PROJECT MANAGER (FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS)

Salary: £37,000 - £43,000 per annum

Contract: 12-Month fixed-term contract

Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week (we are open to 4 days per week and Compressed Hours)

This is a unique opportunity to project manage the delivery of Cancer Research UK's fundraising campaigns which raises approximately £50 million for our life saving research. You will be responsible for an innovative and sector leading portfolio of activities, working with teams across the organisation from Marketing and Technology to Legal and Supporter Services. You will have autonomy to change and improve existing ways of working, with the aim of supporting our mission of beating cancer sooner.

We are looking for someone who is highly experienced in project managing the delivery of products, public events, or campaigns and thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

What will I be doing?

• Leading multi-disciplinary teams (including social media, public relations, supporter services, legal, fulfilment and procurement) to deliver specific projects within the Fundraising Campaigns portfolio, managing requirements, plans, risks, and issues

• Planning and leading project meetings and workshops making sure minutes, agendas and pre-reads are produced as required

• Implementing operational and technical solutions to enable campaign delivery

• Constructively challenging teams to encourage continuous process innovation and improvement

• Building excellent working relationships with internal teams and external partners and suppliers.

What skills are we looking for?

• Experience of managing complex projects involving multiple partners / suppliers

• Formal experience of best practice project management principles (preferably in a Programme environment) & ideally a formal qualification in project or programme management

• Experience/knowledge of financial controls and budget management

• Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to effectively chair or manage a meeting to deliver the required outcome within the time allocated

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - a skilled stakeholder manager who can influence and negotiate effectively within a matrix environment and can explain / present complex information effectively

• Comfortable with ambiguity

• A keen understanding of technical issues and constraints but able to work and communicate with both technical and non-technical people

Summary of Role

The Regional Head of Middle East Programmes supports the organisation’s programmatic efforts with a focus on developing and implementing strategy for the Middle East region whilst also providing hands-on support to day-to-day grants management, partner management and donor coordination and reporting.

The following role works closely with the Director of Programmes and Head of Programmes (Protracted Contexts). The role will also regularly work as the intermediary lead with the established Collective for Refugee Leadership in MENA (CRLM), which is a group of donors and thought partners focused on advancing refugee leadership and support for refugees across the Middle East and North Africa.

You will be highly flexible and adaptive, able to respond effectively and in line with our emergency protocols to humanitarian crises as required, whilst also supporting longer-term protracted programmes work. You will have strong project and grants management experience and highly effective administration skills. You drive efficiency and innovation and provide senior management guidance on international projects, as well as high-quality implementation. You will address challenges and issues in all aspects of project implementation and ensure timely and appropriate solutions, including the identification and mitigation of programmatic risks. You will also demonstrate strong people management skills, with an ability to provide both task management and strategic guidance (in addition to more holistic line management support) to several team members.

Responsibilities

 Grant Management

● Manage the Choose Love Middle East team to ensure smooth and efficient grant-making for our work in the Middle East

● This includes leading on, and managing a small team, to:

▪ Work closely with partners to gather, review and track due diligence documentation required for granting to partner organisations.

▪ Support the maintenance of grants systems to track grant making progress e.g start and end dates, reporting deadlines, no cost extensions etc.

▪ Draft and/ or review grant agreements between Choose Love and partner organisations and ensure any grant amendments or addendums have correct and accurate information

▪ Review reports from partner organisations to ensure effective use of Choose Love funds

▪ Work with the Data Lead (Programmes) to review Middle East reporting data received from partners and assess outputs, impact and successes from grant-making in the region. This will include being closely involved in impact reporting within the CRLM initiative.

▪ Working with the Director of Programmes / Head of  Programmes  to attend monitoring  trips to the region

▪ Support the Safeguarding Lead on Safeguarding organisational development  for the region as needed

▪ Problem-solving with partners on how to get funding into challenging contexts

Partner Relationship Management

 ● Build meaningful, effective ongoing relationships with new and existing partners.

● Lead partner calls and track key takeaways and actions to share internally.

● Lead on regular check-ins with existing, long-term partners.

● Respond to ad hoc needs arising from partners - including clarification/support on the application process and support with reporting.

● Maintain up-to-date understanding of the needs of partners.

● Supporting Choose Love Fundraising

● Support with narrative reporting to donors - capturing the work of our implementing partners in the region

● Support with developing proposals for donors to Choose Love

● Respond to ad-hoc requests for information from prospective and existing donors

● Support with organising and hosting donor trips to the region

● Support the Partnerships team in presenting Choose Love’s work at events etc when appropriate

● Build and oversee relationships and liaise with CRLM grant partners, bilateral funders, and other key stakeholders to ensure CRLM strategy and approach are aligned to needs and trends in selected contexts

Regional Strategy

 ● Working closely with the Director of Programmes and the Head of Programmes (Protracted Contexts) and ELT,  to develop and implement the regional strategy for Choose Love’s programmes in the Middle East as part of the wider Choose Love Strategy.

● Consulting with key advisors and stakeholders on recommendations for the Middle East strategy

● Championing and supporting opportunities to promote funding to refugee-led and lived-experience led organisations

● Working with the team to implement the regional strategy and adapt the approach in response to contextual changes or humanitarian emergencies

● Maintain an up-to-date expert understanding of the changing context and needs in the region

● Lead on Choose Love’s involvement in CRLM,  including inputting and implementing the new strategy, processes, and systems

● Participate in relevant sector / regional meetings

● Work with the Director of Programmes and Head of Programmes to develop a network of peers working in the region

People Management

 ● Thoughtfully manage the existing team that supports Choose Love’s Middle East work by providing day to day support, meaningful 1:1s and annual reviews and identifying any learning and development needs

● Collaborate closely with (2) other Regions Heads on wider team initiatives and tasks, and be willing to provide surge management support for other regions during absences or periods of annual leave

● Support CRLM in recruiting and utilising advisors and consultants

Internal Communications

 ● Facilitate the sharing of regional strategy and updates across the wider Choose Love team to feed into wider fundraising efforts

● Communicate partner activities / asks to the rest of the team, including presentations on team calls and email updates to the team

● Support the ELT with information to feed back to the board about Programmes work.

● Capture information on specific contexts and summarise quickly and efficiently to the Communications team, as well as for external stakeholders/funders.

Essential Criteria

● Fluency in Arabic and English (both in written and speaking)

● Experience working in a programmes or grants-focused role related to the Middle East region

● Experience in the humanitarian sector, ideally with people who have been displaced

● Have permission to work in their country of residence

● Ability to travel within the Middle East region

● Line management experience, with remote line management experience highly desirable

● Experience liaising with donors and external stakeholders

● Report-writing skills 

Salary & Benefits

 Salary - £40,000 - £47,000

The successful candidate will have working, expert knowledge of the region and will be an Arabic and English speaker. They will also be able to travel, particularly across the Middle East. Job Title: Global Press & PR Manager
Reporting to: Director of Marketing & Communications

Part 1: Role Purpose:

The Global Press & PR Manager will play a vital role in growing awareness and exposure of Street Child, working with journalists, editors and media houses to build a consistent and pro-active media presence. Street Child’s Global MMC team is fully integrated into the whole organisation and our primary aim is to raise awareness of Street Child and act as a force-multiplier for fundraising efforts.

The role will explore new media relationships and re-ignite existing contacts, turbo-charging the value press and media generates for Street Child.

This is a role for a high-class media professional with a passion for our mission, great energy, imaginations and fantastic relationship building skills. This role requires an individual who will be based in our London office for a minimum of three days a week.

Tasks include delivering media coverage across global outlets, supporting the delivery of media training and briefings and the management/development of Street Child’s podcast.

Part 2: Key Responsibilities:

Delivering global media coverage (80%):

• Develop and maintain close working relationships with journalists across a range of broadcast, print and digital media outlets, looking beyond mainstream media to deliver global reach.
• Writing and publishing compelling, engaging press releases
• Manage and deliver media coverage on key campaigns and initiatives
• Support on the delivery of media briefings, including for the CEO, where required
• Lead and deliver PR campaigns, including influencer activations and activity
• Support the planning and management of overseas and UK trips for the purpose of generating coverage and content, often with journalists or high-profile supporters
• Be available for out of hours media, this will see you handling media enquiries and proactively pushing out stories at the weekend and out of hours during the week- this is crucial to communicating our rapid responses in a timely manner.
• Podcast management and development (10%)
• Develop and implement Street Child’s podcast strategy, aligning it with the broader communications and fundraising goals.
• Plan, research, and produce engaging podcast episodes, ensuring high-quality content that highlights Street Child’s programmes, impact stories, and key messages. This includes scripting, interviewing, editing, and post-production.
• Identify, reach out to, and coordinate with potential guests, including Street Child staff, beneficiaries, industry experts, and celebrity supporters. Manage these relationships to ensure a diverse and compelling line-up of interviewees.
• Monitor and analyse podcast performance metrics, listener feedback, and industry trends. Use insights to continuously improve content quality, format, and reach, ensuring the podcast remains relevant and impactful.
• Work with the wider team to develop and execute marketing and promotional plans to grow the podcast’s audience.

Strategic support (10%):

• Working closely with key stakeholders from other departments within Street Child to provide PR support, as well as developing and executing creative ways to deliver Street Child’s objectives.
• Building high profile, positive awareness of Street Child and our mission across PR; this must help to educate the public and demonstrate the scale of our impact with key external stakeholders.
• Providing PR support to key moments throughout the year, such as our “Back to School” campaign in order to achieve mass audience engagement

About the Role

As the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure major donations from individuals in the first instance. You will also manage the Senior Trusts & Foundations Manager. You will work closely with the Head of Individual Giving to ensure income targets are met or exceeded, contributing to the sustainability and growth of Mothers’ Union.

In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of driving impactful philanthropy and partnerships for Mothers’ Union. You will develop and execute a dynamic strategy to secure major donations, ensuring the annual income targets are met. You will nurture key relationships with existing donors, ambassadors, celebrities, and potential new supporters, leveraging these connections. You will build and manage a robust pipeline of supporters, ensuring continuous growth and rejuvenation.

You are a seasoned fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing substantial donations from high-net-worth individuals. Your strategic mindset and innovative approach enable you to develop and execute successful fundraising initiatives that drive results. Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

About the role

For the past five years, Platform’s fossil free work has focused on the coordination of the activist network UK Divest, with the aim to disrupt the financing of the fossil fuel industry through local government pension schemes. In the past two years, the remit of our work has expanded, to include new campaigns focused on exposing and disrupting fossil fuel industry sportswashing and the lobbying of Parliament. Now, with new campaigning underway on new targets in the pension sector, we are re-organising and growing our team to resource this exciting work.

Working alongside three Fossil Free Campaigners at Platform - and partners at Friends of the Earth Scotland - you will build on the strengths and learnings of past years to lead the strategic development of this important programme of work, incorporating UK Divest, Fossil Free Parliament, fossil free sports work, and new pensions work.

Our fossil free campaign is also inextricably tied to other movements for social justice. We are specifically seeking someone to develop the international solidarity potential of this work, understanding how fossil fuels are intertwined with the defence industry, colonialism, and global extraction more broadly. We want to target investment in and political support for fossil fuel companies because we believe it is intricately linked to broader global justice, such as the UK Government’s role in supporting destructive energy projects worldwide. The best divestment and anti-fossil fuel campaigning has been, and your future work will be, informed by and responsive to the BDS movement, the Global Energy Embargo for Palestine and anti-apartheid and arms trade work.

As a permanent member of Platform staff, you will also participate in the collective decision-making and running of Platform as an organisation, as well as having fundraising responsibilities alongside your project work.

Hours: 4 days (32 hours per week based on a 40 hour week)

Contract: Permanent contract, subject to 6 months’ probationary period.

Salary: Baseline salary is £42,248 pro rata (£33,791 at 4 days a week) and is subject to Platform’s Socially Just Waging System.

Location: Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, London E2 6HG. Many Platform staff members choose to work primarily from home: flexible remote working can be negotiated to suit circumstances.

Role purpose

Conference Organiser and Business Development Coordinator

(Fixed term for 12 months maternity cover)

Salary: £35k per annum

Location: Hybrid - Home-based & WC2A (min 1 day a week)

Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm (with some out of hours work and travel)

The role:

Working as part of a small team, the Conference Organiser and Business Development Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coordinating the planning, management, relationship coordination, creative development and delivery of the SCTS Annual conference.
• Maintaining and monitoring the society’s annual conference budget.
• Explore & identify new income streams for the annual conference.
• Create and sell sponsorship packages to medical companies.
• Ensuring the design and delivery of  the exhibition floorspace.
• Create themes & graphic designs for conference advertising material.

About you:

We are looking for an organised, accurate and effective multitasker and team player who can demonstrate hands-on experience in planning, coordinating and delivering conferences and / or large events along with coordinating all of the financial and sponsorship aspects of these.

You must also be a proactive, innovative, team-worker with good communication skills who can work collaboratively with many stakeholders. 

Willingness to learn new skills and software is key, as is experience with finance and accounting software such as Xero.

About us:

The Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) is a professional society for all healthcare professionals involved and interested in cardiothoracic surgery. 

This role supports the main purpose of advancing science in the field of cardiothoracic surgery for the benefit of the public by encouraging and promoting excellence in the practice of cardiothoracic surgery.

The SCTS Meetings team is responsible for organising and delivering the SCTS Annual Conference for all categories of professionals including Consultants, Medical Practitioners, Nationally Appointed Surgical Trainees, Trust appointed doctors and Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.

The team work flexibly from home and on site at least one day a week (but more will be required for initial training) at our office based in the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Central London.

International Field Officer - various locations overseas (January 2025 start date)

Location: Initial Field Officer training will be in Cambodia or Sri Lanka. First posting will be assigned across any of our global programmes.

The mission of the HALO Trust is: “To lead the effort to save lives and restore livelihoods for those affected by conflict”. HALO clears landmines, disposes of explosive ordnance including IEDs, and is involved in weapon control.

When you become a Field Officer in HALO, you join a team with a shared commitment to making a difference in some of the most vulnerable communities in the world. HALO offers a full training package for the role of Field Officer, and you do not require previous knowledge of landmine clearance or ordnance disposal.

HALO wants people who have a sense of adventure but are responsible and mature. We are looking for leaders who are resilient and self-motivated.

HALO’s Field Officers work across our programmes in various roles and with early responsibilities. You will need the aptitude to be able to function in dynamic and challenging environments and you should have demonstrable management and leadership skills.

HALO’s training will prepare you for deployment to one of our programmes where you could be leading between 250 and 1,000 local employees. On the Field Officer course you will receive technical training in mine clearance, basic explosive ordnance disposal and minefield survey. You will cover HALO’s finance, logistics, security and quality management systems. Once deployed to a programme, in addition to operational field work you will be involved in equipment auditing and maintenance, overseeing repair of vehicles, and writing reports and proposals.

Working for HALO is rewarding, but it is also physically and mentally demanding. Living and operating in remote locations in basic conditions can be wearing. You will be away from home for months on end. HALO Field Officers must be flexible and be willing to be posted to any of HALO's programmes.
