The UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub (UKHIH) is looking to recruit an Operations Adviser for a Maternity Cover for up to 1 year. In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to the successful implementation and management of UKHIH research and innovation workstreams.
Managed by the Head of Operations, the role works closely with colleagues across UKHIH and Elrha to manage a portfolio of key relationships, grants and service contracts to a high standard. The role also supports essential UKHIH operational functions, including coordinating communications, managing convening activities, and contributing to broader organizational and operational development processes and strategy.
Your application will need to demonstrate:
- Experience of grant and contract management including managing procurement processes, preparing grant agreements and service contracts, and quality assuring delivery and payment plans.
- An understanding and interest in the humanitarian or development sectors, ideally demonstrated through academic qualifications and/or paid or voluntary work.
- Experience of developing and maintaining a contacts database.
- Proven ability to provide advice and guidance relating to operational capacity building, including effective operations, grant management and the development of business cases.

- Excellent financial acumen with ability to analyse financial data and monitor financial reports.

- Remote working as standard – staff can access office bases in London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Manchester if required/ appropriate. We expect staff to attend team meetings and away days in person as required.

PiP has developed a unique reputation for our experience and quality of employment support for adults with learning disabilities. This has led to an increased number of referrals with a focus on employment, an expansion of our in-house social enterprise capacity, and more employers keen to work alongside us to diversify their staff base.
PiP is keen to respond to and meet this demand. This role for us is the next step in doing so, allowing us to increase our job coaching capacity and providing more dedicated resource for students on their employment journey. As to date our coaching has been delivered across our existing staff team.

We are seeking a Learning and Development Manager to work with the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development to develop an ambitious learning and development strategy for Emmaus UK.
As a hands-on Learning & Development Manager, you will play a critical role in developing the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of employees, companions, volunteers and trustees across the Emmaus Federation and within Emmaus UK.
Your primary focus will be on developing and delivering effective learning interventions, programs and initiatives that align with the goals of Emmaus and support the growth and development of its people.

Job Profile
The leadership and Governance Officer is a key role that enables CAFOD’s Leadership (the Executive Team) and Governance (the Board of trustees) teams to fulfil their remits well through sound administration, organisation, and relationship-building skills.
The post sits at the centre of CAFOD and will have a broad overview of key issues affecting CAFOD’s work and the management mechanisms in place to address them. The post holder will have proven experience in providing sound administrative and organisational support at a board/senior management level. This includes excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact across different cultural settings. They will have experience in setting meeting agendas, following up on key actions and experience in forward planning with excellent project management skills to support the Board of Trustees.
The post holder will ensure:
- That the governance of meetings and functions in CAFOD (Board of Trustees and relevant committees) are well planned, effective and documented transparently.
- That governance reporting requirements are fulfilled to a high quality and in a timely fashion. This includes minute-taking, serious incident reporting and follow-up actions.
- That they keep abreast of changes in the governance environment and ensure CAFOD is following charity commission regulations appropriately, engaging with relevant Directors accordingly.
- That key stakeholders receive a high-quality service from the small Directorate team. This includes CAFOD colleagues and supporters, Trustees, Catholic Church officials and members of the public.
The role is part of the Governance Team, which has a broad, cross-organisational remit, working closely with CAFOD’s Directors.
The post holder will also manage the Leadership and Governance Assistant who provides direct support to CAFOD’s Executive Director and Executive Team. Line management of this post holder is provided by the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring effective Governance (60%)
- Acting as Secretary to the Trustees and Committees, ensuring that the annual meeting cycle (Governance Calendar) is followed, records of meetings are kept and that external submissions (e.g. the annual report, serious incidents, and other reporting) take place in a timely manner.
- Ensuring Trustee and Trustee committee meetings are well-planned (dates, papers, agendas, attendance, etc.) and well-run (including guidance for Chair, minuting, follow-up, action tracking, etc) and that follow up actions are monitored and undertaken.
- Liaise with Trustees on governance matters, including due diligence requests, and events, planning a schedule of Trustee travel to international programmes.
- Overseeing the recruitment and induction of trustees to CAFOD’s Board and coordinating their on-going training and development in conjunction with the Governance Lead Trustee.
- Manage the policy review processes and document management with support from the Leadership and Governance Assistant.
- Ensuring relevant policies come to the Board of Trustees for review in line with the schedule of reporting as outlined in the Governance Calendar. The meeting calendar dates are reviewed on an annual basis in October (so next review is October 2025).
- To be responsible for CAFOD Trustee’s Annual Report being produced in a timely and accurate way, commissioning a consultant.
- Liaising with the Executive Members regarding governance matters ensuring that they are able to provide relevant and accessible information in a timely manner.
- Assist with the communication of CAFOD’s governance work with key donors, supporters and other stakeholders.
- Working with the Governance Lead Trustee to implement any necessary improvements in CAFOD’s governance mechanisms.
Ensuring the effective running of the Executive Team (25%)
- Providing strategic guidance on governance issues and support to CAFOD’s Trustees and Leadership Team.
- Managing the Governance and Leadership assistant to ensure that Executive Team meetings are well-planned (dates, papers, agendas, attendance, etc.) and well-run (including minuting, follow-up, action tracking, etc.).
- Having a broad oversight of all critical projects and support the team to deliver its objectives on time and to budget.
- Brief the Executive Team on matters arising as needed especially governance.
- Process organisational grants and memberships.

Support to the Director (15%)

- When the Governance and Leadership assistant is absent, to manage the diary of the Executive Director. This includes broad insights to plan effective use of their time, including sufficient time to follow up on actions and to prepare for internal and external commitments.
- Provide support on Budget monitoring for the team with input from the Executive Director and L&G assistant.
- When required monitoring the ED inbox, ensuring that requests are followed up and that communications are drafted and signed off, as necessary.
- Forward planning and ensure coordination of travel.

People Management

Over ten million people in the UK are now ‘overindebted’, meaning they are behind on bills or are finding their debt repayments a heavy financial burden. The crisis has been growing over the last decade but has increased dramatically because of the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis. More and more people are now borrowing to cover bills and essentials.
Our campaign combines community organising with national level campaigning and advocacy work to bring the voices of those most affected by the debt crisis to the fore in debates on policy solutions. You will use your policy and campaigning expertise to help ensure the people most impacted by problem household debt have a say in influencing the policies that affect them. You will work on issues such as the growth in council tax debt and bailiff use, the huge build up in energy debt as a result of the cost of living crisis and making insolvency policy and practice fairer and more accessible so more people can get out of debt.
You will be a key member of our household debt project team, working alongside the Head of Campaigns, Head of Policy and Advocacy, Digital Campaigner and Lead Organiser.
We are looking for someone with great policy analysis and advocacy skills, a strong campaigning mindset, and a passion for social justice. We are not expecting you to already be an expert in all aspects of the role or in household debt policy but are looking for someone with the potential to develop quickly. Crucially, you will also need to appreciate why taking a community organising approach and building the power of people affected by debt is important, though you do not need to have experience in community organising.
This role will require some evening and weekend working, though this will be infrequent.

Job description
Following a restructure, DMI is looking to recruit a Grants Management Officer. This new role will provide a critical link between DMI’s national teams, HQ staff, and donors. It is an ideal role for somebody wanting to work in international development / public health as you will be exposed to a broad range of tasks and will work across all of DMI’s projects. You will also have exposure to DMI’s Africa Leadership Group, a new committee that aims to exploit the knowledge and experience of our national leadership. Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Proven experience as a senior leader in ideally a non-profit or public sector organisation

Strong and extensive operations management experience, financial leadership and programme delivery

Experience of working on projects to integrate systems and improve processes / ways of working would be highly desirable

Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organisational development and stakeholder engagement

Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of representing the charity effectively to external audience

Experience of working with a Charity Board of Trustees

Proven ability to develop a long term financial strategy and plans

Experience of developing and implementing processes and policies as well as setting standards and targets aligned to organisation objectives

A commitment to the charity's mission and values

Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to distil and communicate complex financial information in a way that is easy to understand

Ability to think strategically, anticipating future trends and developing plans accordingly

Encourage innovation and seek to understand best practice from both inside and outside the sector

Strong financial acumen and demonstrable ability to monitor, interpret and communicate financial information effectively is essential

ACCA/CIMA/ACA or an equivalent finance qualification is desirable
