This will play a key role in carrying out a range of general health & safety room checks, cleaning, building maintenance and caretaking tasks. The role will report to and support the Facilities Manager in the delivery of planned, reactive maintenance and cleaning tasks.

The role will ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for residents, employees and visitors by providing a repairing, maintenance cleaning service in order to keep the various buildings and grounds to the highest standard, whilst minimising the need for external contractors.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

• To support daily, weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (fire alarm tests, water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.).
• Support Customer Services with planned room health & safety checks
• Support the delivery of first line response to reactive maintenance, cleaning and repairs.
• Minor building fabric spot cleaning, repairs, decorating tasks and plumbing repairs.
• Check of plant rooms and boilers for leaks and general condition
• Ensure equipment is well maintained, adequately stored and meets all safety requirements
• Ensure that all portable electrical appliances are tested as required
• Use a range of common hand and power tools to carry out your job as required
• Assist with inspection of the condition of the grounds, building and facilities
• General janitorial duties as requested.
• Ad-hoc porterage duties (moves and changes, furniture management and etc.).
• Maintain accurate digital documentation.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
• Proactively walking the Communal Areas and all floors, reporting and following up on any health & safety, maintenance or cleaning issues
• Ensure the organisation’s Health and Safety procedures regarding Safety at Work are consistently implemented and followed.
• Contribute to Risk Assessment activities and implement appropriate actions.
• Monitor and liaise with Sub-Contractors ensuring good Health and Safety Practices are being carried out and quality of work is of high standard.
• Clear snow and grit paths during bad weather periods.
• Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Monitor and action tasks listed on in-house systems, in a timely manner, ensuring the key performance indicator requirements are in place.
• To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with work role for health and safety in the workplace.
• To undertake such other duties within the competence of the post holder which may be required from time to time.

Experience

As a Housing Support Worker, you will assist in the day to day running of the properties, carrying out housing support duties, whilst offering advice and maintaining contact with tenants to ensure effective management of the properties.

The role - Housing Support Worker

• Let properties in line with the organisations letting policy and procedure.
• Assess and process possible admissions to the accommodation and determine acceptance. In cases where information is present to indicate that persons should not be admitted, record the details accurately.
• Assess a prospective new tenant and advise them on the Assured Short-hold Tenancy agreement, tenant's handbook and other relevant Policies and Procedures.
• Record and undertake pre-admission inspections of properties and voids when and where appropriate.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a health membership charity for a Head of Finance and Operations on a full-time, permanent basis. You will manage all finance related activities including monthly management accounts and end of year statutory accounts. You will also manage payroll as well as some transactional HR to ensure prompt onboarding and issuing contracts. Additionally, you will manage outsourced contractors to deliver robust and reliable IT, CRM and audit services and all operational services to ensure the charity maintains a safe office environment.

Please note, this organisation offers hybrid working with 1-2 days per week required in the office.

As Head of Finance and Operations, you will:

- Be an active member of the senior management team working across boundaries to collaborate with other Heads and support the CEO to deliver the charity’s annual operational implementation plan

- Produce both statutory accounts and monthly management accounts

- Lead the annual budgeting process, contribute to the annual business planning activities and provide strategic financial advice in verbal and written format to the CEO, Trustee Board and Council

- Manage internal operations including IT

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

- Be fully qualified (hold a Professional Chartered Accountancy Qualification)

- Have QuickBooks experience

- Have a solid understanding of Charity SORP

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Have experience managing and reviewing outsourced contracts for services such as IT

Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:

· providing a public rescue, rehabilitation, and release service for injured, sick and orphaned wildlife.

· providing a learning and outreach programme, public education, and access to a unique wildlife experience.

· disseminating information and data, delivering professional training, and helping conservation projects, to improve knowledge and raise standards of wildlife care across the UK.

To maximise the potential funding available for Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR), particularly through obtaining grants from trusts, foundations, local authorities and other sources.

This role will also be responsible for enhancing the reach and value of legacy fundraising at SWWR and building strong relationships with corporate supporters to help secure the financial sustainability of the Charity. 

Our Fundraising Manager is responsible for planning and preparing all fundraising and grants working alongside all departments to ensure projects are fulfilled from inception to fruition. The post holder takes care of medium- to long-term activities,  budgeting, planning and strategy, as well as being responsive to emerging opportunities and adapting to change. The Fundraising Manager is also the main point of contact for new and existing supporters, providing support and stewardship to the amazing individuals and organisations who want to help wildlife.

Alongside the above, the Fundraising Manager will also provide support to the current fundraising personnel and activities at SWWR, coordinating and supporting a range of tasks and functions to aid in the smooth running of the Charity. 

Fundraising is integrated into every part of SWWR’s operations. The Fundraising Manager works closely with colleagues in Education, Retail, Events, Finance, Volunteering, and Wildlife Care to understand their needs and provide support to aid in the smooth running of the Charity.

SWWR’s annual operational costs are approximately £900,000. The majority of funding is raised through supporter donations, fundraising events, trading activities and legacies.

It is the RSPB’s belief that respectful stewardship of personal data is essential in retaining the trust of our supporters. You will provide specialist advice on Data Protection (UK GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018) and Fundraising laws and regulations across the UK, EU and internationally. This includes advice on systems and process changes to ensure RSPB operates in a compliant way. The DPO will provide advice in respect of the development of RSPB internal processes, policies and associated functional strategies, programmes and projects.

The Data Protection Officer will lead on investigations and complaints about data breaches and responsible for the management, administration and delivery of matters in relation to Data Subjects Rights, including Data Subject Access Requests, Right to be Forgotten requests. Individuals must have a legal qualification (law degree or other qualification) and/or experience in a relevant legal field (practitioner/solicitor/barrister in England & Wales or Northern Ireland).
