ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic volunteer manager with the skills, confidence and ability to build, maintain and report upon a diverse and committed volunteer cohort to deliver our home and online reading sessions. You will be a passionate advocate for children’s literacy and a creative thinker, able to spot and develop opportunities for engagement in local communities and with corporate partners.
An excellent communicator verbally and in writing, you will be able to tell the Doorstep Library story to a wide variety of audiences and promote the benefits of volunteering with us. You will build upon existing work to create and deliver a volunteer recruitment strategy that meets our requirements and enables us to deliver our targets and grow our services.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
STRATEGIC
· Work under the guidance of the Head of Delivery & Engagement to design, implement and be responsible for the Volunteering Strategy - to recruit, train and retain enough volunteers to meet our delivery targets and grow our services
· Collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager and the Marketing & Communications Manager to identify delivery gaps across boroughs and create targeted recruitment campaigns
· Work with the Fundraising team to develop and manage corporate volunteering from/with income partnerships
· Research and reach out to community events/groups to raise awareness about Doorstep Library in the areas we operate in
· Manage the Volunteer Committee – coordinating and enlisting volunteer involvement as required, delivering outcomes
· Have overall responsibility for the evaluation and development of training and guidance resources for volunteers
· Diversify the volunteer offer and establish/develop supporting partnerships with schools and corporates
· Provide quarterly volunteering reports for SMT, the CEO and the Board of Trustees
· Keep abreast of current developments in the volunteering sector, ensuring our volunteering offer is up to date
· Lead on the development and systematic review of volunteer related policies, processes and procedures.
· Where requested by the Senior Management Team, contribute to the review of wider Doorstep Library policies, processes and procedures.
· Adhere to Doorstep Library policies, processes and procedures in all aspects of volunteer management
DELIVERY
(with the support of the Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteer Support Officer)
· Manage the successful and timely completion of the volunteer onboarding process, including- interviews, DBS checks, references and liaising effectively with the delivery team on volunteer trials and appropriate placement across our projects
· Create, deliver and systematically review volunteer training (initial and refresher) ensuring content is up to date and all volunteers are fully trained in delivery and safeguarding in line with Doorstep Library’s policies
· Develop and manage the stewardship of volunteers on an ongoing basis and retain comprehensive oversight of all volunteers throughout their volunteering journey
· Curate, with the Marketing & Communications Manager, regular content and communications about our volunteering offer (i.e. case studies, blogs, newsletters etc.)
· Oversee the functionality of the relevant parts of the Volunteer Database (managed by an external company) suggesting improvements/developments where necessary
· Ensure the database is kept up to date with required information about all volunteers
· Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to ensure our website volunteering pages and ‘Volunteers’ Area’ are up to date with relevant content
· Collaborate effectively with the Service Delivery Manager to ensure project volunteering needs are met
· Ensure effective communication with the Service Delivery Team on volunteer issues
HR AND LINE MANAGEMENT
· Direct Line Management responsibility for the Volunteer Coordinator (full time) and matrix managed responsibility of an existing member of staff (Volunteer Support Officer) working one day a week with the volunteer team

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· To project manage all our training and services with effective and clear planning, delivery, evaluation and reporting
· Manage contract development, communications, budget planning, timelines and reporting to clients and SMT

· Negotiate and influence showing diplomacy, whilst maintaining a firm stance that projects are delivered within our resources and in time

· To analyse training evaluation data to identify any risks (such as courses not being filled)
· Make recommendations for efficiencies and improve the client experience from initial contact to feedback

We are seeking a London Church Engagement Manager to lead on developing gospel partnerships with churches in London. As London Church Engagement Manager you’ll collaborate closely with the ministries and training departments, engaging in inspiring conversations with churches about the financial aspects of church partnerships. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- At least three years’ fundraising experience
- A track record of successfully engaging with, and fundraising from, churches

Key Activity Areas
External Engagement & Relationship Building

With the support of the Engagement Support Officer co-ordinate all requests for speakers in churches ensuring that a staff member or alumni, is available and well briefed ahead of time.

Oversee the management the Medair UK alumni network – developing events, online and in-person, personal touchpoints and communications that will encourage this warm audience to keep enthused about Medair and growing our awareness in there networks.
Church Management

Manage the related tasks of the Engagement Support Officer whose role is split with 60% on Trusts and Foundations, and 40% on Churches and Alumni. This is matrix-management as the Engagement Support Officer is line managed by the Grants Manager.

Oversee the receipting and acknowledgement of all financial support from churches, using creative ways to thank and steward churches and supporters who generously donate.

Maintain an up-to-date and accurate record of church relationships on our CRM (salesforce), monitoring engagement events, income targets, key contacts and audience growth.
Internal Liaison

Liaise with Medair’s Heads of Country Programmes, Country Directors and Communications Officers in order to gather information and data for the purposes of applying and reporting to funders.

Membership Engagement Manager

The Membership Engagement Manager is a crucial role for the College as you will champion the value of RCPCH membership, enhancing the member value proposition and take the lead on improving the College's engagement with its members.
As Membership Engagement Manager, you will collaborate with teams and members throughout the College to deliver the operational plan, analysing member data, survey outputs and the external environment to identify trends and gain insights and intelligence which inform the value proposition.
Reporting to the Head of Membership and collaborating across all teams to identify and map opportunities to recruit and retain members, you will lead on all membership website content, marketing literature and communications related to Membership to improve the onboarding process, renewal cycle and awareness of what the College does for members.
In addition, you will establish and deliver a programme of events for senior members and Fellows, whilst ensuring the RCPCH stands engage members effectively at the RCPCH annual conference.
Educated to a good standard, you should have experience of working for a membership organisation and have a strong track record in project management.
With proven experience in developing initiatives that drive membership engagement, you should have excellent copywriting skills along with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, being able to demonstrate the ability to influence, collaborate and present to senior stakeholders.
A management or project management qualification along with experience of conducting market research and developing membership value propositions would be desirable.
The Membership Services Team, part of the Membership, Policy & External Affairs Division, plays a vital role in the College. The team reports to the Head of Membership and supports over 24,000 members worldwide while managing a budget of £7 million. Their key responsibilities include developing the member value proposition, ensuring the smooth operation of membership services, and enhancing member engagement.
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. About the role

The Job
Reporting to the Church Engagement Manager, this role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising team. This role will raise the profile and fundraising potential of USPG whilst creating a deeper understanding of its work across the Anglican Communion within the UK as a major organisational priority.
