Based in Reading with hybrid flexible working arrangements available (within Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm). Occasional evening and weekend working is required.
Salary range: £28,722 - £35,103 per annum (Pro-rata rate for part time hours)
This role within our Business Development team will work closely with our Fundraising and Business Development Manager, and others across PACT, to achieve the fundraising targets associated with our business plan, objectives and values. You will play a significant role in generating income, building a robust pipeline of new and potential funding. You will compose and submit compelling funding proposals and applications that showcase the amazing work that PACT does for the families, children and vulnerable women we support.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful trusts and foundations fundraising, securing donations at a five and six figure level. An excellent communicator, confident in building effective working relationships with others and willing to share their knowledge, practice and approach collaboratively. You will hold exceptional research skills and keep proactively up to date with the external fundraising environment, identifying trends and creating innovative responses to maximise our fundraising opportunities.

Betknowmore UK is collaborating with partner organisations to work as part of a wider team, on the delivery of the Armed Forces Gambling Harms Support Network (AFGHSN); this important work includes provision of training and gambling awareness activities helping to raise and address the subject of harmful gambling. The aim of the programme is to engage and offer support to not only the armed forces directly but the external organisations who give focus to this community in their work.
This new role will assist the Armed Forces Peer Aid Co-ordinator deliver training and attend veteran outreach events throughout London. This is a new team within an existing team in BKM and is an exciting programme to work on. So far, the training has been very well received and we are keen to build on this momentum.
We are looking for one candidate with lived experience of gambling related harm and a proven track record in delivering support and training for vulnerable adults, such as the mental health or addiction sectors.
An aspect of the role will be to work closely with individuals presenting with lived experience of gambling harm issues and/or people affected by this issue and requires an empathetic and compassionate approach and an awareness of the complex issues being addressed. A robust management of safeguarding and safe working practices is essential.
A real team player with great communication skills, who can adapt to any circumstance and environment, meeting the needs of clients and contributing to the success of the programme.
We are especially keen to receive applications from an armed forces veteran or someone closely involved with the armed forces (a family member for example), with lived experience of gambling related harms.
This is a remote role, but you must be within one hour travelling time of London, as frequent UK travel is an essential part of this role.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Development and Delivery
- This role will share in the delivery of training, both face to face and digitally. The training can vary from small to large groups of people so confidence in communication is essential along with the willingness to share your Lived Experience through the training.
- This role will share in attending seminars, meetings, conferences and events representing BKM if invited.
- This role will involve outreach to the veteran community to discuss gambling and gambling related harm with veterans who actively use and need the services on offer to their community.
- Help to build up knowledge of BKM and our services within the Veteran Community within London.

- Work with the Armed Forces Peer Aid Co-ordinator to design, develop and deliver new materials to represent the AFGSN.

About the Role
Deliver an excellent catering service
- Working to TH EHO guidelines and SFBB, ensure food is prepared and work is carried out by us and to the standard of Tower Hamlets Food Standards including: risk assessment, food safety, equipment maintenance, cleaning, disposal of catering waste and liaising with Tower Hamlets Environmental Health where necessary.
- Maximise recycling of waste wherever possible.
- Responsible for the ordering and delivery of food and consumables.
- Work to agreed catering budget reporting monthly as required.
- Ensure food is prepared, presented and served to the highest possible standard.
- Manage staff involved in the provision of catering activities to ensure safe working practices.
- Work with the Head of Learning & Training to keep up to date with all regulations and good practice relating to catering and ensure this is implemented.
- Develop relationships, alongside fundraising, with local food retailers to increase in-kind donations and provide support reduce our annual food bill.
Deliver our multi award-winning Catering Trainee Scheme
- Prepare the kitchen, collect the ingredients and start the lunch service by coordinating and supervising a small group of trainees with varying support needs.
- Liaise with the Employability Coordinator to provide an effective training to trainees involved in the lunch service.
- Provide clear, honest feedback to trainees about their conduct and performance, liaising with specialist workers around support needs.
- Identify further specific training needs for trainees and support them to achieve their goals.
- Ensure there is a rota in place which provides a variety of tasks and experiences for trainees.
Manage people and participants
- Work with the Volunteering Development Manager to induct, retain and manage the team of volunteers to support the production of food at Providence Row.
- Manage the chef including recruitment, induction and ongoing support.
- Work with the Fundraising Team to engage groups of Corporate Volunteers in Corporate Challenges within the kitchen setting 2 times per week.
Participate in planning, monitoring and evaluation, and other responsibilities
- Participate in the charity’s planning processes to support the delivery of Providence Row’s 5 year strategy. This includes in particular all catering based activities in the charity.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of monitoring and evaluation processes for all cooking activities, complying with funding requirements.
Other Duties
- Attend evening and weekend meetings and functions as required.
- Ensure the implementation of the Charity's equal opportunities policy in all areas of work.

The digital landscape evolves rapidly and keeping abreast of changes is key for digital innovation at the DEC. We are seeking a Digital and Innovation Officer to support the Digital and Innovation Manager, in the varied areas of digital fundraising, performance and compliance, website development and innovation.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have proven experience in similar role, preferably in the charity sector. Key responsibilities include:

Website Maintenance: General management of the website’s CMS (Drupal), embedding SEO, dealing with website backlogs, maintaining a high quality of sprint planning with suppliers, support website UX reviews and produce performance reports.

Digital Fundraising: Assist the quick execution of paid social, search and display advertising during an appeal. Help to launch ads quickly, reviewing and optimising performance.

Innovation: Support with innovation sprints, workshops and new product development. Explore the opportunities of AI within the organisation, supporting the development and project management of new products.

Team Working and Collaboration: Excellent stakeholder awareness, providing proactive support

As Policy & Engagement Officer, you will work with the Hope for the Future team to:
- Act as constituents’ main point of contact at HFTF, working with them to effectively engage their elected representatives by supporting them through the constituent journey (including offering tailored advice, letter writing, meeting preparation and coaching, facilitation and follow-up as needed).

Actively seek to engage with new constituents and support our work towards reaching and representing all sectors of society, especially those that are under represented currently.

Prepare and deliver HFTF’s constituent and partner-facing training and resources, contributing to its ongoing development and approach.

With the support of the Director of Delivery, contribute to effective objective setting in order to deliver HFTF’s strategy, linking and contributing to Hope for the Future’s central strategies and wider work as required.

Ensure the CRM is up to date and support monitoring, evaluation and reporting in relation to the team’s work.

Kineara has a new vacancy for an experienced Asylum and Refugee Housing Support Worker to join our small and dedicated team in this new project supporting recent granted refugees to find accommodation.
Asylum and Refugee Housing Support Practitioner
Salary: £ 16 per hour
Contract and term: Self-employed 12 month contract, with a 3-month probation
Hours: 35 hours per week Mon – Friday
Location: Flexible, with time split between our office and partner organisations office in Southwark, local community and working from home
About the project
Set up by the Southwark Community Refugee Forum, alongside Southwark local community and charity organisations. Kineara provides a weekly drop-in surgery at the St Giles Center giving support and advice to refugees struggling to find PRS due to many barriers, including language. In 2023 the collaboration was formed to respond to the increasing need for housing support to asylum seekers with newly granted refugee status after the Home office made changes to the way they process asylum seekers.
After 9 months of delivery, we are excited to have secured funding to deliver this work fulltime alongside our PRS Renters Support Programme in Southwark. We will provide crucial crisis support to vulnerable renters and are looking for a passionate housing support worker to be part of the next phase of the project.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic support worker to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Housing Support Practitioner in our small and dedicated team. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with the Council’s housing officers and resettlement workers, refugee support organisations, community services. The role involves coordinate tailored support for each client to find and sustain tenancies, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing housing advice. The objective of this programme is to support access to PRS properties, provide information about housing market and polices, help set up sustainable tenancies, increase employment opportunities, improve wellbeing, and increase educational outcomes. You will be working in partnership with other stakeholders, such as council and refugee support professionals to improve family health, build relationships and engage families and individuals and their networks of support.
About you
You will have experience of working with individuals with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic person who is self-motivated, confident and thrives when working independently with a passion to support change. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience delivering holistic support, be a solution-minded thinker, have a good understanding of strength-based approaches and be able work sensitively and empathetically with people in vulnerable circumstances. You will also have experience working in a systemic and therapeutic way and ideally have trauma informed training or experience. It is also important to us that you have the competency to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds. To work as part of a team and independently, the roles require you to think creatively and use the resources around you effectively. A good understanding of one of the following languages is an advantage;
