About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team to provide administrative and event delivery support across all event and fundraising activities. This will include a wide range of support tasks pre-event, onsite and post-event for the BOA’s flagship event, BOA Annual Congress, and other educational, social and fundraising events, both face to face and virtual, delivered by the team. In addition, the postholder will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive administration systems across the events and fundraising team, corresponding with members, Stakeholders, delegates, fundraisers etc, using the CRM database, updating event and fundraising content on the BOA website, and supporting content creation for social media.

Events Fundraising Assistant

Purpose of the role

Main duties and responsibilities

This role requires work across all of Leukaemia Care’s fundraising event activity – providing administrative and operational support and engaging with supporters both personally and through the charity’s communication channels. Duties and responsibilities will, at any given time, include:

• Providing administrative support to the fundraising team as required.
• Monitor fundraising event e-mail inboxes, ensuring that actions are covered off by members of the fundraising team and, where appropriate, yourself.
• Take responsibility for ensuring that fundraising event participants database records are up to date, including integration with fundraising platforms such as Just Giving. In addition, provide data reports to the Senior Event fundraisers to assist in future event planning.
• Ensure that all event fundraising materials, merchandise and equipment are organised and safely stored, and that stock is monitored especially after use.
• Be responsible for the mailing and distribution of event fundraising materials such as clothing, welcome packs, collections tins, etc.
• Ensure that the fundraising events section of the Leukaemia Care website is up to date, working with the Communications team where necessary to keep existing and potential supporters informed. This includes input into social media information, and the creation of other marketing materials.
• Add Leukaemia Care fundraising event opportunities to external websites and ensure all information posted is correct.
• Help to engage with, steward and thank Leukaemia Care fundraisers both personally, on social media groups, and through the creation and distribution of materials such as Thank You certificates, etc.
• Attend fundraising events in person, including work at events to steward and engage with fundraisers and volunteers, and to set-up and break-down event materials.  This role will require some work outside of normal office hours (evenings and weekends) where fundraising events necessitate.
• Work within the Code of Fundraising Practice as required by the Fundraising Regulator.
• Work within the General Data Protection Regulations ensuring that the charity obtains and record appropriate consents and preferences.
• Provide support to the wider fundraising and administrative team at Leukaemia Care during busy times or during periods of sickness or annual leave.

The Events and Fundraising Assistant helps to improve, develop and organise our events, including the London Legal Walk, Great Legal Bake, Great Legal Quiz and many more across London and the South East. They update our website and produce content for printed materials to promote our events programme, and assist with the recruitment and management of volunteers.

As Fundraising Assistant, you will report to, and work closely with, the Grants and Philanthropy Manager, under the overall leadership of the Director of Development and Partnerships. Norfolk Wildlife Trust prides itself in having an excellent reputation for managing its relationships with donors, sponsors, funders and potential funders sensitively at all times. You will play an important role in assisting with the stewardship of our supporters by coordinating our regular contact strategy with donors and provide administrative support to the Director of Development and Partnerships, Grants and Philanthropy Manager and Senior Philanthropy Officer.

Working closely with other fundraising officers, you will make a direct contribution to the work of the team through supporting the Fundraising Officers in delivering supporter stewardship events, co-ordinating collection boxes, online giving schemes and small-scale community giving.

You will be responsible for drafting and co-ordinating communications acknowledging supporter donations and Donations in Memory.

Key Accountabilities:

About the role

Our moderators manage Facebook groups of up to 18,000 virtual challenge participants. You will be working with some of the biggest names in the sector, supporting them to raise five and six figure sums. 

This role is perfect for skilled fundraisers who can provide excellent supporter care, and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9am (or earlier), wrap up by 9pm and adhere to our sub-three hour response time. 

As a Fundraising Group Moderator, you would be responsible for:

• Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines at all times

• Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

• Managing your own time and work on own initiative

• Responding to all post and queries in under three hours

• Maximising registration conversions and fundraiser activation 

• Providing fundraising support to challenge participants

• Ensuring that the group is a safe, constructive and positive environment

• Going above and beyond at all times to provide participants with an incredible experience

Our moderation takes place between 9am and 9pm, Monday-Sunday. Different challenges have different requirements and whilst you need to be on hand to monitor the group during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' professional fundraising experience. They will understand the importance of stewarding relationships and be committed to always acting in the best possible way for the charities we work so hard to support.

Full training will be provided alongside regular one to one and team catch ups. 

On a day to day basis you will:

• Work off your own initiative and have exceptional time management

About us:

Hospice at Home’s core service is its skilled team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who provide exceptional care and support in people’s last year of life and at end of life, also providing additional services such as Lymphoedema, Bereavement and Family Support, Befriending, Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy.

We provide individualised care and support to improve quality of life and our end of life care helps facilitate a peaceful and dignified death in the home and support to those who are bereaved.

Although we receive some funding from the NHS, we need to raise over 85% of our running costs in order to ensure that this vital help is available when needed and remains free of charge to patients and their families. Our Fundraising team plays a huge part in raising these vital funds.

Our clinical service area covers a mixture of urban and rural communities, a region of approximately 1,500 square miles throughout North and East Cumbria.

Role: Head of Fundraising and Marketing

Location: Head Office – Dalston, Cumbria.

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week

The Role of Head of Fundraising and Marketing:

Responsible for the leadership and success of fundraising and marketing for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, our Head of Fundraising and Marketing is a pivotal role, key to leading and inspiring the Fundraising and Marketing team in sustaining, developing and growing our income and income opportunities.

Utilising your exceptional leadership, events and project management skills, you will guide, support and motivate the team; implementing and managing an engaging and exciting fundraising and marketing strategy that maximises income from events, appeals, grants, corporates, legacies and any other income opportunities that align with organisational goals and vision.

Essential Criteria:

· Experience of leading and people management, interacting with people from diverse backgrounds with exceptional communication and networking skills

· Experience of event and project management in fundraising/marketing in the voluntary/charity sector

· Educated, as a minimum, to A Level standard or equivalent in relevant subjects

· Experience of managing budgets and regular reporting

· Current knowledge of Health & Safety regulations

· Excellent IT skills covering Microsoft packages, website and CRM software

· Self-motivated with the ability to delegate and negotiate

· Excellent working knowledge of the charity sector with a good knowledge of Institute of Fundraising guidelines

· Flexible and resilient to support events outside of usual office hours.

· Full clean UK driving licence and own transport

Desirable Criteria:

· Leadership qualification (ILM, CMI, CIPD or similar)

· Member of the Institute of Fundraising with a certificate in fundraising management or willing to achieve accreditation

· Project management qualification – Prince II, Agile, PMP / other

· Knowledge of healthcare and / or end of life care and the Hospice movement

· Knowledge of the geographical area covered by the service

· Experience of culture change / change management

· Experience of HR / People processes

· Experience of public speaking

Key Responsibilities

​

As an Events Fundraising Assistant, you’ll be a key member of our team:

• You will deliver planned activity for event participants recruitment, care, and communications.
• You’ll deliver event participant stewardship plans, with engaging content and communications that support participants to maximise fundraising and build a lasting relationship with Samaritans.
• You’ll track and respond to event participant enquiries, maintaining team inboxes, and any other communications channels used for events.
• You’ll attend fundraising events off site on occasions when required.
