Volunteer It Yourself (VIY), is a UK-wide not-for-profit organisation which combines youth skills/employment, volunteering and construction. We are seeking a new Programme Manager in the West Midlands for an initial 12-month contract. Focus for the role will be leading a regional team on programme delivery, stakeholder management, growing partnerships and identifying/developing new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
Project management and delivery

Work with colleagues and relevant partners to identify and scope a pipeline of strong, impactful projects which will contribute to the KPIs of multiple programmes, align to our strategic objectives and strengthen impact in the region

Develop appropriate project plans and budgets, with support from VIY’s Regional Lead Mentor team and Project Manager

Lead the initial set-up and delivery of individual VIY projects on-the-ground, including the engagement of venues and ensuring a strategic approach to the overall venue and youth outcomes of the project

Work with VIY’s Mentors and Project Management team to ensure a high standard of safety is maintained across these projects

Oversee and manage project/programme budgets

Business development and partnership working

Manage client/funders, reporting on progress and nurturing positive relationships

Identify new and develop existing national/regional relationships including with the third sector, youth sector, appropriate educational institutions (those who work with young people who are NEET/at risk of NEET), sport sector, construction industry, local authorities, trade sector organisations and other key stakeholders

Help generate income through new partnerships/funded contracts to support delivery of projects in the region

Establish strong relationships with key partners such as Travis Perkins, Dulux and Toolstation to enable sourcing of materials and tools for the projects, as well as opening up routes into volunteering opportunities

Support to identify, establish and grow relationships with new and existing youth partners to drive young people’s engagement and progressions, ensuring clear and accessible referral routes into VIY projects and beyond, post-project
Leadership/line-management

Line-manage and support the regional project team to deliver VIY projects, providing appropriate operational support as required and supporting with the escalation of any issues

Work closely with VIY’s Head of Programmes, to ensure the regional portfolio of projects are collectively on track to deliver the Programmes KPIs
Terms and conditions
Salary: £38,000-£42,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours: Full time. Hours are 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Occasional evening and weekends may be necessary
Leave: 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays), increasing 1 day per year of employment up to a maximum of 28 days
Contract: 12 month FTC, potential to become permanent

River Church Ipswich is an HTB Network church plant in the town centre of Ipswich, which launched in September 2021 and has already grown quickly into a thriving resource church, with a congregation of more than 200, and three Sunday services.
The Spear Centre Manager will work as part of the River Church staff team to oversee the delivery of Spear—an employability programme equipping and empowering unemployed 16-24 year-olds to overcome barriers to employment and their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

Website
- Responsibility for maintenance and development of Resurgo’s website, delivering engaging content with a focus on dynamic visuals and videos, tailored to our different website audiences.
- Optimise user journeys across all Resurgo’s digital channels.
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
- Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.
Oversight of Spear Programme Spear
Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.
- As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education
Line management and training
- Manage the Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
- Be line managed by River Church staff, locally, and by Resurgo, nationally, to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPI.
Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry
- You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help the Assistant coaches to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
- Ensuring the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church
- Work with the Head of Operations and Fundraising Assistant to prepare successful grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
- Attend and participate in Staff Meeting, Tuesday morning Prayer Meeting, and Sunday Services (serving on a team at one or more Sunday service) • Regularly pray for Spear, River Church, and in particular our Social Transformation work.
- Attending other River Church events and services, occasionally speaking and/or contributing as required • Ad hoc tasks and other project work.
Site management
- Liaise with relevant staff locally on site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.

Main purpose of post
This role will lead our individual giving campaigns ensuring key audiences see the impact of the charity and are motivated to donate to support the continuation of our work. It will build on existing successful campaigns, including our Christmas Star appeal, and create new and engaging additions. You will ensure the donor journey is sensitive, engaging and straightforward and place a high importance on the ongoing stewardship of donors.
You will report to the Head of Fundraising and work alongside our Fundraising Team to ensure plans align and budget targets are achieved. You will work closely with the Campaign Manager and Data Manager to target individual giving effectively across South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and North Derbyshire.
This is the perfect role for anyone who loves to plan and see those plans through to completion, who has excellent customer care skills and who is digitally savvy. You will enjoy working as part of a busy fundraising team and collaborating to achieve collective success.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and implement the individual giving donor journey to increase the charity’s individual gifts including regular and pay roll giving.
· Lead the creation of fundraising individual giving campaigns to recruit new donors, retain existing supporters and grow reach, engagement and income.
· Lead the development of new individual giving campaigns, working closely with the Campaign Manager, to deliver direct marketing campaigns across various channels, which enhance current supporters understanding of the difference their donation makes and also encourages new supporters to donate to our cause and projects.
· To create new individual giving income opportunities, including introducing a charity lottery.
· Review and evaluate campaigns against income and impact success factors and implement improvements.
· Maximise all gift aid opportunities within the agreed audiences.
· Be responsible for an income target of a minimum of £300,000 per annum.
· Manage relationships with existing supporters to ensure a high level of donor care is achieved whilst achieving and maximising income opportunities.
· Analyse and segment the charity's supporter base, developing appropriate supporter journeys and propositions, and the effective use of supporter data for campaign purposes.
· Utilise digital methods and platforms for new donor acquisition.
· To assist in the delivery of a range of donor, supporter and staff engagement events throughout the year in line with our donor recognition & stewardship plan.
· Contribute to development of the fundraising annual plan to drive forward the charity’s ambitious plans for change and growth in line with the 3 year strategy.
· Ensure that all activities and contacts are managed through the charity’s CRM (Raiser’s Edge).
· Ensure all fundraising activity complies with laws and best practice governing charitable activity, most notably General Data Protection Regulations, Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice and charity law.
· Attend and contribute to team meetings and 'away days' and be an active, invested member of our team.
· Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region to attend charity fundraising events.
· Able to work flexibly, including occasionally working in the evenings and at weekends.

Programme Overview
The Refugee Employability Programme is a new initiative that offers enhanced support to defined cohorts of legally recognised refugees in the UK. Started in July 2023, the programme will provide tailored support for each participant focussed on gaining sustainable employment. Palladium will work with employers, local government, and other partners to ensure that individuals are fully supported with their employment and integration in UK society. The programme includes delivery of employability-focussed English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) tuition for some of the cohorts.
Palladium is responsible for delivering the programme in the South East of England.
Primary Duties and responsibilities:
As Delivery Manager, you will lead a team of Case Managers to deliver the Home Office Refugee Employability Programme across the South East, ensuring that customers receive an excellent service which is compliant with all contractual requirements.
This role will require travel to delivery locations where Case Managers are based.
Your main responsibilities will include:
· Maintain the core contractual KPIs by analysing exception reports daily and ensure all contractual activities are conducted by the delivery team within the Service Level Agreements.
· Accurately forecast performance against targets monthly, and proactively ensure contract compliance by addressing any shortfalls in either performance, process or capacity (staffing levels).
· Providing coaching and performance management to direct reports. Ensuring that coaching and performance management are in place consistently for all direct reports and all team members are able to meet their targets.
· Ensure the team is always provided tailored support. This includes regular visits to the Case Managers within the community to support with best practices, diary management and observational feedback.
· Oversee tasks and processes; ensure that the necessary operational processes and governance are in place and working well. Collaborate with the Quality and Compliance team to address any areas for improvement.
· Take responsibility for the quality and effectiveness of the services delivered from your allocated office(s) and source outreach venues for delivery of the service, This will include local agreements with organisations, referral partners and Job Centre Plus as applicable.
· Maintain high standards of integrity and conduct on the programme, with a particular focus on embedding safeguarding best practice across the team.
· Undertake recruitment when agreed with line manager and plan resources effectively to ensure the geographical spread of Case Managers meets the needs of service users.
· Collaborate with colleagues, suppliers and partners, building strong and effective working relationships to deliver excellent performance. This includes supporting the processes for co-location of services, accessing Adult Education Budget -funded training for service users, collaborating with local third sector organisations and engaging with employers.
Skills and experience:
Required
· Experience in a responsible management position in a comparable sector in the UK, ideally with remote or geographically dispersed teams
· Experience in running an operation to deliver stretching contractual performance targets or Service Level Agreements
· Proven skills in delivering high levels of performance through a team of Case Managers
· Strong influencing and engagement skills, with experience of building lasting and effective working relationships with a wide variety of external stakeholders
· A proactive approach to problem solving and high level of independence and professionalism to take the lead when needed
Desirable
· Leadership of a team in the field of employability, integration, refugee support or ESOL
· Exposure to the challenges experienced by refugees or asylum seekers, or personal lived experience

Location and compensation
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you would spend a minimum of three days a week in one of the Palladium offices and / or with the team on location for this contract.
You will be required to travel to manage colleagues responsible for meeting and supporting customers. Your base office will be in Southampton, and travel costs for larger distances to other locations will be reimbursed by Palladium.
Compensation: You will receive a salary in the range 30-35,000 GBP per annum, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including private health insurance and up to 10% employer pension contributions.

About APPEER
Appeer is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to deliver services that support autistic girls and women (and those assigned female at birth) to connect with peers, to develop their life/work skills and to support their wellbeing. Over the past 5 years our founder and current CEO has taken the vision of creating a community where autistic girls and women can connect from a small, passionate team into a robust and impactful organisation.
We provide In Person and Online Activity groups and programmes, Alternative Provision, events and resources for those in the community that we serve, their parents/carers and other professionals. We are not a therapeutic setting and as such do not offer clinical support or 1:1 supervision.
We were established in 2019 and have since grown rapidly from a small startup to a robust small-medium enterprise with a turnover of £250k and serving over 400 beneficiaries a year.

Over the past 15 years Water Witness has carved out a key role in holding governments, business, and investors to account for sustainable water management. In 2021 this work triggered the Glasgow Declaration for Fair Water Footprints - a breakthrough moment at COP26, when twenty-eight founding Signatories committed to end the abuse of water in our supply chains and establish water stewardship as the global business norm by 2030. With our partners we have secured significant funds to take forward and scale up this groundbreaking work which will harness trade, enterprise, and civic engagement to drive water justice and climate resilience as part of the UK’s Just Transition for Water Security.
The Programme Manager will be accountable for coordinating and delivering our contributions to the Fair Water Footprint Programme. These will include: the production and dissemination of influential water footprint assessments; pioneering new research and on-the-ground investigations; participatory planning, technical support and training with diverse partners; development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of action plans, advocacy and communication campaigns to secure improved water security for millions of people and systemic change at a sectoral and global scale.

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation management geoengineering (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for over a decade and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.
We seek a Communications Manager to work closely with the Degrees team, the researchers we support in the Global South, and our stakeholders around the world to further raise our profile - initially focusing on the specialist SRM expert community but over time expanding to the broader climate science and policy arena.
