Our Service Transformation Lead is instrumental in enabling us to meet this aim, by delivering a transformational shift in how people affected by blood cancer become aware of, access and trust the portfolio of valued products and services we provide.
This is a relatively new role – the permanent post holder has held the role for two months and laid some foundations, and is now looking for a 13-month maternity cover. We are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to embed this new role and team in the organisation, and ensure our service transformation programme (made up of four key workstreams) is strategically aligned, working on scalable and sustainable products and services that meet user needs and strategic goals.
Expected travel for this role is approximately 2-4 visits to the office per month. Frequent travel to the office will be required during busier periods.

The Campaign calls on Government to collaborate with Disabled People's Organisations to achieve these crucial changes.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as Company Secretary for board and committee meetings - Organise meetings, planning up to a year in advance and working with trustees to ensure availability

In your role of Communications Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of WFSA’s objectives by helping to implement advocacy and communications strategies.

Additional information

Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) is an international non-governmental organisation which works to amplify the voices of rural women globally. Our small Central Office team work with member organisations and individuals in the UK and around the world to ensure that rural women are recognized for their critical importance in society, represented, and have a platform to influence policy makers. We are looking to appoint a Communications Officer for the equivalent of 4 days per week (28 hours) to work alongside our current one-day per week social media Communications Officer to expand engagement and attract new members.
The role is to build the strength of ACWW’s communications, including website content, social media, and written copy, and help highlight the advocacy and projects work done by the organisation. This will involve building relevant and engaging content and working with other members of our team to build and deliver a successful digital strategy and contribute to our bi-annual printed magazine.

THE ROLE
This role at The Girls’ Network, will be responsible for overseeing the charity’s finance, operations, HR, governance, and compliance functions. Key Activities
Leadership and Governance
- Support the organisation in reviewing and implementing improved systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- As a Senior Management Team (SMT) member, take a leading role in The Girls' Network's strategic and operational leadership.
- Provide expert support and guidance to the CEO on legal and governance duties as a charity.
- Work with the CEO and Chair of Finance and Audit Committee to set agendas and lead on producing papers for the quarterly Finance, Audit and Risk Committee meetings and contribute to Board papers.
- Responsible for management of the organisational risk register.
- Lead the annual business planning and reporting cycle.
- Act as lead advisor for legal compliance, managing external legal advice as needed.
- Line manage, support, and develop the Finance and Operations team.
- Represent The Girls’ Network at external events and collaborating with key stakeholders.
Finance
- Ensure consistent delivery and quality of finance operations, including transactions processing, management accounts, budgets, and annual accounts.
- Lead on the financial aspects of fundraising, contract management, and funder reporting.
- Oversee statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with charity and accounting standards.
- Maintain internal controls to protect assets, prevent fraud, and ensure business continuity.
Human Resources and Working Practices
- Review HR function and establish appropriate in-house or outsourced support as required.
- Manage HR issues with internal or external advisors as needed.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of HR processes, including recruitment, induction, payroll, pensions, and staff training and development.
- Lead on the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) work plan in collaboration with SMT and staff groups.
- Have oversight of policy development and implementation related to The Girls’ Network operations.
IT, Facilities, and Business Support
- Oversee CRM and digital platforms to ensure effective data management and operational efficiency.
- Oversee information management strategy, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data security.
- Ensure IT infrastructure and support services are fit for purpose, working with the Office Manager and outsourced providers.
- Manage office operations, including facilities, leases, and contract reviews.
- Ensure active management and periodic review of support contracts across HR, IT, and Facilities.
