We are looking for a Head of Health & Wellbeing who will be responsible for the strategic development of the Trust’s health and wellbeing provision. Managing and overseeing the delivery and development of existing programmes, as well as staff associated with them.

Our Head of Health & Wellbeing will work with a range of partners across the public, private and voluntary sectors to further enhance our range of activities, as well as creating new health and wellbeing initiatives which meet local priorities.

Your Roles and Responsibilities, but Not Limited To:

• Lead, develop, and support staff you manage by offering advice, guidance and an inclusive working environment.
• Develop a Trust internal wellbeing group in line with the People Strategy to create a positive and supportive working environment.
• To develop and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders and external agencies at a senior level to implement new health and wellbeing initiatives which meet the Trust’s strategic objectives, as well as supporting local health and wellbeing priorities.
• Take responsibility for developing a Health and Wellbeing Strategy to direct the Trust’s health and wellbeing provision.
• Take responsibility for monitoring programme budgets, funding meetings and liaising with partners throughout the lifetime of projects/initiatives, ensuring that the Trust’s obligations detailed in contracts/SLA’s are met.
• Set appropriate budgets and oversee, manage, and monitor these, to ensure the targets are achieved.
• Work with the Community Director and funding officer to identify and submit relevant grants, funding applications, and tenders/bids for commissioned work.
• Secure funding and increase unrestricted income streams to support on-going programme delivery and sustainability of the department.
• Oversee the implementation of a robust, high-quality data capture process to ensure the department can evidence impact and social value of its programmes through a variety of methods such as reports, case studies, testimonies, media articles, and feedback surveys.

You Must Have:

• Significant experience of line managing, leading and developing staff and volunteers creating a strong team culture and inclusive working environment.
• Success in building relationships both internally and externally, working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
• Proven experience of working at management / leadership level.
• Experienced in project management, ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams and completing priorities.
• Sound experience of setting and managing budgets.
• Proven track record of securing funding for projects or initiatives including local, regional and national funders through partnership work and / or bid writing.
• Ability to identify trends and analyse data to inform decision making.
• An experience of leading, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and safeguarding.
• A level 3 (‘A’ Level or equivalent) qualification or higher in a health-related subject, or other relevant subject area.
• A full and valid UK Driving Licence, as well as access to a vehicle for work.
• Influential communicator with a range of audiences, and the ability to use a range of different mediums, with written skills to an excellent standard.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure, meet deadlines and have an attention to detail.
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and relationship management skills to build and maintain strong professional relationships and connect with partners priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team with differing views and needs.
• Have a flexible approach to work and be able to work unsociable hours (including some evenings and weekends).

You Ideally Would Have:

• Knowledge and understanding of the health priorities across Hertfordshire and Harrow.
• Experience of putting together service level agreements/contracts for project partners.
• Experience of using IT systems to monitor and evaluate the delivery of services.
• Experience of event management.
• Valid Emergency Aid and Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults’ certificates (or willing to complete these prior to commencing in the role).
• Minimum Level 3 Personal Trainer Qualification and GP referral Qualification.
• Educated to Degree Level - Health and Fitness Related.

The Role:

As part of our mission, FareShare Midlands is delighted to be able to deliver our I-Can employability programme as part of Birmingham City Council’s PURE project. The programme will provide a range of wellbeing, training and employment support to vulnerable residents of Birmingham in order to improve their lives and move them closer to the jobs market.

About Slough Foodbank

Slough Foodbank believes that no one in the community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced, emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in food poverty crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Last year we provided 12,147 emergency food parcels, which was a 7% increase on the previous year. In addition to providing food and basic toiletries, we try, by means of signposting and monitoring and discussions with the supporting referrer to give a helping hand through a crisis.

Job purpose

We’re seeking an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to manage the recruitment, training and ongoing support of our team of 130 Volunteers. You will have excellent communication and organisation skills whilst at the same time being sensitive to volunteers and their needs and have an encouraging approach. Main duties & Responsibilities

The Volunteer Coordinator has responsibility for increasing the number of volunteers, including those with lived experience, developing the volunteers we already have and spending time developing training and supervision opportunities to retain and support our volunteers. The role is varied and responsibilities include:

The Refugee Council supports separated children across England and part of our service is a team of staff based in Dover, working 24/7 to provide a temporary safeguarding service for children arriving there, ensuring that their basic needs are met while they await transfer to the care of a local authority. The unit is reactive to the needs of clients, who may arrive at any time.

As a Night Support Worker, you will be expected to:

Volunteering Coordinator  

Reporting to: Volunteer Recruitment Manager 

Salary: £24,570 - £25,340 pro rata  

Hours: Flexible between 30-37.5 hours per week

Purpose of the role:  

Volunteers are the backbone of our operation at FSSW, we recruit over 350 volunteers from a myriad of backgrounds, who make up around 90% of our team. The volunteers help with every aspect of the operation from driving our vans, picking orders to administrative duties.  They gift their time to FSSW for many reasons including wanting to be part of the solution to food waste, ensuring perfectly good in-date surplus reaches people in need, giving back to their local community or some are looking for professional and/or personal development.

We have built a volunteer programme which supports a wide demographic of people. This role will primarily lead on: 

Rota and Data Management 

• Work with the Warehouse Managers and the wider FSSW team to ensure the roles advertised reflect the needs of the operation 

• Work with the Volunteer Recruitment Manager to ensure the rota is filled and monitor patterns, themes or fluctuations.

• Attend any required meetings with the operations team around volunteer roles, rota, and retention.

• Ensure the CRM system (Salesforce) is kept up to date

• Maintain volunteer information and confidentiality, ensuring compliance with GDPR and safeguarding policies 

Recruitment and Retention Support 

• Support the Volunteer recruitment manager in aspects of the recruitment process including responding to enquiries, inductions and developing the volunteer retention and recruitment plan.

• Work with the wider FSSW team to support and develop volunteering opportunities for corporate supporters and food partners 

• Work with the Head of Department, volunteering team & employability teams to feed into volunteer and employability programmes 

• Analyse and monitor volunteer retention, noting positive reasons for moving on and be part of developing strategies to improve retention  

Communications

• Respond to/answer any enquiries/communications via telephone, email, in person or via inhouse IT/systems 

• Respond to volunteer no shows or gaps in the rota to solve any connected issues 

• Be part of delivering an ongoing internal communications plan to ensure staff and volunteers are up to date with plans, developments and activities involving volunteers

• Work with the communications and volunteering teams to actively engage and promote the volunteer programme across Bristol   

Volunteer experience and pastoral care

• Maintain a positive and supportive volunteer programme and experience 

• Lead on volunteer wellbeing throughout the shift and provide appropriate support where needed 

• Host corporate volunteering days across Bristol 

• Support and progress the volunteers FSSW journey and experience to create positive community impact and support volunteer retention 

• Work with the volunteer team to develop opportunities within the volunteer shift or events that enhance the volunteer experience, wellbeing, and retention.

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Lauriston Farm Limited, Charitable Community Benefit Society

We are a community owned, charitable co-operative which practices Social Farming on a certified biodynamic farm on the Blackwater Estuary, near Maldon in Essex.  Launched in 2017 and building on thirteen years of development, we provide a wide range of educational opportunities through meaningful work experiences to many people, especially those with a learning disability and/or autism (LDA).  We also undertake extensive conservation work through on the farm’s 210 acres which includes rare breed cattle and sheep, laying hens, vegetable growing, woolly crafts and a community kitchen processing produce and providing daily lunches.  Produce is sold locally at markets, weekly deliveries and directly from the farm.  We also have a volunteering program, give talks to local interest groups and work closely with Essex County Council, local SEND schools and colleges and The Country Trust.  It is a beautiful, tranquil setting, we are inspired by the work of Rudolf Steiner and anthroposophy and are a Disabilty Confident employer.

We launched a new seven-year business plan in 2024 as we have access to new buildings and other opportunities which will further diversify and increase our activities, notably into overnight accommodation.  Key to this expansion is the introduction of a full time Operations Manager to oversee all the day to day activities of the farm, ensuring internal policies and procedures are followed and external regulations are adhered to including personnel management (eleven employees), financial reporting including charitable grant applications/reporting, safeguarding, food hygiene, first aid and health and safety. We are a small, person-centred team with a good track record of delivery.  During term time, there are around fifty people on the farm each week with over 2,500 social farming day places being offered every year.

The role reports directly to the Trustees and works shoulder to shoulder with the current Farm Director.  It requires previous experience of a similar role, ideally in a charity or co-operative, excellent communication and organisational skills, an empathy for nature as well as a passion for chemical free farming.  Experience of working alongside people with learning disabilities and/or autism is highly desirable as half our current employees have a learning disability.  We are an inclusive employer and we welcome applications from people with a disability.

The post is grant funded for three years with a 5% salary increase built in per year.  After three years, the role will be funded through the increase in financial activity.

We take safeguarding of all vulnerable people on the farm very seriously and you will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check if successful. We are running a two-stage interview process.  Selected candidates will be required to attend an interview and from this we will shortlist candidates for a second interview involving a presentation and undertaking of a couple of tasks.

Hours and salary

Normal working hours are 7 per day, 9am to 5pm, five days per week (lunch 1-2pm).

This is a salaried position set at £35,000 for year one with a 5% increase in year two and year three.

LAURISTON FARM JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Operations Manager

Purpose of role

A new, central organisational role responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all day to day activities through compliance with external regulations and management of internal procedures, policies, staff and finance. 

Duties & Responsibilities for this post:

Day to day management

• Co-ordinate all activity streams to ensure staff awareness and a meaningful experience for all service users Maintain a central diary and signing sheets for all pre-arranged, regular, and ad-hoc farm visitors
• Diary co-ordination with office team for farm walks, open days, off farm talks, SEND colleges, volunteers, Primary school visits.
• Maintain a diary for annual events e.g. vehicle MOTs, insurance renewal, equipment servicing and ensure relevant actions are taken Oversee room use and ensure all facilities are kept clean and tidy, including reporting maintenance needs Manage bookings from external organizations Manage consumables stockkeeping and raise orders as required Communicate with families and key workers of all social farming participants Maintain internal paperwork systems for all social farming initiatives Communicate with potential social farming participants in collaboration with Farm Director

Personnel Management

• Act as central point of contact for all staff and volunteers, triage queries and direct them as appropriate Overall management of all staff and volunteers, direct line management of all non-land working staff. Arrange sickness and holiday cover for all staff including cover for markets Responsible for undertaking grievance and disciplinary procedures New staff inductions Training records and other compliance records for all staff and volunteers Staff reviews Organise staff training

Compliance

• Oversee compliance with relevant legislation (e.g. risk assessments, safeguarding, food hygiene, GDPR, health and safety) and internal policies and procedures Process DBS applications and renewal Oversee compliance with best practice for day placements Ensure any accidents/incidents are properly recorded Manage reviews of risk assessments, policies and procedures

Finance

• Produce monthly P&L vs budget report (Xero)
• Produce monthly cash flow report
• Co-write, present and oversee compliance with annual budget
• Investigate budget compliance anomalies
• Liaise with office manager regarding debtors and creditors
• Assist with annual returns Assist with writing reports for grant providers

General Duties

• Demonstrate and promote the values of Lauriston Farm Limited.

The University of Manchester Students’ Union are looking for a new Financial Wellbeing Manager to join an exciting new team and project designed to support student’s in meeting their basic needs.

The Financial Wellbeing Manager will be joining the organisation at an exciting time, as we look to establish a brand-new Basic Needs Centre to support students in meeting their basic needs. They’ll be responsible for the design and implementation of a new financial education and support offering as part of the new Basic Needs team, supporting students with issues relating to key issues like food, housing, and finance.

As Financial Wellbeing Manager, you’ll support students to improve their financial literacy, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to better manage their finances, and ensure that they are well-informed about the support available to them. With an increasing cost-of-living, rising student rents, and wider financial challenges on the horizon, the Financial Wellbeing Manager will need to be proactive and adaptable as we aim to prevent students from reaching a financial crisis.

As this is a new and evolving project, there is a great deal of opportunity to develop the role and the financial support offering within the Basic Needs Centre.
