Responsibilities and Person Specification: 

This role at Independent Age is a brilliant opportunity to work on our grant funding programmes, involving support of grant management, applications, assessments, and funding administration. The postholder will foster positive connections with funded organisations, service partners and individual grant holders, contribute to the review and analysis of grant and partnership reporting and evaluations, and help communicate the impact of grants working with multiple stakeholders. You will support with creating value-adding opportunities for grantees, from organising engaging training to hosting networking events.

A strong understanding of grant making and experience in supporting partnerships, a project, or programme of work, your collaborative approach, outstanding interpersonal skills, and commitment to customer service will be important for this role. You should also have excellent administrative and organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and be experienced in data management.

Summary of the role:

The Head of Communications is responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation’s communication strategy to establish Muslim Aid as a leading faith-based voice and thought leader in international development, humanitarian programming and positive systemic change. This role involves managing all aspects of internal and external communications, including media relations, digital content, and brand management. The Head of Communications will work closely with the Director of Strategy and Communications to ensure that communication efforts are aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals and effectively engage stakeholders.

About the Role:

 Develop and implement a comprehensive global communication strategy that enhances the organisation’s public image, engages key stakeholders, and supports the achievement of strategic goals. Ensure that the strategy is flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.

Lead the development and monitoring of annual communication plans that outline key initiatives, campaigns, and activities. Ensure that these plans are aligned with the organisation’s strategic priorities, reflect cross-departmental needs and include clear objectives, timelines, and performance metrics.

Provide editorial oversight for all content produced by the communications team, digital or otherwise: including social media posts, website content, newsletters, press releases, and other written materials. Ensure that all content adheres to the organisation’s messaging guidelines and brand standards.

Act as the overall guardian of the Muslim Aid brand and put in place processes and support to ensure it is represented at its best in all external communications.

Ensure that the organisation’s brand reflects and aligns with organisational identity and is consistently applied across all communication channels. Lead efforts to refresh and strengthen the brand as needed to reflect the organisation’s evolving direction.

Steer strategic engagement with the media to ensure accurate reporting on Muslim Aid’s activities, priorities, principles, and approach, as well as to platform Muslim Aid’s strategic direction and goals, and advance the organisation’s thought leadership.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
2. Proven leadership experience in a communications role, preferably within an INGO or similar organisation.
3. Proven experience in developing and executing successful communication strategies, managing media relations, and overseeing digital communications.

Age UK is currently recruiting for a Head of Finance Operations on a part-time, permanent basis. This is a great senior-level opportunity at Age UK and is a critical role within the charity. Please note the salary banding advertised is FTE (35 hours per week).

The purpose of the Head of Finance Operations role is to lead, manage, coordinate, and develop Age UK's treasury operations, income and cash management, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

The successful candidate will take the lead on all Finance Operations protecting Age UK's financial assets through robust financial controls and processes, ensuring GDPR compliance. We are looking for this role to oversee our treasury operations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, year-end and management accounts.

As Head of Finance Operations, you will manage key relationships to include retail operations, banking, and investment management, ensuring all needs are met. You will oversee all accounts receivable activities including the review of aged debtors and the creation of bad debt provision where necessary. You will also handle all accounts payable activities and support year-end preparation of statutory accounts and monthly management accounts.

This role will suit a proactive candidate with Treasury and Finance operations experience in a similar sized, complex organisation.

This is a hybrid opportunity, a blend of homebased and office working. Our linked office for this role is in London and you would be expected to attend the office around once a month for team days and more often if necessary.

The salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours. Full time at Age UK, constitutes as 35 hours per week. This position is 21 hours per week across 3 days. Wednesday afternoon is mandatory however we can be flexible on the other days/hours.

The Charity team is responsible for raising millions of pounds each year to ensure Christie patients receive gold standard care and treatment. This includes everything from access to world first clinical trials and receiving radiotherapy in state-of-the-art treatment centres to young adults being cared for in a bespoke age-appropriate centre and being able to offer patients anxiety reducing complementary therapy, or even creative sessions in our art room.

Fundraising is still a relatively new activity for DFN Project SEARCH and this role presents the opportunity to play a key part in its expansion to support the further growth of the charity and enable young adults with a learning disability to lead healthier, happier, and more independent lives.   

This role will support the Director of Development in implementing DFN Project SEARCH’s fundraising strategy. To date the strategy has focused on securing a small number of larger gifts from philanthropic sources, such as trusts and foundations. We are now evolving the strategy to include growing income from high-net-worth individuals, companies, and individual giving.

This role will lead on the development and implementation of the strategy to secure income from high-net-worth individuals (between five and potentially seven figures) and will also work with the Director of Development and the Development Officer on securing income from, and stewarding, trusts, foundations, and statutory funders. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team there is also the opportunity to input to the wider strategy and development of the charity and support the Director of Development in their role as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

A little bit about the role

The Head of Delivery is responsible for all aspects of programme organisation and delivery. They are a vital and senior position expected to bring exceptional social work knowledge and expertise to the implementation and further development of Approach Social Work and wider work of the charity. They are required to work collaboratively with all teams on the programme, including curriculum, admissions and support, recruitment, partnerships and programme management.

You will have a clear vision for outstanding social work practice and education with a commitment to systemic practice and other practice models.

• With support from the Programme Director, lead the development of People’s Economy’s approach to training and workshops to create an approach and set of standards to be applied across the organisation.

• Work with the Programme Director to create processes to oversee the quality and delivery of all of People’s Economy’s training
• Lead on monitoring and evaluation of, and learning from, People’s Economy’s training work ensuring that it informs the subsequent development of training
• With support from the Programme Director create and implement plans to build and maintain our training infrastructure and increase our training capacity.

Training for Changemakers

• With support from the Programme Director, design and develop our training offer.
• Lead the implementation of training, including: ○ Work with the Head of Community to develop processes to recruit and onboard changemakers to training opportunities ○ Design training workshops, working in accordance with People’s Economy’s community education framework and principles ○ Oversee the delivery of training workshops facilitated by other staff and freelancers 
• Work collaboratively with the Programme Team to ensure a joined up approach across our work with changemakers

Develop paid training work

• With support from the Programme Director, take a strategic approach to identifying and developing opportunities to undertake paid training work that can both meet People’s Economy’s goals and generate unrestricted income for the organisation
• Hold key relationships, as agreed with the Programme Director, with organisations and individuals who are current and potential clients for paid training work

Supporting other work strands

• Feed in from a training perspective to the development of People’s Economy’s changemaker community of practice led by the Head of Community
• Feed in from a training perspective to the development and implementation of the organisational communications strategy

Managing projects and people

• Work with the Head of People and Operations to recruit and manage a pool of freelancer Associate Trainers to help deliver People’s Economy’s training work, and lead the training of freelancers to do this work
• Manage freelancers contributing to People’s Economy’s training work and any staff roles which (in future) report to Head of Training
• Manage (or contribute to) non-programme projects that contribute to achieving People’s Economy’s goals, as agreed with the Programme Director
• Work collaboratively with the Programme Team to ensure a joined up approach across People’s Economy’s work

Financial management and income generation

• With support from the Programme Director, develop and manage budgets when leading programmes and projects
• With support from the Programme Director, contribute to income generation by leading the development of agreed identified opportunities, including by holding key relationships with existing and potential funders

Glaucoma UK is the charity for people with glaucoma. Our vision is to end preventable glaucoma sight loss.

We offer a wide range of free information and advice leaflets, a telephone helpline, digital support groups, an online patient forum, and volunteer Buddies who provide peer to peer support.

As our ambitious and passionate Head of Advocacy and Communications you will have the opportunity to shape this new role, develop and implement a high impact strategy that communicates EAP and CoST, the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative impact and advocates it policy and practice to influence how climate resilient infrastructure is delivered to be reduce poverty. You will

• Be an aspiring leader, able to inspire, motivate and galvanise a small communications team able to draw in colleagues to help deliver each strategy.
• Have experience of developing an organisational communications and advocacy strategy, identifying key messages and approaches that are used to influence international and regional stakeholders.

The appointee will also take on for the same role for CoST, the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative – a transparency, participation and accountability programme which operates in 20 countries and for which EAP hosts its International Secretariat

You will be working remotely with in-person team and board meetings usually held in London and occasionally overseas 5 to 6 times a year.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the development of an advocacy and communications strategy for both CoST and EAP that positions each organisation as thought leaders and identifies the objectives, key messages, approaches and partners to achieve their ambitions.
• Manage the implementation of the advocacy and communications strategy including the Communications Manager, drawing in other members of the wider EAP and CoST teams to help deliver the activities.
• Contribute to the broader strategic direction of EAP and CoST as part of the senior management team.
• Engage with key international and regional partners including the private sector to help deliver on our advocacy and communications objectives and key messages.
• Oversee the organisation of on-line and in person events to i) promote our tools, standards, policy reports and impact stories to a global audience and ii) promote key message as part of a wider advocacy strategy.
• Represent CoST and EAP at high level international and regional events, bilateral meetings with key partners and in media interviews.
• Lead the creation, writing and publication of communications materials, e.g. media briefs, presentations, case studies, toolkits and blogs.
• Oversee our e-newsletters and social media, building our audience and engagement.

Head of Advice Services 

Hours: Full time 37 hours (with flexibility to 30 hours as a minimum for an experienced candidate)

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 (or pro rata as appropriate) depending on experience

Location: Based in one of our 3 offices in Alton, Bordon and Petersfield (and frequent travel across the area) with some home working

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Head of Advice Services to lead our dedicated and diverse staff and volunteer team, to develop our advice services and to ensure we continue to deliver high-quality information and advice. Reporting to and working closely with our Chief Executive, this is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role at the very heart of our charity.

As a member of our Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for the day to day running and  future development of our advice operation. You will look to lead advice teams that are able to respond to the changing needs of our community.

You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills to support an inclusive working environment for our staff and volunteer team, as well as work proactively with a wide range of stakeholders across the district.

The successful applicant will be a confident and positive leader who is energetic, resourceful, and organised. You will relish change and possess substantial operational management experience, ideally within a high performing multi-channel advice service or similar,  preferably with a good understanding of Citizens Advice or similar advice function. Frequent travel to our offices in East Hampshire is essential.
