Key Responsibilities

Take responsibility for the operational management of HSSW ensuring that the staff and financial resources are deployed effectively in line with budgets and funding requirements

Undertake the Strategic Lead role on ensuring the safeguarding and promotion of children’s welfare within the charity

Report to and support the Board of Trustees in ensuring the effective strategic management, development and future funding of the charity.

Ensure accurate records are maintained and readily accessible, enabling high standards of reporting and GDPR compliance

Ensure that HR practice meets current statutory requirements

Ensure that HSSW employees maintain high standards of practice in supporting families within the Home-Start model and that they adhere to HSSW policies and best practice

Work with the team to develop a culture of continuous improvement through effective feedback mechanisms; engaging with stakeholders to identify future needs and implement improvements.

Ensure all Home-Start policies, processes and procedures are implemented consistently and reviewed regularly, so that HSSW is viewed as a role model for best practice.

Ensure that HSSW meets or exceeds the Home-Start Quality Assurance standards and that any QA reviews mandated by HSUK are carried out in a timely manner.

Attend and present at all Board meetings, and other out of hours activities.

SEL Mind is working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver integrated support within the Trust’s Community Mental Health Teams. The integrated Care Team Approach (CTA) team provide support to people with long-term mental health problems (principally bipolar and psychosis), helping people develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.
As a Senior Mental Health Advisor, you will be based within the existing Intensive Case Management in Psychosis (West) team at Beckenham Beacon. As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will work alongside clinical staff to deliver focused, person-centred, individual support, information and guidance on a wide range of social issues including housing, employment, and social integration. You will also hold line management responsibility for a Mental Health Advisor within the service.

About the Accelerating Reform Fund
The Accelerating Reform Fund is a new initiative which aims to transform social care services, making them more responsive to the needs of the community. It is a national programme, with 42 regions allocated to have their own projects. Greater Manchester is one of the ARF regions. In this role, you will be part of a specialist team working with women who have complex needs, including mental health challenges, substance misuse, offending behaviour, and physical health issues. You’ll use a gender-informed approach, ensuring that women feel safe, supported, and empowered. This role will give you the opportunity to provide personalised support, helping clients develop independent living skills, build social networks, and access external services.
Your day-to-day work will involve conducting needs and risk assessments, creating support plans, and facilitating group work and structured interventions as part of our in-house recovery programme. You’ll work closely with external agencies to ensure that clients receive the holistic support they need, with a focus on both harm minimisation and recovery.

About the roles in our multiple disadvantage service in Westminster:
King George’s is a 68 bed hostel for men with complex needs and a history of rough sleeping. It is part of Westminster City Council’s Rough Sleepers Pathway. Many of our clients are deemed high risk/high support due to chronic mental health and physical health issues, high levels of substance misuse, and offending histories. We accept that our clients have experienced complex trauma, usually from a very early age and often throughout their lives including currently. For this reason, we work to imbed the Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) approach in a service.
Reporting to the Manager, your role will require you to develop, support and motivate the people who we support and accommodate.We run a service that is creative, responsive and that provides a foundation which empowers people to achieve their aspirations and make positive and sustainable life changes. Well House is a crisis house supported accommodation service that supports individuals for between 14 and 28 days as an alternative to requiring hospital admission for their mental health needs. The service works closely in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team in order to meet individual needs, manage risk and support individuals to achieve positive outcomes. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure members of the local community are able to access critical mental health support at all hours. The service receives referrals primarily from a local hospital emergency department and crisis lines, and may receive these referrals at anytime of day or night.
This role involves shift working including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

IPS Grow is a national programme designed to support the expansion of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services in mental health and drug & alcohol teams across England. It is funded by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). A core element of the programme is the expert assistance provided by a team of IPS experts, known as IPS Grow Leads, to support providers to improve their fidelity to the IPS model and achieve better employment outcomes for their clients. The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to expand the IPS Grow team, aimed at helping health systems deliver high quality evidence-based employment practice. Melbourne View is a 24-hour supported living service with 12 self-contained flats. We support individuals to gain or regain skills and confidence to achieve greater independence. Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the particular post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support. This role must have an excellent value base to support the customer to build their life and develop their skills and passions as an independent person.
A full driving licence is required for this position.

What you'll do:
Supporting the customer to lead a full and active life and do things they enjoy, sensitively and persistently trying to new things to open new opportunities for the customer.
Developing the customer's independent living skills and involving them in aspects of maintaining and developing their home, including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and decorating.
Supporting the customer in their sensory routine, trialling and testing new sensory experiences.
Supporting the customer to communicate their wants and needs and develop new ways of doing this, communicating with them in a person-centred way.
Supporting the customer to manage their anxieties, using Positive Behaviour Support and Autism-specific approaches.
Collating a range of behavioural data and essential paperwork to be analysed within our local management structure.
Driving the customer's (manual) vehicle to support them to go about their daily life.
Supporting the customer with personal care.

What you'll bring:
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of experience working with customers with Autism/Challenging Behaviour/learning disabilities
Driving licence and a willingness to drive as part of support duties
Experience of engaging vulnerable people with complex needs in meaningful activities.
