Responsibilities of our Senior Innovation Officer:

• Leading collaborative innovation cycles and sprints using an insight led innovation approach to develop new products and optimise existing activity
• Support the Innovation Manager to deliver overall Marketing and Income Generation targets by working across the directorate to manage innovation and new product development
• Identify, plan and develop new opportunities from end to end; from insight gathering and analysis to conducting pilots and stakeholder management
• Support the development of an innovation culture, building a culture of audience led decision making and supporting all Marketing and Income Generation teams to incorporate the innovation process and techniques into their work

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Direct Marketing and Fundraising Officer to join our Public Fundraising team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our fundraising activities, particularly during appeals, where your coordination skills will be crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

Appeal Coordination:

• Assist the Direct Marketing Manager - Acquisition in keeping member agency fundraising directors and key suppliers up to date in the run-up to and during appeals.
• Update the fundraising and marketing team budget tracker, ensuring accurate financial tracking throughout the appeal process.
• Support the setup and management of Appeal Toolkits and Appeal Hubs, providing essential assets to staff, member agencies, and suppliers.
• Assist with the coordination and delivery of creative projects across all direct marketing channels, ensuring timely and effective execution.
• Work with the team to gather and report appeal results, providing updates to the Director of Fundraising and Marketing, Executive Team, and CEO’s office.

 Ongoing Responsibilities:

• Organize and manage review meetings with suppliers’ post-appeal, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
• Monitor and update core and appeal budgets, processing invoices and ensuring financial accuracy.
• Support the Director of Fundraising and Marketing in organizing and managing the Fundraising Director’s Group meetings, including diary coordination, preparing presentations, and taking minutes.
• Provide general administrative support to the Fundraising and Marketing team, including setting up monthly team meetings, organizing agendas, and coordinating away days.

• Proven experience in project coordination and administrative support, ideally within a fundraising or marketing environment.

• Experience with budget tracking and financial processes.

As a Grant Operations Officer, you’ll take on a varied role where you’ll be involved with:

• Supporting the logistical and secretariat process for the senior grant advisory and review panels. 

• Lead on the preparation of administrative aspects of all funding streams, including setting up funding rounds and applications on the Grant Management System (GMS; Grant Tracker).

• Supporting in the peer review process.

• Managing grant funding operational and administration processes.

The Senior Trusts and Foundations Officer is an integral role within our Income and Engagement Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled fundraiser with a passion for securing five and six-figure donations from trusts, foundations and statutory bodies.

Are you our new Digital Communications Officer?

We are looking for a creative social media native who is comfortable not only with presenting UWC to different audiences but also collaborating and supporting our different stakeholders in doing so. You will join the Communications and Engagement Team at the UWC International Office (UWCIO) which consists of six people and report to the Digital Communications Manager.

As a Digital Communications Officer, you will create, develop and deliver content across all UWC International’s social media channels in line with our social media strategy and lead on sourcing or creating the relevant, required reporting to demonstrate engagement and impact. You will also support UWC’s truly global network of volunteers through digital resources, templates and training. In doing so, you will use your digital communications skills for the better, contributing to the success of the movement and supporting young people to access transformational educational opportunities they would otherwise not have dreamt of.

Part of the larger Advancement Team at UWC International, the Communications and Engagement Team provides the UWC movement with strategic leadership, support and advice in the area of internal and external communication, PR, promotion, marketing, crisis communications, alumni and wider community engagement, and partnerships with other organisations. The Team has a coordination and support function for teams across the UWC International Office, as well as other UWC stakeholders globally, such as UWC schools, colleges, national committees and governance bodies. About the role: 

Reports to - Chair of Trustees 
Salary - £90,000 - £100,000 per year (pro-rata if part-time)
Contract - Permanent, 0.8FTE to 1.0FTE 
Location - London-based with some hybrid work possible. Travel within the UK as required by the role. 

Main purpose of the job:

The CEO is responsible for the growth, development and performance of the charity and for shaping and delivering an impactful and sustainable strategy in line with our mission and aims. They will be a key representative of Action Tutoring externally, including working to raise the profile of tutoring as an essential part of school education. 

Specific responsibilities relating to the role: 

Vision, Strategy and Delivery

• Working with the Board to agree the vision and mission
• Ongoing strategic development and delivery of the short term and long term strategic plans and vision
• Responsible for implementing the agreed strategy Ensuring the necessary organisation, systems and infrastructure are in place to meet the plans
• Working with the team to ensure delivery targets are met and that delivery is impactful and to a high standard

People and cultural leadership

• Overall people and cultural leadership, developing the team ensuring a positive working culture with behaviours that align closely to the charity’s values
• Ensuring operational excellence across the organisation Workforce planning so that we have the right people in the right roles to ensure successful delivery of the strategy
• Commitment to improving diversity, equity and inclusion across the organisation, drawing on best practice and leading on identifying areas for improvement

Finance and Fundraising

• Overseeing financial management of the charity
• Lead fund raising alongside Head of Philanthropy to ensure fundraising targets set by the Board are met

Advocacy

• Representing Action Tutoring externally to a range of stakeholders, including school leaders, policy makers, the media and funders, to raise the profile of Action Tutoring and awareness of the cause

Line Management

• Direct line management of the Senior Leadership Team and the Head of Philanthropy

Governance

• Working collaboratively with the Board to ensure the vision and mission are met and that the board is sufficiently informed to enable the Trustees to discharge their duties

Person specification:

• Proven track record as a CEO or Board-level senior leader, ideally in a non-profit organisation
• Experience in developing and executing strategic plans to achieve organisational vision and mission
• Strong communication and advocacy skills, with extensive experience representing organisations externally to various stakeholders (e.g. school leaders, partners policymakers, funders), and contributing to sector-wide policy discussions
• Understanding of the education sector, and the needs and drivers of stakeholders across the education space
• Commercial mindset, with proven success in fundraising to meet set targets and secure income for ongoing operations
• Experience in growing and evolving organisations to meet ambitious targets and in response to external changes, challenges and opportunities in your operating context
• Experience in an organisation with strong operational service delivery and an understanding of how to ensure quality, efficiency and impact in that context

About You:
