Philanthropy and Partnerships fundraising at Alzheimer's Research UK has grown significantly over recent years. The Directorate has a track record of soliciting seven-figure donations and winning significant corporate partnerships with well-known and well-loved brands such as Omaze, Cadbury, Warburtons, Roadchef and Dobbies.
We are now looking to build upon our success by launching a new, significant fundraising appeal. This appeal will help drive further transformational growth, from income across majors donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. Ultimately, it will help us funding cutting-edge research that will bring forward the day when we can diagnose, treat and prevent dementia.
As Proposition Manager, you will play a critical role in the Directorate, by developing and managing the charity’s core Case for Support and a suite of compelling propositions for our key initiatives. These will be designed to inspire and engage high-value donors, including philanthropic individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners.
You will collaborate closely with the Scientific Communications, Research, and Fundraising teams to translate complex research and programmatic content into clear, persuasive, and donor-centric propositions. Your work will ensure that the High-Value Directorate is equipped with impactful materials that effectively articulate the charity’s need, vision, and funding priorities.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Proposition Development & Management:
· Lead the creation and maintenance of the organisation’s core Case for Support, ensuring it reflects the latest research, impact data, and strategic priorities.
· Develop a portfolio of tailored propositions aligned to the charity’s funding priorities, ensuring they are compelling, consistent, and donor-centric.
· Collaborate with the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships teams to understand donor needs and create bespoke or adapted propositions.
· Ensure all propositions are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect new insights, projects, or impact evidence.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
· Work closely with the Scientific Communications and Research teams to translate complex information into accessible, inspiring content.
· Partner with the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships teams to understand donor motivations and tailor propositions accordingly.
· Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Programme Delivery, Impact & Learning, and Marketing teams, to gather the latest insights and impact data.
Content & Resource Management:
· Create and maintain a central repository of propositions and supporting content, ensuring it is accessible and up to date for fundraising teams.
· Develop templates, guidance, and resources to support fundraisers in tailoring propositions for different audiences.
· Ensure all propositions are brand-aligned and compliant with the charity’s tone of voice and messaging guidelines.
Insight & Best Practice:
· Stay informed about sector trends, donor motivations, and best practices in high-value fundraising.
· Use insight and feedback from fundraisers and donors to refine and enhance propositions.
What we are looking for:
· Understanding of the charity sector and medical research.
· Knowledge of high value fundraising, across both Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships.
· Proven experience in proposition development, fundraising copywriting, or case for support creation, ideally within the charity sector.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Summary and key purpose
This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.
Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.
A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.
Your expertise and skills:
To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. You should be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, working across teams and meeting multiple deadlines. Your excellent relationship management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and gather information on new projects. You must have a thorough understanding of individual giving, developing donor journeys and experience of work with agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the regular giving programme, project managing appeals and overseeing the thanking process for individual donors.
- Create, plan, deliver and evaluate multi-channel, compliant, insight-led, supporter-centric campaigns to engage and drive action from new and existing supporters.
- Manage our newly appointed fundraising agency, and in doing so, help deliver an ambitious appeal programme and income target.
- Review and develop operational plans for individual giving (including regular giving, in memory, digital fundraising and appeals) working to achieve agreed targets.
- Communicate and document key performance indicators across individual giving appeals. Ensuring you provide commentary to accompany results reporting, drawing on insights and the wider picture to add context and make recommendations from your learnings.
- Work with the fundraising agency and RABI communications team to produce and edit appropriate collateral.
- Devise and deliver supporter communications, including stewardship activity, welcome journey content and appeal communications.
- Help ensure that we comply with legal and compliance requirements including industry best practice, GDPR/PECR regulations and the CIOF code of Fundraising Practice.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships and liaison with other members of RABI staff.
- Take part and contribute to team meetings.

Person Specification:
Essential
- Marketing or direct marketing or marketing qualification.
- Experience of using direct marketing methods to recruit, retain and develop supporters (e.g. telemarketing).
- Previous direct marketing or transferrable experience. This should include project managing or assisting a project manager to plan and deliver activity and evaluate results

- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets from unrestricted donations.

Your efforts will help ensure that everyone affected by dying, death, and bereavement has the best possible experience, reflecting what's important to them. You will manage a team of 6 and oversee the delivery of over £3.5m net income annually, making a significant impact on our fundraising goals.
Main responsibilities:
- Establish a clear direction and plan to achieve net contribution growth for Marie Curie.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Fundraising Coordinator (Individual Giving) will be responsible for stewarding our supporters and donors, helping coordinate the Fundraising department activities and associated administrative duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager, Fundraiser (Individual Giving) and wider fundraising team to administer our donor support communication.
- Administering the individual giving fundraising programme with support from the wider team.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key RABI stakeholders, partners and associated organisation as agreed by your line manager.
- Plan, execute and assistant in delivering national and large-scale fundraising activities.
- Thank all donors in a timely manner via e-mail and letters and keep accurate records.
- Ensure that the database CRM records for our supporters and donors are maintained and up to date.
- Develop and refine systems and processes to enhance donor experience and support.
- Responding to general enquiries from the RABI fundraising email address and the fundraising phoneline.
- Support the Individual Giving Manager and Fundraiser (Individual Giving) on the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns.
- Help plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns and initiatives, ensuring they are executed effectively and efficiently.
- Liaise across the charity fundraising collateral and support the wider teams in developing materials for community fundraising.
- Assist the Individual Giving Manager and Fundraiser (Individual Giving) in the oversight of the online RABI shop.
- Help create and develop a digital income strategy as part of the Fundraising Strategic Framework.
- Provide a first point of contact for individuals who are fundraising for RABI including sending out fundraising packs and providing fundraising guidance and advice.
- Help ensure that we comply with legal and compliance requirements including industry best practice, GDPR/PECR regulations and the CIOF code of Fundraising Practice.
GENERAL:
- Develop and maintain good working relationships and liaison with other members of RABI staff.
- Be a constructive member of the fundraising team and work cooperatively with other staff members.
- Take part and contribute to fundraising team meetings.
- Cooperate with RABI on health and safety matters, taking reasonable care of own and other people’s health and safety within the workplace. Follow and H&S training received and alert RABI to any serious risks.
- Actively participate in the staff appraisal scheme and be committed to training and development in line with the Charity’s aims and objectives.
- Liaise with volunteers, clients, contractors and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Promote the Charity’s work, assisting with demonstrations and in fundraising and awareness events as appropriate.
- Perform any other reasonable task as required by the Charity.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
