Your Roles and Responsibilities, but Not Limited To:
- Lead, develop, and support staff you manage by offering advice, guidance and an inclusive working environment.
- Develop a Trust internal wellbeing group in line with the People Strategy to create a positive and supportive working environment.
- To develop and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders and external agencies at a senior level to implement new health and wellbeing initiatives which meet the Trust’s strategic objectives, as well as supporting local health and wellbeing priorities.
- Take responsibility for developing a Health and Wellbeing Strategy to direct the Trust’s health and wellbeing provision.
- Take responsibility for monitoring programme budgets, funding meetings and liaising with partners throughout the lifetime of projects/initiatives, ensuring that the Trust’s obligations detailed in contracts/SLA’s are met.
- Set appropriate budgets and oversee, manage, and monitor these, to ensure the targets are achieved.
- Work with the Community Director and funding officer to identify and submit relevant grants, funding applications, and tenders/bids for commissioned work.
- Secure funding and increase unrestricted income streams to support on-going programme delivery and sustainability of the department.
- Oversee the implementation of a robust, high-quality data capture process to ensure the department can evidence impact and social value of its programmes through a variety of methods such as reports, case studies, testimonies, media articles, and feedback surveys.
You Must Have:
- Significant experience of line managing, leading and developing staff and volunteers creating a strong team culture and inclusive working environment.
- Success in building relationships both internally and externally, working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Proven experience of working at management / leadership level.
- Experienced in project management, ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams and completing priorities.
- Sound experience of setting and managing budgets.
- Proven track record of securing funding for projects or initiatives including local, regional and national funders through partnership work and / or bid writing.
- Ability to identify trends and analyse data to inform decision making.
- An experience of leading, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and safeguarding.
- A level 3 (‘A’ Level or equivalent) qualification or higher in a health-related subject, or other relevant subject area.
- A full and valid UK Driving Licence, as well as access to a vehicle for work.
- Influential communicator with a range of audiences, and the ability to use a range of different mediums, with written skills to an excellent standard.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, meet deadlines and have an attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and relationship management skills to build and maintain strong professional relationships and connect with partners priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team with differing views and needs.
- Have a flexible approach to work and be able to work unsociable hours (including some evenings and weekends).
You Ideally Would Have:
- Knowledge and understanding of the health priorities across Hertfordshire and Harrow.
- Experience of putting together service level agreements/contracts for project partners.
- Experience of using IT systems to monitor and evaluate the delivery of services.
- Experience of event management.
- Valid Emergency Aid and Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults’ certificates (or willing to complete these prior to commencing in the role).
- Minimum Level 3 Personal Trainer Qualification and GP referral Qualification.
- Educated to Degree Level - Health and Fitness Related.

Summary
The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

The NCIs comprises a wide variety of functions and professions to support the mission and ministries of the Church by working with those who serve in parishes, dioceses, schools and other ministries, and with partners at a national and international level.
- Reviewing risk assessments that have been completed by staff and line managers, requesting additional information, and advising on risk mitigation;
- Supporting requests for adjustments and additional equipment may be required, including requests for Access to Work funding, liaising with Facilities and Technology Services as required;
- Supporting the Head of Health & Safety in reviewing accidents and incidents that occur across NCI sites or involve colleagues in the course of their work;
- Advising staff travelling overseas on potential risks;
- Managing the lone worker safety devices used by the NCIs;
- Administering our Health Cash Plan scheme;
- Day to day administration of our Health & Safety reporting system;
- Assisting in the preparation of Health & Safety reports e.g., the Joint Staff Council and Health and Safety forum.
As an adviser within the HR Operations team, you will also get involved in responding to other types of HR queries via email, phone and Teams chat, and supporting colleagues in using our Oracle Employee and Manager self-service.
This is a hybrid working role which can be based in our offices in either York or London. We typically work from the office at least one day per week, and remote for the remainder of the time. Visits to other NCI work locations may also be required from time to time.
You'll need previous experience of advising on and reviewing health and safety risks, including Display Screen Equipment, lone working and overseas travel with, or working towards, a recognised Health & Safety certificate (e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent).
We're looking for someone who has:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with accuracy and attention to detail including with numerical data. You will need to be able to communicate clearly to stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
- An enthusiastic and highly organised approach to work, with the ability to understand and process high volumes of information. You will need to be able to work comfortably with competing priorities and show flexibility in your approach to customers to understand differing expectations.
An interest in and willingness to learn broader HR policies and processes. Experience in HR in addition to Health & Safety would be an advantage.

The Role:
The role of HR Manager with the Trust presents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. You will be the lead for Trust HR matters and will provide a comprehensive HR service which ensures that all employees and volunteers are equipped with relevant policies, processes, practices and systems to foster a high-performance culture.
You will play a key role in helping to evolve, implement and bring to life the Trust’s new People Strategy. You can expect the role to be hands-on and you will work closely with the senior leadership team to deliver the strategic objectives contained within the strategy, which will help drive and support organisational improvement.
The Job involves but isn’t limited to:
- Lead on the development, implementation, and communication of the Trust’s HR policies, procedures, practices and systems for employees and volunteers, and ensure they are reviewed and updated annually.
- Be responsible for managing and maintaining records on the Trust’s HR system
- Providing business support to the Community Director and senior leadership team and produce reports and updates for them, including providing recommendations for HR improvements.
- Work closely with all departments, assisting line managers to understand, review, improve and implement HR policies and procedures in line with internal learning and Industry standard best practices.
- Lead our people processes managing the entire employee life cycle including safer recruitment, selection, contracts, performance management and exit interviews.
- Be the Trust’s responsible owner for our People Strategy/Action Plan, incorporating actions from our Investors in People assessment(s), our Colleague Engagement Survey and other People and Culture initiatives.
- Lead on the development of a bespoke Recruitment and Retention Strategy to meet the current and future staffing and cultural needs of the Trust.
- Use evidence-based research to build and maintain a diverse workforce linked to our Trust EDI action plan.
In addition the job holder has line management responsibilities for our:
- Learning and Development Officer leading on delivering and evaluating high-quality learning and development opportunities for the Trust.
- Business Support Officer leading principally on the provision of customer service, Trust bookings and payments and the recruitment of, and engagement with our Volunteers.
- Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer working towards the delivery of our EDI Action Plan including policies, education and a wide variety of events and workshops.
- Risk and Compliance Officer leading on routine data protection and health and safety requirements for the Trust and the maintenance and review of our risk registers.
You must have:
- Minimum level 5 CIPD qualified or verified equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Proven track record as a HR generalist, preferably in a senior role.
- Able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters in a professional manner.
- An understanding of HR legislation.
- Experience of using HR Information Systems.
- Experience of developing and writing HR policies, procedures, offers and contracts of employment.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, maintaining empathy whilst taking ownership and responsibility for individual decisions.
- The ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands, prioritise tasks and plan own workload to meet deadlines.
- To have the confidence and ability to communicate with people at all levels and represent the Trust in a professional manner at all times.

OPERATIONS MANAGER
Lauriston Farm Limited, Charitable Community Benefit Society
We are a community owned, charitable co-operative which practices Social Farming on a certified biodynamic farm on the Blackwater Estuary, near Maldon in Essex. Launched in 2017 and building on thirteen years of development, we provide a wide range of educational opportunities through meaningful work experiences to many people, especially those with a learning disability and/or autism (LDA). We also undertake extensive conservation work through on the farm’s 210 acres which includes rare breed cattle and sheep, laying hens, vegetable growing, woolly crafts and a community kitchen processing produce and providing daily lunches. Produce is sold locally at markets, weekly deliveries and directly from the farm. We also have a volunteering program, give talks to local interest groups and work closely with Essex County Council, local SEND schools and colleges and The Country Trust. It is a beautiful, tranquil setting, we are inspired by the work of Rudolf Steiner and anthroposophy and are a Disabilty Confident employer.
We launched a new seven-year business plan in 2024 as we have access to new buildings and other opportunities which will further diversify and increase our activities, notably into overnight accommodation. Key to this expansion is the introduction of a full time Operations Manager to oversee all the day to day activities of the farm, ensuring internal policies and procedures are followed and external regulations are adhered to including personnel management (eleven employees), financial reporting including charitable grant applications/reporting, safeguarding, food hygiene, first aid and health and safety. We are a small, person-centred team with a good track record of delivery. During term time, there are around fifty people on the farm each week with over 2,500 social farming day places being offered every year.
The role reports directly to the Trustees and works shoulder to shoulder with the current Farm Director. It requires previous experience of a similar role, ideally in a charity or co-operative, excellent communication and organisational skills, an empathy for nature as well as a passion for chemical free farming. Experience of working alongside people with learning disabilities and/or autism is highly desirable as half our current employees have a learning disability. The post is grant funded for three years with a 5% salary increase built in per year. After three years, the role will be funded through the increase in financial activity.
We take safeguarding of all vulnerable people on the farm very seriously and you will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check if successful. We are running a two-stage interview process. Purpose of role
A new, central organisational role responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all day to day activities through compliance with external regulations and management of internal procedures, policies, staff and finance.
Duties & Responsibilities for this post:
Day to day management
- Co-ordinate all activity streams to ensure staff awareness and a meaningful experience for all service users Maintain a central diary and signing sheets for all pre-arranged, regular, and ad-hoc farm visitors
- Diary co-ordination with office team for farm walks, open days, off farm talks, SEND colleges, volunteers, Primary school visits.

The role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this second-lead senior management role supports the CEO in delivering the organisations business strategy. As the statutory service lead for Greenwich Carers Centre, the role is responsible for ensuring the contract compliant delivery of a small portfolio of non-regulated local authority funded services that provide front line support to carers within the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
The role deputises for the Chief Executive and leads a dedicated staff team actively providing essential emotional and practical support to carers across the borough. As the second most senior post in the organisation, the role engages with stakeholders and influences, shapes and informs across most aspects of the charity’s day-to-day operations. By working with the CEO and external fundraising colleagues the role helps to shape the charity by informing the development of grant funded programmes that; provide specialist support to carers, add value to our statutory services, and extend our charity by building upon a consistent level of notable business achievement.

We’re looking for someone with great organisational skills to join the A Rocha UK Churches team as Eco Church Team Administrator. The Eco Church programme helps churches of all shapes, sizes and traditions along the journey of caring for the environment. Eco Church is growing rapidly, with over 8,000 registered churches and more than 4,000 awarded churches to date! As the programme grows, we’re seeking someone who can make a significant contribution to the efficient running of the Eco Church programme, by supporting the Head of Church Relations in their leadership of the programme and also the wider Churches team in the smooth running of Eco Church.
This is a great opportunity for a Christian with good administration skills to contribute to an exciting and expanding ecumenical scheme supporting God’s call to care for the earth.
Purpose of role:
This role will make a significant contribution to the efficient running of the Eco Church programme by supporting the Head of Church Relations in their leadership of the programme and also the wider Churches team in the smooth running of Eco Church as well as contributing to the life of our small modern ‘hub’ office close to mainline station and tube, with good cycling facilities and parking. The successful candidate will combine good organisational skills, with good people and teamwork skills, and discretion in handling confidential information.
