In 2021 during the pandemic, our play ‘Sugar’ was commissioned for BBC iPlayer and was programmed on Way Out TV directly into 54k prison cells.

The Role

As Programme Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of the Tree Aid portfolio – including in francophone West Africa, so being able to speak French is a strong advantage.

Supported by two Programme Officers (to be line managed by you), and overseeing the delivery of some projects yourself, you will work with UK and Regional and country office Programme and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning staff to track delivery and reporting on Tree Aid projects, reporting any major issues and successes to the Head of Programme Management.

As Programme Manager, you will be expected to:

•Line manage programme officers, to monitor – and directly support where necessary – projects, in being on-track with their delivery in terms of donor compliance, timeframe, budget and objectives

•Provide backstopping to specific projects within the Tree Aid portfolio, ensuring that they too are on-track

•Act as a focal point for donors where it is necessary in managing project contracts

•Support the Head of Programme Management in improving Programme Management systems and processes and raising any major project issues

About You

As Programme Manager, you will have a wealth of experience in project/contract management ideally in an international development organisation.

The Psychotherapy Service provides predominantly longer-term therapeutic support of a year or more, depending on how the work is funded, to an average of 130 unique individuals per year.  The current team of 10 are made up of 4 senior therapists (reporting to the postholder), 4 therapists and 2 honoraries in training, the majority of whom are Arts therapists and work within a psychodynamic and/or systemic model.

You will work psychodynamically, champion our trauma informed approach including our reflective practice model and have the opportunity to influence and shape the development of the psychotherapy service.  Leading the small team, you will provide clinical leadership and be Safeguarding lead, ensuring we continue to provide high quality psychotherapy services.  We are offering the role at 4-5 days per week, working in a hybrid manner flexibly. You can also hold your own small case load of clients, supervisees and/or consultancy work within the role.

This is a unique and specialist role and we recognise that you may have more experience in one clinical area or client group than another, given the breadth of our work and whilst you may be experienced in working psychodynamically as a therapist and as a line manager, you may be newer to leading a service for example. Or you may have a great deal of other experience and understanding of the needs of our clients from other work.  We are flexible to develop the right candidate who is passionate about improving the lives of autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their family members.

Overall purpose

Your primary responsibility will be to lead Breaking Barriers’ employment programme in Birmingham and the West Midlands, and support the Senior Employment Services Manager and Director of Services in ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in the support we provide to clients.  

Working closely with the Senior Employment Services Manager, you will take ownership of delivery within this region and lead on the delivery of the contract, including maintaining effective external stakeholder relationships and providing accurate and timely reporting. Lived experience would be helpful but is not essential.  

In addition to exceptional people skills, you will be a strong communicator and possess meticulous attention to detail. You will be confident working autonomously, helped by excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and cope with interruptions.

You should have at a demonstrable track record of transferrable work experience in coordinating service delivery, projects or programmes, or another relevant field. Equally important is a demonstrable commitment to working with marginalised populations who face barriers to employment, particularly refugees. As a Youth Development Lead – Enterprise, your mission is to be the driving force behind young entrepreneurs' success stories. The Enterprise programme’s aim is to support young people interested in self-employment to explore and test their ideas, write business plans and start their own businesses or achieve alternative outcomes in education, training, volunteering or work.

You'll be the guiding light for a caseload of young people, helping them successfully launch their business ideas and work towards those vital business start targets. We also won’t have you sitting still as travel will be required, exploring your local area to assist in the programme delivery of our Exploring Enterprise course as needed. The delivery can be a mix of online, in-centre or out in the community.

Crafting robust and viable business plans will be your forte. Cash flow forecasts, personal survival budgets, and sector-specific insights are all part of your toolkit. Plus, your knack for providing positive and constructive feedback will help these ideas flourish. Funding applications? You've got it covered!

We are looking for a Centre Coordinator to join our team in our Newcastle Centre. In this role, you will provide a warm and welcoming reception for young people, staff, and visitors over the phone and in person, so if you are approachable, passionate, and non-judgemental, this could be your role.

You will indirectly support young people by ensuring that our Newcastle Centre operates safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing delivery space, facilities compliance and controlling office equipment and supplies. Having previous administrative experience is beneficial but not essential.

To be successful in this role, you must have a good understanding of the challenges young people within our target groups face, to assist them when they arrive in our Centre. In this role no two days are the same, you get to be involved with many different functions of the Trust and interact with everyone who works in the Newcastle Centre, this is why planning and organisation skills are a must.

Ideally you will have already worked in the charity sector and are able to demonstrate experience in leading a team to secure an annual income in excess of £1m across various funding streams.

You should be confident in your ability to set ambitious goals and high standards - and be capable and experienced in leading and supporting a team to achieve both the goals and the standards. You will have ultimate responsibility for leading on both identifying and creating a pipeline of TFL funding streams to meet our annual income target.

As the lead for the TFL team, you must be confident in your ability to communicate our case for support to your team, and to both our internal and external stakeholders, ensuring our proposals are compelling, well thought out and deliver value and impact for both our funding partners and TCV.

We would expect you to be skilled and experienced in writing compelling funding applications and be able to critique and act as a sounding board for your teams own individual applications.
