A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Special Events Officer on a six month contract to join the Fundraising team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join the busy Events team. You will be responsible for assisting the team with the management of existing events to maximise income including the Carol Concert and our Defence Industry Dinner. You will need to work to agreed budgets as well as input to the setting of financial targets. 2024 is a busy year for the Events team, presenting many opportunities to get involved with fast paced, exciting events.

The SSAFA Events team is a small team with a high output, both financially and in terms of number of events produced. We work closely together and thrive to deliver high quality, successful events.
About you
To carry out this role successfully experience in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating fundraising campaigns is essential and an understanding of the charity sector and ideally a background of working in charity events is desirable. You will be diligent, conscientious and have high attention to detail. In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to develop positive relationships with our supporters in order to manage and grow existing events and relationships.

The role
As Legacy Administrator you will:
- Be first point of contact for the Legal team, representing the charity in communications with legal professionals
- Be responsible for the day to day management and coordination of legacy case file administration and stewardship for Thames Valley Air Ambulance to meet the legacy income budget

Founded nearly 20 years ago by Jane Howorth MBE, the British Hen Welfare Trust is a national hen welfare charity which rehomes over 60,000 hens a year around the UK. Based in mid Devon, and affectionately referred to as Hen Central, the charity works collaboratively with the industry, public, and many national stakeholders to improve hen welfare and raise awareness of hens around the globe. About the role
This is a very exciting time to join the team, with the imminent rehoming of the millionth hen and the national coverage this presents, you will have the opportunity to make this role your own. The full-time role of Community Fundraiser is a new position in a recently restructured Fundraising team, working with the Head of Fundraising, Individual Giving Manager and Corporate and Trust Fundraising Manager. Main Aim of the role
• A developmental and leadership role which will be a high profile in the community which will:
- Deliver a Business Plan based on a Strategic Plan, Fundraising Plan and annual budget

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FUNDRAISING
- Be a point of contact for fundraising, ensuring a positive experience for funders and managing financial transactions to agreed fundraising policies and processes.
- Develop a regional Grant Programme, focusing on unrestricted income and feeding into fundraising management reporting.
- Identify, research, and communicate income and partnership opportunities, working proactively with colleagues across the Group to scope fundable initiatives that provide added value.

Research and develop new legacy activities and create a marketing plan. We are looking for an empathetic self-starter to become our new Legacy Manager. This is a varied role, where you will be working with the Head of Individual Giving & Legacies to plan and manage the full breadth of a small legacy programme, which has huge ambition for growth.
You will be managing our legacy marketing programme; maximising the opportunities available to encourage supporters, and potential supporters to leave a gift in their Will, so that we can help more young people in the future. This currently includes a series of in-person legacy events at our centres as well as developing and delivering training to colleagues, so they are confident in promoting legacy giving to supporters they work with.
You will be the internal lead for legacy administration, working alongside our in-house legal team and our external legacy administration agency, to ensure that all estates are correctly administered, and that we realise the full value of the legacies left to The Trust. You will be working with supporters to answer their questions about legacy giving, and working with the next of kin to ensure that their loved one’s legacy is cherished.

Lingen Davies Cancer Fund exists to enhance cancer services and improve lives in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. Founded in 1979, with the aim of bringing cancer services to Shropshire for the first time, our work is now focused in three key areas: cancer prevention and early diagnosis, excellent treatment delivered locally, and living well with and beyond cancer.
