About the role
We’re entering an ambitious new phase of growth. This expansion will enable us to deliver our vision – that by 2050, everyone with breast cancer will live and be supported to live well.
This growth phase means we are seeking to make new connections and attract new donors who can make transformative gifts. Gaining new business will be critical.
As our philanthropy manager, you’ll be integral to supporting income growth within our major gifts fundraising programme. This is a great opportunity if you are a talented major gift fundraiser who has comprehensive experience of successfully soliciting donations from high-net-worth individuals.
This is an externally focussed, relationship management role, concentrating on securing and maintaining long term relationships with high-net-worth donors. This will include identifying new opportunities to raise funds from prospective donors who could make significant financial commitments. You’ll then be responsible for engaging, cultivating, and stewarding these relationships.
The role will support a philosophy of proactive relationship building through cultivation and stewardship communications and activities. This will entail maintaining and maximising exiting donor relationships as well as attracting new business from a growing pool of new major supporters. You’ll ensure prospective donors are engaged with appropriate propositions, particularly from our extensive medical research portfolio.
This role will involve working closely with the head of philanthropy and associate director, philanthropy and special events. Developing good working relationships with the prospect researcher, research communications colleagues and other key internal stakeholders will also be vital.

About you
We’re looking for a highly self-motivated, innovative relationship manager who has well-developed understanding and knowledge of philanthropy. A natural and confident networker, you’ll be an exceptional communicator who thrives on making new business connections and building relationships with first time major donors. You’ll have demonstrable experience of soliciting at least 5 figure gifts from high-net-worth individuals and maintaining those relationships for repeat gifts. You’ll have a track record of meeting challenging income targets as well as experience of being part of high value asks alongside senior colleagues and/or senior volunteers

The Role
As our Individual Giving Officer, you will help to develop and implement the charity’s individual giving strategy.
Supporting the Individual Giving Manager, you will be the main point of contact and manage the day-to-day relationships with external face-to-face fundraising partners, who represent Yorkshire Cancer Research at private sites (e.g. supermarkets) and by going door-to-door to raise awareness of the work of the charity and encourage individuals to make regular gifts. You will be involved in all aspects of building and maintaining fundraising partner relationships.
Specifically, you will:
Support the charity’s face-to-face fundraising activities:

Work with the Marketing Team and face-to-face partners to build a range of marketing propositions that create memorable conversations and increase the likelihood of individuals deciding to sign up to give a regular donation.

Co-ordinate and facilitate training and engagement activity for new and current face-to-face fundraisers to keep them informed of and inspired by the latest developments at the charity.

Ensure face-to-face fundraisers have appropriate collateral and that all equipment and materials are kept up to date and are engaging for potential supporters.

Ensure face-to-face fundraisers represent Yorkshire Cancer Research in a way that aligns with the charity’s brand values and key messages.
Create campaigns, supporter journeys and develop onward stewardship:

With the support of the Individual Giving Manager, lead individual giving fundraising campaigns and help to develop new campaign propositions that will attract and retain supporters.

Work with the Individual Giving Manager and Supporter Engagement Team to develop and implement supporter journeys from beginning to end for newly acquired regular donors and other key supporter groups, aiming to increase levels of affinity with the charity and encourage life-time commitment.

In conjunction with the Supporter Engagement Team, regularly review fulfilment communications to all our individual giving supporters, ensuring they are compelling, accurate and fit for purpose.
Be responsible for data management and reporting:

Analyse campaigns and activity, including monthly reviews of key performance indicators, to provide insights and inform future decisions.

Use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to maintain accurate records, for data segmentation and for income and other KPI reporting purposes to ensure the effective management of all individual giving activities.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:

To have a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or proven experience working in a similar role at a similar level.

To have experience of individual giving and/or new donor acquisition within the charity sector or similar customer service experience in another sector.

To have experience of campaign management including creating schedules, data management, creating briefing documents, budget management, analysing and reporting on results.

To have experience of having used insight to inform decision-making.

To have experience of working with databases and CRM platforms (e.g. Access or Raiser’s Edge).

To have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships.

About the role
Travalyst is recruiting its first full-time COO. About you
You will be able to demonstrate a track record in successful organisational design and implementation, including the development of effective but adaptable systems and processes and their roll-out across a complex organisation with multiple partners and stakeholders. You will manage and lead on finance, governance and risk, ensuring that Travalyst is run according to the highest standards for a UK not-for-profit organisation.
Proven scale-up operational experience, in a sustainability-focused organisation and/or a UK not-for-profit, is essential. Strong project management skills, enabling effective prioritisation and decision-making and excellence in delivery, would be of huge benefit in the role.
Areas of responsibility:
Governance, Legal & Risk
· Be accountable for governance structures and processes, including reviewing and revising governance documentation annually
· Ensure compliance with UK statutory and legal obligations
· Support the Travalyst Board and CEO to ensure effective risk management and mitigation
· Support CEO with preparation of Board packs and attend Board meetings as an Observer
· Act as Company Secretary
· Provide oversight of legal discussions and documentation, working with pro-bono legal team where needed
Financial Management
· Oversight of financial management and administration, including near and longer-term financial planning, modelling, and cash flow management
· Manage outsourced Finance Director, bookkeeper accountants and auditors for budgeting, statutory accounting, audit, payroll, and tax - and evolve the Finance function as the organisation scales
· Support the CEO on funder management, leading on financial and operational aspects of fundraising, including leading grant application processes, budgeting and grant reporting
HR and Organisational Design
· Oversight of HR management and administration, including resource planning and recruitment
· Managed outsourced HR and recruitment consultants on professional development, culture & engagement, employee lifecycle management and recruitment initiatives
· Evolve HR function as the organisation grows
· Oversee workforce planning and recruitment for new hires supported by outsourced HR
· Ensure compliance of all existing legal/ contractual agreements with employees, consultants and suppliers
Operations and Strategy
· Support the CEO on the development of Travalyst’s annual strategic planning and lead on the accompanying operational plan
· Support the CEO in managing Travalyst Coalition Partners, including acting as the relationship lead where required
· Lead on Travalyst’s procurement process and manage key supplier relationships including all contracts, policies, and procedures
· Support the team to evolve Travalyst’s operating model, develop and manage systems and processes to ensure successful delivery of ongoing workstreams and new projects or initiatives
Resourcing & Project Management
· Lead on development and implementation of project management and delivery processes, ensuring excellence in delivery across project teams
· Lead weekly touchpoints to prioritise resources and workload, and track progress against milestones

IT
· Lead the roll-out of new internal technology to support effective delivery

Job Title: Patient Support & Advocacy Officer (2 vacancies)
Location: Home based with travel to renal units around Greater London
Hours: Full time opportunity 35 hours pw Monday to Friday | Part time opportunity 25 hours pw Monday to Friday

Role purpose
To engage with kidney patients, their families, and carers as a source of information, support, and advocacy, in order to improve care and wellbeing outcomes for patients. This may be in the hospital or other care setting, on the phone, online or face-to-face in a mutually acceptable public place. The role will cover the main renal unit and satellite dialysis units across your designated area, and regular travel and attendance is expected across all sites.
You will be expected to deliver Kidney Care UK’s Patient Support & Advocacy Service across the region, raise awareness of the service and the charity and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals and other kidney stakeholder groups in the region.
Responsibilities
- With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Service in the region so patients, their families, carers and professionals to access independent support on social, financial, health advocacy and wellbeing
- Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Patient Support & Advocacy Service across the region and the effective management of a caseload. This involves regular attendance at renal clinics in the region, building relationships with health and care professionals and being available for patients in the renal unit, on the phone or online, or to meet at a mutually convenient public location
- To support patients to build the skills and confidence needed to positively navigate the challenges presented by health, social care, benefits, and financial support pathways, and to overcome barriers and promote independence
- To support patients to connect with services to ensure that they are engaged in shared decision making and that their voice is central to shaping the care and support they receive
- To raise awareness of Kidney Care UK and the benefits of the Patient Support & Advocacy Service amongst kidney patients, their families, carers, and professionals across the region

About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Grants Officer to join our dynamic organisation. During this maternity cover, Grants Officer will report directly to the Director of Grants, Contracts and Compliance. They will work across all of Internews’ geographies to provide the highest standard of grant management support to partners receiving higher value grants from us. The incumbent will have a unique opportunity to learn about Internews’ work and to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of our missions across the World.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grant Management and Compliance
· Provide grant management support to Programme Management Units, country offices and partners. Participate in regional portfolio reviews.
· Support start‐ups of partner projects by coordinating project stakeholders and ensuring that all relevant processes and procedures are in place.
· Develop guidance documents and procedures to enable effective and compliant operation of partner projects. Supports project teams in adapting Internews’ standard sub-granting policies, procedures and toolkits to country contexts.
· Review and sign off on alldue‐diligence assessments in preparation for sub‐granting to partners.
· When requested, support project teams and the Business Officers, in monthly spend and burn rate reviews and donor report submissions
· Monitor the compliance from HQ to satisfy organisational and donorrequirements.
· Monitor the implementation of partner projects to ensure the implementation process is in line with grant agreements; and proposes solutions to implementation issues. Quality‐assure partner reporting, and track co-financing liabilities.
· Provide end-to-end management of partnership agreements, including drafting.
· Participate in project close-outs. Contribute to audit; support the audit manager on queries about sub-grants.
· Maintain records on the organisational grant management system.
Partnerships and Development
· Design and implement grant management and compliance trainings for partners and Internews staff.
· Identify and document best grant management practices from individual grants, works with M&E colleagues to coordinate debriefings with stakeholders.
· Advise development colleagues on key considerations relating to donor and statutory compliance requirements as related to sub-grants.
· Contribute to the development of partner budget proposals to ensure their appropriateness and compliance.
· Transfer grant-management expertise to country offices
· Support country office leadership teams to identify requirements and recruit grant management staff;
· Deliver trainings for key grant management staff in country offices and PMUs.
Expert advice
· Manage and develop the grants expertise at GC&C team ensuring the highest standards of grant management support to PMUs, country offices and regional and multi-country portfolios as required.
· Provide ongoing feedback to the Director of GC&C on required improvement and updates on donor regulations and contractual obligations to ensure organisational knowledge is built and improved continuously, with particular focus on the consistence and continuous improvement of sub-granting processes.
· Ensure good knowledge management across grants, including key project documentation, to enable all teams supporting the grant to access information and provide a fully auditable trail.
· Contribute to annual work planning and budgeting process.
Essential Skills and experience:
· Demonstrated experience in the context of international non-for-profit.
· Strong experience in the development and implementation of grant management processes and procedures.
· Deep understanding of rules of major European donors, including the European Commission, SIDA, and FCDO.
· Proven track record in conducting due diligence on organisations and their policies, ensuring compliance and alignment with standards.
· Proven track record in grant management training and mentorship for grantees.
· Comprehensive understanding of the setup, governance, and business models of non-for-profit organisations and media
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, enabling clear and effective interaction with stakeholders.
· Proficiency in interpreting budgets and accounts, facilitating informed decision-making.
· High IT literacy, including proficiency in grant management systems (preferably U4B), Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative, with the ability to work autonomously.
· Effective organisational skills, including prioritisation, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tasks and adherence to deadlines.

POSITION SUMMARY:

There are 1.4 million primary-aged children growing up in poverty in the UK, and we are currently only working with a fraction of them. We have grown rapidly over the last few years and are now looking to grow our Fundraising team to the next level.
The Fundraising and Communications Officer will work as part of the Fundraising team to deliver Learning with Parents’ fundraising strategy. Their primary focus will be strengthening our existing funding pipeline through prospects research and managing the donor database. They will also be responsible for drafting compelling applications and reports for new and existing donors. They will develop and adapt our fundraising resources and provide wider support to the team.
The Fundraising and Communications Officer will also be responsible for managing Learning with Parents external communications, including creating and posting engaging blogs and social media posts, drafting the Annual Impact Report and managing the organisation’s brand guidelines.
Lastly, the Fundraising and Communications Officer will provide logistical support for the Parental Engagement Forum.
Core Areas of Responsibility:
Fundraising support

Research prospects who are a good fit for our work including corporate funders, trusts and foundations, High Net Worth Individuals and Sector Awards

Working with our Fundraising Manager, build our funder pipeline in order to support accurate forecasting for the organisation
-
Working with our Fundraising Manager, craft well-written project proposals and briefings to inspire and engage funders including corporate funders, individuals and Trusts and Foundations

Cultivate and steward existing and new donors, helping to secure ongoing support and identify potential uplifts
-
Build relationships across the Learning with Parents team to source and manage information about our work, keeping up to date with progress and impact

Manage Learning with Parents’ reporting schedule, feeding into our draft reports as required

Draft and spend out engaging and impactful quarterly funder newsletters

General support across different areas of fundraising, including but not limited to: working with the wider team to draft cases for support for new projects; keeping existing fundraising resources up to date and developing new ones as required; keeping our databases up to date; and supporting with event planning.
External communications

Manage the charity’s social media accounts, working across the Learning with Parents teams to ensure regular and engaging content

Make updates to the charity WordPress site

Write regular blogs on a range of topics connected to our work

Format and publish the blogs on the WordPress site

Manage our annual impact report including planning the content, coordinating with other members of the team and liaising with the graphic designer

Manage brand guidelines, keeping them up to date with any changes to our sales & marketing strategy

Ad hoc support creating sales & marketing materials.
Coordinate the Parental Engagement Forum

Send out meeting updates, reminders and follow ups

Set up the quarterly meetings and assist the chair and speakers with logistics

Support speakers with slide templates and any other information required

Manage the participant list, adding and removing members as required and ensuring the links are shared at each meeting.
About you
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience across fundraising, communications and project management at a fast-paced education-tech charity. A successful Fundraising and Communications Officer will be eager to work in a small team, enjoy creative writing, have a can-do attitude, and be keen to get stuck in to support the charity’s growth and impact.

The Philanthropy and Trusts team sits within the Philanthropy, Philanthropy & Commercial (PP&C) team. Our aim is to engage and cultivate new supporters who can make a significant difference to Battersea, while also managing relationships with existing partners.
We are looking for a Philanthropy and Trusts Officer to join us. They will contribute ambitious yearly income targets across the team by managing a mid-level individual giving programme and a small trust mailing programme, managing financial data and reporting as well as supporting the Philanthropy and Trusts teams in in their wider fundraising efforts.
