About The Access Project
The Access Project is an education charity; we believe that every young person can make the most of education, unlocking their potential and creating a fairer society.
We support over 1,800 young people aged 14 to 18 across 40 schools. Our mission is to support students from under-resourced backgrounds to access top universities, through a unique combination of tuition and in-school mentoring. We work with them to make good applications, get the grades and transition to university.
We employ 70 people who work in locations in London, the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North West. We will turn over approximately £3.7 million in this financial year and our funding comes from a range of sources including: schools, businesses, major donors and grant-making trusts.
The programme combats educational inequality and improves social mobility by raising students’ grades and supporting them to understand the pathway to a top university. Students who receive support from our programme are almost twice as likely to attend top universities as statistically similar students, according to UCAS.

Why we need you
We are looking for an ambitious, experienced Head of Corporate Partnerships with a track record of winning, retaining, and developing high value partnerships.
The Access Project has established partnerships with leading companies who are committed to social mobility, equality, diversity and inclusion, and want to provide real impact for young people. We have a fantastic volunteer tutor programme at the heart of The Access Project which provides engagement opportunities for employees of corporate partners. We have identified corporate funding as one of our largest growth areas. This role will take a lead in developing and driving forward our business partnerships strategy.
The successful candidate will be passionate about levelling the playing field for disadvantaged young people in education. You will be an exceptional relationship builder and communicator, able to motivate companies to support our mission. You will be an experienced manager of people with the ability to build a supportive, creative and inspiring environment for the corporate partnerships function. You will contribute positively to the culture at The Access Project and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to achieve our strategic goals.
What you’ll be responsible for
Leadership and management
- Working closely with the Fundraising and Communications Director to develop a corporate partnerships plan that focuses on the acquisition of corporate partnerships and excellent account management of existing partnerships, resulting in renewals and uplift in value.
- Leading, supporting and inspiring a team of two (Corporate Partnerships Manager and Fundraising Co-ordinator) to deliver the corporate partnerships strategy and individual giving strategy.
- Developing objectives and targets for the corporate partnerships team and ensuring accurate and timely reporting against these.
- Ensuring effective team use of Salesforce for relationship management, data management and providing information for financial reporting and audit purposes.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and adherence to latest legislation, especially Fundraising legislation relating to corporate fundraising and best practice guidelines issued by the Fundraising Regulator, and GDPR.
New business development
- Periodically refreshing our corporate offer with creative ideas, proposals and content to inspire decision makers.
- Winning new business for The Access Project at the 5 and 6 figure level with support from the Director of Fundraising and Communications and the CEO/Executive team and Board.
- Managing the preparation and submission of major corporate partnership bids and coordinating internal teams to contribute effectively.
- Leading research and development to identify new fundraising opportunities.
- Ensuring high quality and inspiring communications and materials are produced in accordance with brand guidelines.
Account management and stewardship
- Delivering successful partnerships in your portfolio through excellent account management to maximise fundraising and volunteering potential and retain partners.
- Ensuring corporate partnerships are celebrated through working with Communications colleagues.
- Working collaboratively with the wider Fundraising Team, Volunteer Team, Programmes Team and other functions to deliver a fantastic partner experience and ensure an integrated and joined up approach.
Skills, knowledge and attitudes we’re looking for
- An impressive track-record in corporate fundraising. We will also consider exceptional candidates who have excelled in another field of fundraising, partnership management or sales or with a corporate background.

About the role
A key aim for this role is to help the charity to reduce its legal, contracts and compliance risk profile and to respond proactively to changes in the legal, regulatory, donor and compliance context. The Legal Counsel reports to the Chief Finance and Operations Officer, works closely with the Chief Executive and other SLT members and supervises the Legal, Contracts and Compliance Advisors and the Paralegal and Procurement Officer.
Key responsibilities include:
· Oversight and management of key legal risks applicable to ODI including but not limited to, insurance, intellectual property, trademark registration, government legislation (including IR35) defamation, subscriptions, tenancy and lease agreements and other relevant agreements.
· Advise and manage contract disputes and audit challenges and assist ODI in mitigating legal risks not only in contracts but compliance and operational processes where required
· Provide advice and support to the research teams throughout the contract process, starting with tendering and negotiating through to the eventual contract award and implementation phase. This support will include review, drafting and negotiation of contract terms.
· Simplify and streamline the contract process; developing guidance, templates and training for teams involved in contracting and promoting sound contract management across the global entities.
· Support the programmes with assessment of donor procurement requirements and opportunities in order to deliver compliant, quality and value for money arrangements on behalf of ODI.

Summary:
The HALO Trust are looking for an experienced and driven Philanthropy and Grants Manager to lead and develop high value relationships with philanthropic donors, with a focus on Trust and Foundations (and potentially corporates).
The Global Philanthropy Team works to secure support for the delivery of vital projects to save lives and protect livelihoods in conflict affected countries around the world, as well as build organisational resilience and support innovative areas of work. HALO’s philanthropic income has grown significantly in recent years, driven by introductions from our network of trustees, ambassadors and advocates and our focus on strategic and transformational partnerships. While the role is likely to focus on Trusts and Foundations (and potentially corporates) due to our networked approach and the strategic and interconnected nature of our partnerships, supported by networks of advocates, we do not overly separate relationships between Trusts/Foundations, corporates and HNWIs. Russia’s invasion has resulted in mine laying and explosive contamination on a scale not seen in Europe since the Second World War, including across vast tracts of farmland. This prevents agricultural production, which is critical to Ukraine’s economy and global food security. Across seven regions, more than 1,000 local Ukrainian staff have already enabled the removal of more than 19,000 explosive items and the clearance of more 3.1 million m2 of land- bringing safety to communities and supporting Ukraine’s economic recovery.
True peace cannot come until land is safe. HALO’s work to clear the deadly debris of war is the first step towards recovery and reconstruction. And the return of hope.
About the role:
The HALO Trust has more than doubled in size over the last eight years by growing support from both Governments and philanthropic donors. Global income from philanthropic donors (including the US) has significantly increased over the past five years – from circa £4 million to £15 million in 2022/23 and reaching a further peak of £44 million in 2023/24 in response to exceptional donor support for Ukraine. Unpinning this is growth in six and seven figure partnerships with major donors, corporates and foundations, initiated by our exceptionally well-connected network of trustees and ambassadors - and nurtured by our committed and professional global philanthropy team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead growth within a portfolio of high value (six and potentially seven figure) relationships by providing excellence in supporter stewardship and through the development and delivery of relationship strategies, in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy and Head of Global Grant Partnerships
- Support senior HALO staff, advocates and trustees to engage and inspire individuals linked to agreed relationships
- Work with international programme teams to ensure the development of high-quality proposals and reports to tight deadlines

Essential Requirements:
- Three years' experience of personally leading successful relationships with high value philanthropic donors (Trust and Foundations, corporates or high net worth individuals or equivalent), including those giving at the six or seven figure level
- Experience of building effective relationships with advocates linked to philanthropic donors
- An excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with staff and colleagues in different cultural environments
- Outstanding written skills with the ability to work with programme and finance colleagues to design robust project proposals, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation
- Confident in working with financial information including project budgets
- Excellent written and verbal skills with strong attention to detail
- Outstanding interpersonal skills including ability to demonstrate tact, sophistication and gravitas
- Experience of working with a fundraising database to maximise relationship development
- A commitment to HALO’s mission and objectives
- Strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to articulate HALO’s various programmes and strategies in a compelling way

SCEC was founded over twenty years ago to provide learning enrichment opportunities to primary school children in disadvantaged communities in south London. Your Role
The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will help SCEC design and implement an expansion programme as well as coordinating the delivery of the existing schemes via our school partners. You will also serve as a trusted partner to the Board in the administration of the charity.
