About us
Who we are
We are Watford Football Club’s Community Sports and Education Trust. An official registered charity (Charity No: 1102239) that has been proudly supporting people and communities on behalf of Watford Football Club for over thirty years, as originally established by Graham Taylor OBE and Sir Elton John. We continue this legacy today by engaging people of all ages and backgrounds through high-quality community-based initiatives and services. These activities span across health and wellbeing, football and sports development, and facilities and inclusion, which include our two community hubs – Meriden Community Centre and Cedars Youth and Community Centre.
Being registered with the Charities Commission we are governed in accordance with charitable law and comply to the Charity Code of Governance in order to develop the highest standards of governance. A board of Trustees exists, as well as the notable patrons of the former elected Mayor of Watford, Baroness Dorothy Thornhill MBE, and the Taylor family.
Our communities include Hertfordshire and Harrow but we are continuously exploring new and exciting ventures to expand the Watford FC family. We currently employ over 60 members of full and part-time staff, 60 members of sessional staff, and over 40 active volunteers, all with a passion for making an impact to the lives of those we engage.

Our culture and values
Our Values:
To be honest, reliable, and trustworthy – Integrity.
To be inclusive in all our decision-making – Inclusivity.

Our Culture: We are a values-based and vision-driven charity, who put our people and our beneficiaries at the heart of everything we do and why we do it.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion are more than principles – they are part of our identity as a Trust and a community. It is vital for the Trust to embed preventive and educational tools to promote Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in everything we do.
Our strong community ethos dates back to the 1980s, championed by Graham Taylor and Sir Elton John, who built a legacy of ensuring that local people remain at the heart of our work.
Watford FC CSE Trust offers a variety of programmes and manages two community facilities, dedicated to supporting individuals of all backgrounds. With a strong commitment to inclusivity, we strive to inspire, empower, and engage local people, helping them create a positive impact in our community.
As a charity, we continuously adapt to meet the changing needs of our communities, working closely with the Club. By gathering participant data annually across all our programmes, we identify trends and make informed, evidence-based decisions to enhance our impact.
