The role of Programme Support Officer will provide administrative and coordination support to new What Works Programmes, ensuring the smooth delivery of projects and initiatives.
The role will also oversee the administration of two expert evaluation advisory groups and the evaluation panel that supports the Evidence & Evaluation team to commission and run high quality projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with programme and project design, planning, monitoring of progress, liaison with other teams in Youth Futures, including communications, and resolving problems
- Providing administration support to two expert evaluation advisory groups (including setting up contracts, managing communication with the group, scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and managing payments to advisory group members)
- Meeting note taking and minuting and preparation of relevant documentation as required
- Administration support of panels (including setting up contracts, managing communication with the panel, scheduling meetings, allocating tasks, and managing payments to panel members). These panels may cover ethics, peer review, and provision of evaluation projects.
This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

- Process all invoices and expense claims from receipt to preparation for payment.

Purpose
This vital role works alongside the Head of Philanthropy to help build and grow our philanthropic partnerships over the next five years and beyond. As well as building upon current relationships, you will identify, research and cultivate relationships with charitable Trusts and Foundations as well as major donors to raise both restricted and unrestricted income.
Responsibilities and areas of work

1. New business acquisition:

b) Recommending tactical next steps for engagement with new individuals and trusts, for approval by the Head of Philanthropy.
2. Stewardship and cultivation of current and active donors:
a) Developing and implementing tailored stewardship plans, so that individuals / trusts are engaged in a bespoke manner, and that application and reporting deadlines are met.
b) Leading on the production and submission of applications, proposals and initial approaches (by post, email and, to a lesser degree, phone) and following up as required.
c) Reporting to donors in a formal or informal way, as appropriate, to ensure they are kept up to date with CBM and project developments d)Organising, facilitating and attending face-to-face and online meetings with high-level donors/ trusts, including organising dates and venues, and creating Meeting Briefs for all attendees to ensure positive outcomes.
3. Proposal and Report Writing
a) Designing and crafting compelling proposals, reports, project timelines and budgets that meet the bespoke needs of donors whilst meeting the needs of CBM and our Programme delivery colleagues, within agreed deadlines.

a) Helping to develop the Annual Forecast Budget for the Team, and providing updates on the pipeline and progress against targets.

To be successful in this role you will have strong project management skills, as well as confidence in building and maintaining positive relationships with a diverse range of high-profile stakeholders. You will either already possess or can quickly build a detailed understanding of NHS workforce challenges and postgraduate medical training. You will be highly organised and flexible, with the ability to plan and prioritise work against organisational objectives and to defined deadlines and budgets.

What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of workforce projects and programmes with varying scope, deliverables, and focuses.
- Proactively lead on planning, monitoring and delivery of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, to a high standard and within budget, managing risks that arise.
- Independently create project plans for new initiatives by developing established project aims into deliverables, milestones and timelines, accounting for dependencies, risks, and key stakeholders and partners.
- Provide high level executive support for any groups that may be convened for relevant projects, including liaison with relevant experts and stakeholders, and coordination of any consultation activity.
- Support the clinical leads representing the RCR in the national recruitment process for Clinical Radiology and Clinical Oncology specialty training.
- Analyse data from a range of sources to inform and manage the quality assurance of curricula and UK specialty training.
What you’ll need:
- Significant experience of leading and managing a diverse portfolio of simultaneous projects, varying in size and focus, within a relevant context.
- Experience of managing high profile and subject expert stakeholders, including building consensus from conflicting viewpoints, and leveraging differing motivations and skillsets to achieve maximum impact.
- Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external teams to manage delivery of project outcomes.
- Ability to independently develop project aims into deliverable plans, including defining milestones, dependencies, risks, and timelines.
- Ability to quickly develop an in-depth understanding of the complex issues and systems underpinning each project.

Hours: 35 hours (Full-Time). Working pattern will be finalised at job offer stage but will involve some evening and weekend delivery.
