home, the Merton Civic Centre with travel to the Victim Support office in Islington. As the Merton Domestic Abuse Service Manager, you will: -
- Work in partnership with other professionals to ensure that risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met.
- Develop and maintain effective partnership working with statutory, private and voluntary agencies to address the issue of domestic abuse.
- Represent the service at operational multi-agency meetings, feeding back initiatives and outcomes to the team and contribute to the evaluation of the quality of activities these services offer.
- Provide a single point of proactive and regular contact for a range of professionals involved in the case of the service user.
- Comply with child protection and information sharing policies, ensuring that service users and colleagues understand and comply with the service's safeguarding framework.
- Manage a small case load focusing on high risk survivors of domestic abuse to provide, medium to long term service, based on thorough risk assessment and individual support and safety planning.
- Contribute to regular service reviews which include monitoring data, evaluations, intake and output policy, and practice and work load reviews for the whole service.

About the role
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Trusts & Foundations specialist to expand EngineeringUK’s relationships in this field and develop grant-funding as a core income stream for our work. We receive significant funding from grant funders already but are looking to scale this income stream. This gives the successful candidate the opportunity to have an early impact and have influence over the direction of our strategy for grant-funding.
Whilst this is currently the sole role focusing on this area, you would be supported by the Director of Business Development & Partnerships and the Chief Executive, both of whom have experience in this type of fundraising. Senior level engagement and support means we can be flexible to the level of experience of the successful candidate, making this role a great opportunity for an experienced Manager wanting to take ownership of a strategy, or for a Specialist looking to take their next step and develop their strategic skills.
The Trusts & Foundations Manager role will be part of the Business & Industry team (11 people), who have responsibility for all funding and industry relationships across EngineeringUK. The team works strategically with stakeholders across the engineering, technology and education sectors, to support our mission to increase the number and diversity of young people choosing engineering and technology careers. Opportunities for funding include our bursary programme, in-school programmes such as EnergyQuest and Climate Schools, Big Bang Programme, supporting our community of Code signatories, and developing new programmes.
Once funding is secured, the postholder will account manage the relationship and see the project through to contract-end. Therefore, in addition to being able to secure new funding, interest in and experience of delivering excellent account management is essential.
Whilst the core focus of the role will be on developing relationships with trusts & foundations, there may also be some opportunities to explore key relationships we hold in government, particularly for some larger projects we have on the horizon.
The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and may involve some travel in the UK. We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a baseline of 2 days (or 40%) a week in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames. Essential Skills / Competencies
- Experience of identifying, securing and delivering grant-funding from trusts, foundations and/or government.
- Good understanding of the grant-giving environment, with the ability to quickly identify the spaces and conversations your organisation should be engaging in.
- Experience of building and prioritising a pipeline.
- Confidence securing introductions to new people and organisations in-person, virtually, and through written correspondence.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to condense detailed information and present it in a compelling and persuasive way for a variety of audiences.

To collaborate colleagues within the Research and Analysis team, across CSE and external partners with project management of software and modelling projects, helping to schedule work within and across projects. AKF(UK) Senior Partnerships Managers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying and cultivating new funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. They engage with European, Asian and North American government and foundation donors to mobilise resources for ten multi-sector profit and not-for-profit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. In addition, Senior Partnership Managers are responsible for reporting and donor relations on a portfolio of select grants implementing across AKDN themes and geographies in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners. Resource Mobilisation
• Support the Partnerships team to broker and cultivate new relationships and strengthen existing ones with institutional (bilateral and multilateral) and foundations donors
• Lead the development and review of concept notes and proposals (solicited and unsolicited), including logical frameworks and budgets, in close coordination with the Global Programme Team (GPT) and country teams.

About the role
Sightsavers is currently seeking an experienced Evidence Uptake and Learning individual to join our team and manage a range of research evidence uptake and learning activities across the organisation. This role is key in ensuring that evidence from research and other data sources is easily accessible, appropriately stored, and used by different stakeholders within and outside Sightsavers.
High quality evidence and evidence uptake are critical for our programmes and advocacy. We hold an independent research organisation status by UK Research and Innovation and make significant investments in generating evidence from research, evaluations and routine programme systems.
The post holder will work closely with different teams across the organisation to ensure that effective user-friendly mechanisms and systems for evidence uptake and learning are in place and widely used.
Further duties include:
- Manage and continuously improve existing mechanisms for consolidation, storage and sharing of research evidence produced at Sightsavers, including evidence trackers, dashboards, websites, and online libraries.
- Facilitate dissemination of Sightsavers research internally to support learning; organise learning seminars and workshops; produce and disseminate the Research team's bi-monthly newsletter.
- Manage the curation of content for a research evidence library and produce a bi-monthly research evidence newsletter to facilitate the use of research evidence across the organisation.
