About the Role
Contributing over 50% of the organisation’s fundraised income, this role is crucial for Help for Heroes. Working with your team, you’ll be responsible for the organisation’s legacy marketing strategy and administration, as well as the in memory giving strategy, maximising both income sources so that we can deliver more services to veterans. You will be able to make a significant impact and will use your expertise to drive forward the programmes. There’s lots of scope and potential for someone to make a real difference and achieve considerable success!
About the Team
The post holder will be working as part of the Individual Giving team in the Commercial Directorate which includes Supporter Care, Individual Giving and Legacy & In Memory. Across all our relationships, we build trust and engagement with our supporters and with each other. The quality of how we deliver our objectives is just as important as the end results. To design and implement Agenda Alliance’s fundraising approach that will generate income and develop diverse income streams. Manage funder relationships and lead our work with trusts and foundations and our philanthropy programme, as well as potential corporate partnerships and events.

About You
- Skilled at identifying new funding opportunities from trusts, individuals and corporates etc.
- A natural relationship manager, who can build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to secure funds, buy in, and gather key information.
- Excellent written communication skills - able to translate complicated policy into accessible content, to write compelling funding proposals, write engaging communications for newsletter as well as writing reports for the board.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including presenting and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the fundraising landscape in the UK.
- Database management skills, including data insight led fundraising, knowledge of GDPR and charity law as applied to fundraising.
- Strong events management and administration skills, time management and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative, adaptable and detail-oriented approach.
- Effective working as part of a team and with managing the on-time delivery of tasks from various colleagues.

- Experience of research and prospecting – ideally with the knowledge of which individuals, Trusts and corporates to approach and the best ways to engage them.

The purpose of this role is to work with the CEO and Senior Leadership Group to ensure the smooth running of the organisation – people, finance, and workplace; to support the delivery of the Centre’s activities and provide PA support to the Director and Senior Management. A key part of the role will be to lead on regular financial and operational systems.

Key responsibilities include:
Operations and Governance

Identify, design and implement new processes to more effectively manage the organisation’s administration

Lead on the day-to-day facilities coordination, general office housekeeping, health and safety

Lead on organisational IT and data security - maintaining the shared document storage systems, and liaising with IT service providers.

Finance

Lead on the day to day book keeping to maintain accurate financial records.

Arrange payments of bills, processing expenses and being the primary contact with suppliers.

The global and anonymous nature of the internet and digital communication presents numerous significant opportunities for wildlife criminals and challenges for those dedicated to stopping them. IFAW pursues a multipronged strategy to tackle wildlife cybercrime that includes working with policymakers, law enforcement agencies, the private sector, civil society organisations, and the general public in order to disrupt the ability of criminals to use the internet and its support systems for the trafficking of wildlife throughout the supply chain. By reducing incentives to participate in the illegal wildlife trade, IFAW improves the conservation status of wildlife in priority habitats and the welfare of individual animals while supporting the development of international best practices in a large, complex and constantly evolving sector.
The Program Manager, Wildlife Cybercrime will lead IFAW’s sub-program focusing on wildlife cybercrime and deliver its strategy, under the Wildlife Crime strategy. The position will contribute to IFAW remaining a recognised leader and convener in this field and strengthening IFAW conservation programs’ impacts as well as programs implemented by governments, NGOs or other organisations, such as the Coalition to end wildlife trafficking online. The position will provide support to program and country project managers and staff and will be responsible for ensuring both internal and external projects are implemented in compliance with the highest standards and are in line with IFAW internal procedures and with those of any external funding partners.
In recognition that this is a niche and growth area for IFAW, the Program Manager, Wildlife Cybercrime will actively participate in the identification and winning of new funding opportunities and in generating and participating in connections with other potential funders or supporters as required.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IFAW’s sub-program focusing on wildlife cybercrime, including but not limited to developing and implementing strategies, contributing and reporting against IFAW programmatic objectives, expanding and strengthening external networks, coordinating cross-regional work, and managing and delivering both internal and external projects to a high standard, according to work plans and institutional strategies, on time and within budget.
- Ensure IFAW remains a recognised leader in wildlife cybercrime by ensuring the organisation's work evolves to reflect new challenges and opportunities for growth through innovation and collaboration.
- To act as a thought leader for IFAW and contribute to the development and utilisation of international best practices for tackling wildlife cybercrime.
- Provide support to the strategic direction and evolution of the Wildlife Crime Program, including but not limited to the identification, winning, and implementation of new projects.
- Identify and create opportunities for cross-programmatic work and collaborate to ensure IFAW priorities are considered in the policy sphere.
- Act as a spokesperson for the cybercrime portfolio, representing the organization to, and building positive relationships with, NGO’s, politicians, Government officials, business representatives, other key contacts, and all media platforms.
- Oversee the development and utilization of IFAW internal Monitoring and Evaluation systems to record data from wildlife cybercrime activities.
- Work with Institutional Giving, other program relevant colleagues, and Development to identify and win funding opportunities.
- In collaboration with IFAW Financial colleagues, utilize IFAW tools and systems to manage budgets as necessary, including having oversight and authority over the Global Cybercrime budget.
- Work closely with IFAW Communications team to develop and implement a project Communications Plan that communicates the full range of IFAW activities relating to wildlife cybercrime.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- BS/BA degree preferred. MS/MA degree in biological, social science, public policy, economics, forensic science, criminology or related field ideal.
- High level of professionalism – the mix of dependability, initiative, industry, and ability to make sound judgments within agreed guidelines that will earn respect and achieve success in chaotic, fast-moving, and high-pressure environments. Ability to both work unsupervised and as part of a team, as well as manage and mentor a team, including without direct authority, to meet deadlines and deal with a demanding and complex workload, and flexible working hours.
- Demonstrated experience leading a dispersed team and influencing activities without direct management authority. Preferred minimum of 5 years of working experience in project management.
- Experience handling several projects at any one given time across multiple time zones, including scheduling and budgeting, ability to plan effectively, and attention to detail.
- Preferred minimum 2 years of working experience on wildlife crime and, if possible, including wildlife cyber-enabled crime-specific issues. Expertise in OSINT, digital forensics, and the management of sensitive information, including e-evidence and collaboration with law enforcement, are a plus.
- A demonstrable network or evidence of collaborative working with other NGOs in conservation, animal welfare, organised crime, or corruption-related communities. Existing relationships with other key stakeholders in conservation, such as private sector, law enforcement agencies, IGOs, and governmental institutions, are a plus.
- Strong writing, media, and verbal communication skills, including developing professional reports and grant applications to funding partners. Demonstrable experience participating and speaking at public events and in the media. Track records in successfully leading restricted funding proposals.
- Team player who understands when and how to involve senior management in making decisions and understands and can work within a matrix management system.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Fluency and competency in any other language is a plus.
- Culturally sensitive, demonstrable experience of working across different countries and cultures.

The role:
This key role will add substantial grant-making and strategic capacity to the AFF team, which currently consists of 6 people reporting to the Director of A Fairer Future. The role will take on existing relationships in the form of a portfolio of organisations at various points in their funding journey. This person will pick up these relationships and ensure continuity as well as contributing to strategic initiatives, helping to achieve impact in the thematic areas covered by the AFF strategy and roadmaps. Committed to social justice, the candidate will be ambitious to help create change using the foundation's full range of tools and approaches.
Convening collaborations, commissioning research and mobilising networks to create change will all be part of this role in addition to the more day to day management of organisation’s funding journey, supporting them from application onwards to achieve the best possible impact. They will also be responsible for capturing learning from reporting, site visits and facilitating online discussions with organsiations as well as representing the Foundation at sector forums and events concentrating on the AFF priority areas.
The culture at the foundation is collaborative and nurturing, so working closely with colleagues to share ideas and learn from each other will be essential in this role.
The person:
The successful candidate will have experience of working in one or more of the areas cover by the AFF priorities, perhaps gained through work in the voluntary or local authority sector. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience in arts and creativity making change and/or racial justice, but are also interested to hear from those with experience in children and young people’s rights, gender justice and migrant justice. This experience could have been gained from the delivering or commissioning programmes in these areas or indeed from a grant making perspective.
Highly organised, intellectually curious and pragmatic, this person will be able to unpick complex information and will be confident in assessing applicants’ financial information. They will understand the charity funding world and importantly, the challenges faced by marginalised communities across the UK in the face of widespread inequity. The AFF team works with the Involving Young People’s Collective, candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the value of co-production.
IT confident and systematic on their approach, this person will also be helpful and empathetic in addition to being an excellent communicator both in person and in written work. Excellent attention to detail, thorough and collaborative in their approach to work, this person will be a real team player whilst being able to work under their own steam.
An understanding and experience of systems change principles and an appreciation of the nuanced intersections between the various priorities of the AFF programme will be important to success in this role. This is a newly created position at Woman’s Trust, reflecting the critical need for impactful insights and evaluation of our services. The Data Insights Manager will lead, motivate, and develop an efficient and dynamic insights team and will strategically work with the Service Delivery team to turn the data collected by Woman’s Trust into actionable insights, so that we can better support the women accessing our services.

Role Overview -
