In short, we are the Carer's friend and advocate, often helping Carers through difficult times.
The Role:
This role involves one to one support for Carers of people with dementia, providing information, guidance, and advocacy, developing and delivering dementia training for Carers and facilitating support groups. This role also includes coordinating and delivering monthly Dementia Cafes for people with dementia and their Carers, including supervising cafe volunteers.
Your skills and Experience:
The successful applicant will have outstanding organisational and communication skills, be confident delivering training and outreach. They will be able to manage conflicting demands with tight deadlines, be a key team player and committed to working with Carers and volunteers.
They will have excellent IT skills and be able to adapt to providing services both face to face and via virtual platforms, whilst maintaining a consistent service for Carers.

Position: Wellbeing Activities and Volunteer Coordinator
Location: Reading
Hours: Full-time, Office based with an immediate start
Contract: 1-year contract – renewed subject to funding
Salary: £25,584 pro rata + 6% pension

About the role:
As the Wellbeing Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, you will manage the recruitment and support of volunteers and run projects and events aimed at supporting asylum and refugees in engaging in social and wellbeing activities, building networks, and getting to know the local area. Through a programme of holistic activities including, wellbeing activities, language support, employment support and cultural / community activities.

• To run the weekly drop in centre.

• Run at least three information sessions about mental health and access to treatment for refugees and asylum seekers in Reading.
• Liaise and communicate with other projects and organisations in Reading as appropriate, signpost and refer clients to group activities, and advertise programmes to promote maximum participation.
• To promote activities and events amongst the client group through appropriate means (emailing, texting posters, fliers, word of mouth)
Volunteer Coordinator
• To recruit and select suitable volunteers in line with the policies and procedures.
• To liaise with other staff members on recruitment needs for volunteers.
• To support staff members who themselves manage volunteers regarding any volunteering issues.
• Be the contact point for volunteers
• To deliver basic induction training for volunteers and appropriate ongoing and ad hoc training in coordination with staff members.
• Ensure appropriate and regular supervision meetings are held
• Maintaining and developing projects managed by volunteers and supporting volunteers in this process.
About you:
The role would suit someone who is confident in communication, has some cultural awareness and can uphold the values of the charity. All candidates should have strong ethical standards, and team spirit and be passionate about working with asylum seekers and refugees. You will have practical IT skills, be able to work to strict deadlines and have good organisational and methodical skills.

The Role

Key Responsibilities (Core Focus):

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on an externally funded outreach project providing hard to reach young people with the opportunity to try free boating sessions over the summer holidays.
This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, organised, creative, tenacious, positive and IT competent with experience in project management.
You need to be able to motivate and inspire your project team, ensuring that the project is on target through continuous monitoring and evaluation. The On The Water Project Coordinator will be responsible for the line management of 3 fixed-term Project Assistants.
Whilst this role is homebased for the majority of the time, it requires the post holder to travel to each of the locations intensively throughout the 5 week delivery period, as well as regular travel for both the planning and evaluation periods. Travel expenses are covered as part of the role.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and ensure the delivery of the On the Water project.
- To manage the temporary Project Assistants at Royal Docks, Midlands and Port Edgar Boat Stations
- Work with the Project Assistants and Growth and Development Workers to enable the effective recruitment of young people, particularly those facing difficulties or disadvantage to the project through recruitment and referrals from local authorities, schools and other relevant bodies
- Devise, plan and implement systems to record and report on the project’s activity, progress and outcomes
- Manage the budget in accordance with the agreed expenditure targets, ensuring that accurate records are maintained
- Ensure the safe and smooth running of delivery in line with all internal policies
- Manage the evaluation, wrap up and future planning of the project
- Ensure the project meets it's targets and funders have timely and accurate reports
- Develop robust monitoring and booking systems and ensure they are rolled out, understood, and used across all 3 sites

About the Role:
As the Delivery and Volunteer Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Educational Partnerships team in London and the SE. This means you'll be supporting our work with schools that serve young people from areas with the greatest barriers to social mobility. Your mission will be to ensure YE’s programmes in London and the SE are delivered effectively and ensure our volunteers feel well supported throughout their volunteer journey with YE.
You’ll be a key member of YE’s Educational Partnerships Regional Team, collaborating closely with Educational Partnerships Managers, the Educational Partnerships Regional Manager, the Volunteering Team and National Fundraising to support the success of our enterprise and financial education programmes. These programmes are designed to help young people make positive contributions to their communities and society, while equipping them with the tools to shape their own future.
This is a dynamic and rewarding role where no two days are the same. There is a degree of manual handling and you may be required to work some evenings and weekends. You will engage directly with internal and external stakeholders and take responsibility for several reporting and administration processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Nurture Relationships: Cultivate and expand internal and external relationships that facilitate the delivery of YE’s programmes and services effectively.
- Volunteer Management: Identify, recruit and locally train event-based volunteers. This will include harnessing excellent relationships with volunteers, ensuring that our volunteers are supported on their journey with YE.
- Event support: Manage all the logistics for various events that occur as part of YE’s programmes over the course of an academic year. Including, launches, training, trade fairs and showcases.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work alongside your regional team to achieve shared KPIs, contributing to the success of the region and the wider organisation.
- Safeguarding: Undertake training and ensure YE’s safeguarding policy is adhered to at all times.

This is a new role in our Participation Team to help us deliver work that amplifies the voices of people with lived experience to find solutions to homelessness and health inequalities. The post holder will lead a few projects and partnerships, with responsibility for planning and delivering activities and monitoring their progress.

Coordinating and supporting a group of six people with lived experience to co-design an immersive audio story and campaign to improve the health of people living in temporary accommodation in London.

Working with the City of London Corporation to embed meaningful co-production practices in their homelessness services; bringing people with experience of homelessness, frontline staff, and commissioners together to improve service design and delivery.
Your main task will be to coordinate groups of people with lived experience of homelessness and health inequalities, alongside Groundswell peers and colleagues, services, local authorities, funders and policymakers.

Volunteering Coordinator
Reporting to: Volunteer Recruitment Manager
Salary: £24,570 - £25,340 pro rata
Hours: Flexible between 30-37.5 hours per week

Purpose of the role:
Volunteers are the backbone of our operation at FSSW, we recruit over 350 volunteers from a myriad of backgrounds, who make up around 90% of our team. The volunteers help with every aspect of the operation from driving our vans, picking orders to administrative duties. They gift their time to FSSW for many reasons including wanting to be part of the solution to food waste, ensuring perfectly good in-date surplus reaches people in need, giving back to their local community or some are looking for professional and/or personal development.
We have built a volunteer programme which supports a wide demographic of people. This role will primarily lead on:
Rota and Data Management

Work with the Warehouse Managers and the wider FSSW team to ensure the roles advertised reflect the needs of the operation

Work with the Volunteer Recruitment Manager to ensure the rota is filled and monitor patterns, themes or fluctuations.

Attend any required meetings with the operations team around volunteer roles, rota, and retention.

Ensure the CRM system (Salesforce) is kept up to date

Maintain volunteer information and confidentiality, ensuring compliance with GDPR and safeguarding policies
Recruitment and Retention Support

Support the Volunteer recruitment manager in aspects of the recruitment process including responding to enquiries, inductions and developing the volunteer retention and recruitment plan.

Work with the wider FSSW team to support and develop volunteering opportunities for corporate supporters and food partners

Work with the Head of Department, volunteering team & employability teams to feed into volunteer and employability programmes

Analyse and monitor volunteer retention, noting positive reasons for moving on and be part of developing strategies to improve retention
Communications

Respond to/answer any enquiries/communications via telephone, email, in person or via inhouse IT/systems

upReach is recruiting for our unique Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP). This is a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about social mobility, and looking to gain exposure to various aspects of charity management whilst working with university students who are exploring their career options. We welcome applications from those in the corporate world who are looking for a career change as well as recent graduates wanting to kick-start their career in the third sector.
About the FCLP
upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP) is a graduate programme combining delivery work (supporting our Associates) with exposure to a range of aspects of charity management.
As a Programme Coordinator on the FCLP you will be delivering personalised employment-focused support to a cohort of approximately 80 Associates, helping transform their lives by equipping them with the necessary skills to secure a top graduate job. During a typical week, you should expect to be working across a range of projects including 1:1 undergraduate coaching, group workshops, webinars (we refer to them as Video Forums), partnership management (with university partners or employer partners) and more!
In addition to this, the programme offers the opportunity to develop skills in key areas of charity management by participating in 3 rounds of six-month 'rotations'. After your initial 18 months and the completion of 3 six-month rotations, you will have the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship in Leadership and Management to further develop your skills.
Throughout the programme, you will receive dedicated internal training developing your leadership skills and building your confidence in the role.
Through our partnership with The Circle Line, you will be part of a supportive peer group, offered regular personal development training workshops online and in-person on their '12 Tools for Life'. You will also be able to choose your own practitioner to support you with 1:1 sessions throughout the programme to help you unlock more of your unique potential.
What will I be doing?
The FCLP is a fast-paced but rewarding role. Programme Coordinators spend 80% of their time (4 days per week) working directly with associates to enhance their career knowledge and skills and 20% (1 day per week) on a charity management rotation (or an apprenticeship after 18-months). No two days are the same, but your responsibilities may include:
