The Community Leader will oversee the management of our community services and activities, ensuring the programmes align with local needs, our strategic goals and available funding. 

Key Responsibilities

·Develop engaging marketing materials, including leaflets, website content, and social media posts, to ensure our services are widely advertised and accessible to a diverse audience.

We’re looking for a passionate policy and campaigns expert to lead our work driving equity in healthcare and securing justice in the Infected Blood Scandal.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and Management Team, you will lead the development and delivery of HCT’s influencing strategy including:

• Driving our work on the UK Infected Blood Inquiry and new compensation system, to ensure everyone affected can access justice and that the Inquiry recommendations are rapidly acted upon by the UK Government. 

• Developing the policy and campaigns strategy for our new Inclusion Health programme, focused on improving health and access to health services for marginalised and excluded populations (also known as “Inclusion health” or “PLUS” populations within the NHS Core20PLUS5 approach to addressing health inequalities). 

• Building strategic partnerships with like-minded organisations to ensure Government takes a long-term and evidence-based approach to hepatitis C elimination – meeting our target to eliminate hepatitis C in the UK by 2030. This will cut across work in drug policy, health and justice, inclusion health and communicable diseases.

This is a pivotal role for the organisation, coming at a crucial juncture in our 20-year history, and coinciding with a new Government and following the final report of the Infected Blood inquiry. 

The role will provide an excellent opportunity to take on wide-ranging policy and campaigns responsibilities encompassing research, influencing decision makers, building coalitions, developing campaigns and producing campaign materials, developing HCT’s campaigners’ network, and building public and political support for our aims and our communities. 

You will be a strategic thinker with great political and communication skills, enthusiasm for working directly with communities, and experience of policy, public affairs and/or campaigning work. Ideally, you will have an understanding of inequalities and/or experience of working with ‘Inclusion Health’ populations including people experiencing homelessness, the criminal justice systems, drug use and/or other exclusion. Lived experience is always a huge asset.

You will bring a track record of working on campaigns that have contributed to policy or other social change. You’ll be passionate about working with people with lived experience to develop policy and will have the ability to build influential relationships and to represent The Hepatitis C Trust with a range of external audiences.

A Bit about Us:

WellChild, based in the centre of Cheltenham, is the national charity for children with complex medical needs and their families. We fund programmes and services to make it possible for children and young people living with serious illness to be cared for at home instead of hospital.

The WellChild Family Tree is a growing network that exists to connect families across the UK caring for a child with complex health needs with each other and with WellChild. Through its online forum, and programme of activities and communications, it provides members with the opportunity to make friends, make memories and make a change.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised person to join us as our Family Information Officer as part of our Family Team. Working alongside the Family Programme Team and wider Programmes Team, this role will fill a critical information gap for the families that WellChild supports and will help the charity attract new and harder to reach families into the WellChild Family Tree network.

Through becoming familiar with relevant policy and guidance for families caring for children with complex medical needs, you will be able to help identify the key issues facing our families and then curate the most relevant, up to date information from a variety of expert sources to help support them whilst also taking the lead on information projects aimed at helping families to thrive at home.

Purpose of the role:

Families thrust into a world of disability and complex care find themselves having to navigate their way through a ‘new normal’ with nowhere to go for relevant information and advice. The result leaves many unaware of their entitlements or the help that might be available. This puts many families under extreme pressure, leading to financial hardship, family breakdowns and emotional strain.

Working within the Family Team and reporting to the Family Programme Manager, this role will continue to develop and expand WellChild’s information provision. This will be achieved through research and delivery of information, tools and advice for families on subjects such as, but not limited to health, legal rights and entitlements, wellbeing and local services.

So we're looking for an accomplished leader and not just a great manager. We're looking for someone who can lead from both the front - and from within. This will be someone who is as comfortable sitting and engaging with our beneficiaries - primarily homeless people and those with previous convictions, as they are creating and delivering highly polished, compelling public event and funder and stakeholder-focussed presentations. We are looking for someone who understands the balance of external and internal focus required to ensure both good governance and team wellbeing (as they work in often challenging circumstances) and the ambition to keep developing existing and new external partnerships. With a strong start to its ambitious Corporate Partnership programme, commercial and/or business experience is highly desirable as well as a proven track record in creating and optimising new funding channels.

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. The role

Is leading the charity through its next phases of development as it prepares itself for year on year increases in demand with a focus on delivering the charity’s future resilience plan (Project 12/25). The CEO is accountable for overall charity performance (financial, operational, governance, compliance), team (paid and volunteer) support and development. Additionally, there are a wide range of community and external partner relationships to manage and develop. Part of an award-winning Communication & Policy Department, our Scottish Empty Homes Partnership (SEHP) is a Scottish Government funded project aimed at enabling private sector empty homes to be brought back into use across Scotland. The Partnership achieves this via a mix of policy work, capacity building, training, best practice sharing and awareness raising with councils, community groups and others.

In collaboration with University College London (UCL) as the degree awarding body, Anna Freud is recruiting a Programme Director to lead the delivery of the Educational Mental Health Practitioner programme.

The EMHP Programme Director role sits within the Education and Training Division at Anna Freud within the Workforce Programmes stream in Post-Graduate Studies.   

The post-holder will deliver a high quality, academically coherent and inclusive programme curriculum in line with the evolving EMHP National Curriculum, UCL and British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation standards. 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of implementing CBT-informed interventions for low mood and anxiety as well evidence-based interventions for behavioural difficulties in educational settings; have a strong, demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and education and have experience in curriculum design, assessment and teaching in Higher Education.

The role is held within a supportive leadership team who are committed to improving the mental health of all children, young people and families.

The Head of Compliance, Risk and Governance role at Crisis is a varied and fulfilling role. You will be responsible for ensuring that Crisis adheres to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. What does a Service Support Officer do?

• Acts as first point of contact/liaison for users of the service, members of the public and other professionals, providing them with further information and signposting/triaging.
• Works with team members to provide administrative support for activities, caseloads and meetings.
• Works with sensitivity and has a good understanding of the issues experienced by users of the service.
• Assists the team with a variety of communications methods, such as website updates, presentations, social media and other digital communication methods.
• Undertakes general clerical duties such as dealing with post, photocopying and ordering/raising purchase orders.

What are we looking for in our Service Support Officer?

• Recent experience of providing administrative support to a team or service.
• Experience of working in a person-centred role with members of the public and communicating with a wide range of people.
• Experience of keeping accurate and timely records.

We provide a range of preventative services for older people and those living with a diagnosis of dementia. Volunteers are fundamental to our service provision. We have over 350 volunteers who support our work.

Do you have an understanding of the relationships the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector have with various communities who may not be as engaged with health services or health and care research? For this work funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), we are seeking an organised individual with event delivery, engagement, and administrative experiences to join the team.In this role for the REN, you will work across Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care System (ICS), supporting Working and Steering Group Meetings, and ongoing support of volunteer Community Research Champions.

Job Purpose 

The purpose of this role is to provide operational support to CAVA’s Health and Wellbeing Manager to support the delivery of the community engagement aspect of the REN Workplan which is identified through the REN Working/Steering Group. The Coventry and Warwickshire REN is currently funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and aims to increase opportunities and inclusivity for people (particularly from underserved communities) to take part in research, to tackle health inequalities, and identify ways for researchers to improve the health and wellbeing of people across Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care System.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting Working and Steering Group meetings, attending REN events on behalf of CAVA and taking a proactive role in gathering examples of good practice and sharing outcomes and impact with stakeholders. This role will support engagement with communities throughout Coventry and Warwickshire by supporting delivery of in-person engagement events and support the recruitment of, and support related to, Volunteer Community Research Champions who play a vital and central role within this scope of work.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support organisation and delivery of in-person engagement events for the REN work
• Support the REN Working and Steering Groups with communications and marketing activities with various stakeholders (including with: VCFSEs; potential and existing volunteer Community Research Champions; updates to funders; and for various communication channels of the ICS) 
• Support gathering of examples of good practice and presenting these case studies in various formats
• Support the team with gathering intelligence, and liaising with VCFSEs about capturing and sharing in an Engagements and Insights Atlas the research opportunities and learnings from across Coventry and Warwickshire
• Champion VCFSEs involvement in using their knowledge and understanding of issues related to addressing inequalities and under-representation, and improving health
• Support the REN with writing monitoring reports
• Circulate relevant material and agendas and take notes from virtual and in-person meetings
• Support the REN with the recruitment, on-going support, training, and organisation of virtual and in-person events for volunteer Community Research Champions 
• Attend relevant meetings (in-person and virtually, as appropriate)

General

• Participate in individual supervision sessions with your line manager.
• Attend and contribute to relevant CAVA meetings.
• Undertake relevant training agreed with the line manager.
• Ensure that under-represented groups have access to CAVA services offered by the post.
• Comply with CAVA’s work programme, policies and procedures.
• Partake in occasional CAVA events including AGMs and Away Days.
• Undertake additional duties occasionally, commensurate with the grading of this post.
