London City Mission is recruiting a full-time Support Worker who will bring their passion and skills to support the work at:

• Webber Street Day Centre in Waterloo, where the Support Worker will be part of a team assisting with practical tasks, supporting guests and furthering the preaching of the gospel of Christ to the guests.
• Our homeless prevention project in London Bridge works with men who have recently been granted Leave to Remain but are at immediate risk of homelessness. We provide support and community in collaboration with churches within a supported housing environment for a six-month period while empowering our residents towards independent living.

This is an exciting opportunity to support our guests at Webber Street Day centre and at our homeless prevention project in London Bridge, working with them to identify their personal aims and ambitions and provide holistic support in a person-centered way. This role will enable you to show the love of Christ in a practical way, supporting marginalised and vulnerable people.

We estimate that one in two Londoners, that’s roughly 4.5 million people, are unlikely to hear the gospel in their lifetime. These are the people who are unlikely to have a Christian friend to invite them to church or introduce them to the hope they can find in Jesus Christ. Many of those who have never heard the gospel will be from diverse people groups and faith communities.

As Policy & Engagement Officer, you will work with the Hope for the Future team to:

• Act as constituents’ main point of contact at HFTF, working with them to effectively engage their elected representatives by supporting them through the constituent journey (including offering tailored advice, letter writing, meeting preparation and coaching, facilitation and follow-up as needed).

• Actively seek to engage with new constituents and support our work towards reaching and representing all sectors of society, especially those that are under represented currently. 

• Prepare and deliver HFTF’s constituent and partner-facing training and resources, contributing to its ongoing development and approach.

About the Role

Deliver an excellent catering service

• Working to TH EHO guidelines and SFBB, ensure food is prepared and work is carried out by us and to the standard of Tower Hamlets Food Standards including: risk assessment, food safety, equipment maintenance, cleaning, disposal of catering waste and liaising with Tower Hamlets Environmental Health where necessary.
• Maximise recycling of waste wherever possible.
• Responsible for the ordering and delivery of food and consumables.
• Work to agreed catering budget reporting monthly as required.
• Ensure food is prepared, presented and served to the highest possible standard.
• Manage staff involved in the provision of catering activities to ensure safe working practices.

• Liaise with the Employability Coordinator to provide an effective training to trainees involved in the lunch service.
• Provide clear, honest feedback to trainees about their conduct and performance, liaising with specialist workers around support needs.

Manage people and participants

• Work with the Volunteering Development Manager to induct, retain and manage the team of volunteers to support the production of food at Providence Row.

Position: Project Officer

Reporting to: Senior Project Manager

Purpose

The Project Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of project delivery activities across our portfolio, predominantly in Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East. 

The post holder will support projects, ensuring delivery meets quality expectations (internal and client), delivers to scope of project, within budgeted resources and in line with project timelines. The post holder will work closely with project managers, delivery partners, consultants and internal technical experts to ensure projects maximise their positive impact.

The Project Officer will also support the Senior Project Manager and Director of Project Delivery to disseminate good management practice across the organisation, and advise on delivery approaches.

Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Programme Officer include the following:

Project Support

· Provide support to Project Managers in the delivery of projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope and comply with client contract.

· Take on Project Management of assigned select projects within a determined budget/complexity threshold.

· Set-up and monitor project workplans, including change requests ensuring that approvals are formally recorded.

· Manage day-to-day relationships with delivery partners and internal team(s) and build solid understanding of delivery needs and timelines across projects.

· Monitor and support timely client and consultant billing and invoices attached to delivery.

· Support onboarding of consultants for new projects, including due diligence checks and contract preparation based on set templates.

· Ensure project management software and tools are accurate and kept up to date for allocated projects.

· Provide timely responses to client queries and alert Project Managers of any potential risks

· Lead duty of care and travel planning for staff and consultants, working alongside administrative officers

· Liaise closely with technical colleagues and Project Managers on project support needs.

 

Project Financial Management

· Monitor project budget performance, capturing variances & liaising with the Finance Team.

· Monitor consultants’ expenses/fees against contracts and client invoices against contracts.

· Make recommendations to ensure financial outcomes are met with respect to time, quality and cost, and provide early warning of project overspend

· Prepare internal project update reporting including finances and resourcing using required management tools. 

Organisational Support and Business Development

· Provide support in strengthening policies, procedures, and management tools for Development Pathways 

· Coordinate with wider project team to ensure technical capacity is well planned across Development Pathways’ portfolio of projects 

· Signpost colleagues to relevant project management tools and processes, when required 

· Support project closure processes as required, capturing and sharing lessons internally. 

· Provide ad hoc input to evolving organisational requirements as directed by the Director of Project Delivery. 

· Assist with identification and monitor business opportunities in donor markets, as requested

· Update SharePoint and ensure project data sheets are developed and up to date to facilitate BD tenders

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. Healthy Zones programme

Healthy Zones supports primary, secondary and special schools to create a food environment that puts young people's health centre stage. We are working with schools to develop food policies and to improve the food served in their breakfast and after school clubs. The programme uses a whole school approach through hands-on engagement with students, staff, kitchen teams, governors and parents.

Job Purpose

· To promote, develop and deliver the Healthy Zones programme across schools in Southwark and Lambeth

· Support with the expansion of the Healthy Zones programme across other regions in England

Key Tasks include:

•  Recruit schools to take part in Healthy Zones
• Complete food audits in schools looking across the whole school day (training provided)

Our 18-month project aims to inspire and engage girls and young women from Asia Pacific with STEM and strengthen the STEM capacity and confidence of adult volunteer Girl Guide and Girl Scout leaders in the region. Through our unique non-formal education methodology, we will give girls and adult volunteer leaders the opportunity to:

• Explore the barriers that impede girls' and women’s STEM engagement.

Overview of the role – Programmes Administrator:

LST is seeking a detailed-orientated and highly organised professional with a real willingness to support people for the role of Programmes Administrator

This is a crucial role where the postholder will join a small and friendly Registry team supporting Faculty and students across the organisation.

A fabulous opportunity to provide psychological assessment for pupils attending Together Trust education settings and external schools, this post offers the unique opportunity to join a newly established Psychology Service by working systematically in multi-disciplinary teams, promoting the emotional well-being, learning and skill development of children and young people.

Working collaboratively with teams in school environments you will provide highly specialist psychological consultation and direct assessment, followed by formulation and intervention where appropriate.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Work with the Trust Wide Clinical Psychologist, to contribute to the evaluation, monitoring and development of the service, contributing to research, auditing, and service evaluation.
• Support the development of the Trust’s Assistant Psychologists, and the development and facilitation of training placements for Education Psychologists in training.
• Provide, where necessary, highly specialist psychological reports, for key stakeholders and other practitioners within the wider professional network.

About you:

• Registered with the HCPC you will hold a doctorate in Educational Psychology.
• Be able to demonstrate significant post qualification experience supporting children and young people in education settings.
• Have significant experience of undertaking cognitive and psychological assessments, developing formulations and providing recommendations and support plans.
• Be able to deliver training to raise understanding and ability to support children and young people and raise quality of life.
• Be able to demonstrate significant experience in supporting/providing clinical supervision and ability for reflective practice.
