Job Summary
Work as a team to support the Diocese of London in safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults in line with both UK legislation and House of Bishops Guidance. Responds well to safeguarding allegations and concerns, management of risk and making the church a safer place in line with the Church of England National Safeguarding Standards.
Job responsibilities
Casework

Respond to concerns and allegations of harm, working with statutory agencies; and protection of those who work with children and vulnerable adults in line of the House of Bishops Guidance.

Acting as a contact point for those in church and statutory agencies, provide advice on all safeguarding matters, ensuring the DST is operating in line with the law, government guidance and national practice guidance from the House of Bishops. Ensure that safeguarding procedures are carried out throughout the process, with appropriate liaison with statutory agencies.

Ensure appropriate support for alleged victims and their families and respondents and their families, throughout an investigation and thereafter.

Maintain practices standards in all case work, ensuring five key principles underpin all adult safeguarding work, human rights and have due regard to mental capacity and acting in the best interests of those in need of support. Supporting practice and policy development around case management safeguarding processes.

Work with individuals who come to our attention to ensure appropriate risk assessment and risk management plans to set boundaries within a church setting; for those who are convicted of an offence, or where there are continuing unresolved concerns regarding risks to others.

Work with statutory agencies, including attending appropriate strategy meetings, case conferences as arranged by statutory agencies or requested by the Casework Manager or Head of Safeguarding.

Ensure that referrals to the DBS for barring from work with children or vulnerable adults and reports to the Charities Commission are submitted in line with statutory guidance.

Ensure that the Bishop of London, area Bishop, Archdeacon and Head of Safeguarding and Case Work Manager are always informed when an allegation of abuse is made against a church officer. To manage case work within legal parameters and in line with the House of Bishops Guidelines.
General

Provide professional safeguarding advice and undertake pro-active relationship management to ensure parishes and worshipping communities are aware of their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and adults who may be at risk of abuse or neglect; to keep them abreast of policy and practice developments.

Under the direction of the Safer Churches Programme Manager to undertake strategic safeguarding projects and improvement work including polices and projects in line with identified business needs and operational plans. Developing initiatives to support the effective implementation across your designated area in order to ensure excellent safeguarding practices across the Diocese.

Person Specification
Essential

A social work qualification recognised by the Health and Care Professional Council, or a similar qualification in a related area/profession, or experience.

Specific training in a variety of aspects of child or adult safeguarding.

Your role

Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the UK’s biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. For 11 years, it has been transforming the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition through volunteer led Dementia Friends Sessions and tailored resources for organisations. The programme supports individuals and organisations to understand more about dementia and inspires them to take meaningful action to bring help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.
This varied role is all about engaging volunteers, organisations and other internal and external stakeholders with this flagship programme. The role will work across a specified region to recruit, engage, train and support Dementia Friends Ambassadors (DFAs) volunteers. It will support development of new learning resources for programme routes and work with teams across Alzheimer’s Society to support them to use to all programme routes to build relationships and deliver impact.

About you
We are looking for an empathetic and organised volunteer manager who loves to engage and inspire people. The Dementia Friends Engagement Officer will work closely with teams across the Society to ensure that the Dementia Friends Programme is integrated into all of the work that Alzheimer’s Society does and is seen as a force for change. You’ll have excellent project management and IT skills including using all Microsoft packages and experience of using databases to record and report on data.

The aim of our InterAction project is to support asylum seekers, refugees and migrants to make informed decisions and overcome the difficulties they are facing and integrate successfully into their communities in the North East. Job Purpose
The Director of Finance, Operations & Compliance will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, working to ensure the impact, sustainability, diligence and productivity of the organisation, with a commitment to organisational transformation within the framework of a values-led approach to people and culture.

Working with the Director of Programme Delivery, provide financial resource and support to the management of the former GB Homes asset portfolio, developing appropriate reporting mechanisms that provide data which can be included into the combined budgeting and reporting of Habitat GB

Accountable for integration and ongoing provision of the operational requirements of the GB Homes subsidiary, including insurance, technology, and communications requirements.
Fundraising & Programmes support:

Work closely with the Directors of Fundraising & Partnerships, and of Impact & Influence to set ambitious and achievable targets across restricted and unrestricted fundraising, track performance, and ensure high quality forecasting, reporting and budget management.

Be responsible for the development and oversight of policies, protocols and systems required for restricted fund management which align with Habitat for Humanity International and external donor requirements.

Work collaboratively across Habitat GB to agree service delivery expectations and ensure the timely provision of relevant inputs from the Finance, Operations & Compliance team across partnership and programme cycles. For example, audit or financial reporting requirements from donors, up to date policies, review of proposal documents, grants and contract agreements.

Work closely with the Directors of Programme Delivery & Retail to ensure Habitat GB has the specialist knowledge and financial skills relevant to our diverse types of programmes, including a new and growing retail operation, as well as construction project delivery.
Risk Management and Compliance:

About the role
This role is part of a project funded by the Justice Together Initiative working in conjunction with a number of partners across London including Young Roots, Centrepoint, CARAS, Enfield Social Services, SRLA and Citizens UK. The purpose of the role is to help children, young people and families understand their position and legal rights in relation to immigration and support them to take steps to realise their rights. The role involves the provision of one-off asylum, immigration and nationality law advice and follow-up work and the wider provision of legal education sessions and documentation to increase understanding and knowledge. This role is part of an immigration legal advice team, which seeks to get high-quality immigration legal advice into communities and to those who would otherwise be unable to access it.

The role involves creating positive relationships with young people and involvement in promoting youth-led change.

We are seeking our first Philanthropy Manager to cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of donors and prospective donors (including alumni and other individuals, companies and charities) to generate major gifts £10,000 - £1 million+ for the Trust.
The successful candidate will join a small Executive Team of two (Director and Stewardship Officer) and work closely with our newly appointed Chair (from 6 July 2025), the Board of Trustees, and members of its sub-committee for Alumni Relations, Fundraising and Communications.
The first Kennedy Scholars departed for Harvard and MIT in 1966. In 2026 we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of this significant milestone in our history. The impact of this life-changing opportunity over the past 60 years will feature strongly in our new fundraising campaign.
Reporting to: Director of the Kennedy Memorial Trust (KMT)
Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week. We understand that full-time hours may not suit all candidates, so there is some flexibility in the hours and work schedule.

Compensation: Salary £45,000 FTE, 30 days holiday plus bank hols (FTE) and 8% employer pension contribution after 3 months’ service
Location: Home-based but within easy access to London. The post holder can work on a hybrid basis, combining predominately home-working with regular in-person meetings in London. Travel from home to London for work and meetings will be paid in accordance with any expenses policies in force at the time.
The role involves some travel, in addition to the London working requirement, for meetings/events with donors, scholars, trustees and other stakeholders – ie monthly within the UK and twice a year to the US. There will also be occasional evening and weekend commitments.

About the Kennedy Memorial Trust
The Kennedy Memorial Trust funds exceptional UK students to pursue graduate studies at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Established as a ‘living memorial’ to President Kennedy following his assassination, the Trust has supported around 600 Kennedy Scholars since the first cohort in 1966. In addition to the scholarships, the Trust manages and maintains a memorial at Runnymede in Surrey.
The Trust prides itself on the talent and service of the candidates it selects. Following their time at Harvard or MIT, scholars have gone on to play leading roles in the UK and across the world, in public service, the law, science/technology, health, education, business, charities, the arts and media. The Trust is a registered charity (number 234715) and is responsible for the Kennedy Memorial Fund. In accordance with the Deed, Trustees are appointed by the UK Prime Minister, the Presidents of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or by the President of the United States. Originally funded by public donation, the Trust has developed a medium-scale fundraising programme over the last decade and is now planning a more ambitious campaign as the foundation for its future development.
The role
1. Fundraising activity
Contribute to the development of the new fundraising strategy.
Research, identify and pursue fundraising opportunities that meet the Trust’s strategic objectives.
Lead one-on-one and small group meetings with Trustees and key supporters to identify, develop and deliver fundraising objectives.
Assist Trustees in developing and maintaining their portfolios of prospects and donors.
Write compelling fundraising proposals and applications for funding, including bespoke proposals tailored to specific individuals.
Initiate and nurture relationships with potential high-level donors aiming to establish a strong and long-term philanthropic relationship
Lead one-on-one and small group meetings with high-level donors and potential donors and ask them for significant financial contributions.
Maintain and develop professional, trusted and productive relationships with current and past donors, and with a range of priority stakeholders.
Use appropriate and effective negotiation skills to motivate and guide donors to make gifts at a high level.
2. Processes and Procedures
Ensure the Trust is compliant with all relevant aspects of the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and the Charity Commission.
Maintain a professional approach to handling sensitive and confidential information, complying with privacy and data protection legislation.
Maintain the Trust’s suite of policies and procedures related to fundraising and donor engagement.
Actively engage in external networks to identify new prospective donors.
Contribute to monthly and quarterly fundraising performance reports and present progress to the trustee board and its committe
Accurately record donor interactions in the CRM database and contribute to improving data management and analysis processes.
Regularly update the Executive team on fundraising activities and seek their input and support as needed.
Work closely with the Stewardship Officer to develop and implement solicitation and stewardship plans for donors and prospects.
Participate in team decision-making by suggesting creative solutions and engaging in strategic planning discussions.
Any other duties which may be required by the Director.

Experience and education required:
Experience of professional fundraising, with a track record of successfully securing major (£10k+) gifts from individuals, Foundations and businesses.
Educated to degree level
Experience of delivering a fundraising programme and pipeline to meet financial targets.
Experience identifying, negotiating and managing resource requirements in support of fundraising activity
Experience of having worked with high-level donors
Demonstrable understanding of higher education in UK and US
Demonstrable understanding of data protection/ Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and the Charity Commission.
High computer literacy in standard office packages and experience in using databases.

Digital Marketing

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a talented, creative and dedicated marketing professional to join our small but powerful team to help deliver our new strategy.
As a new role in the hospice’s Fundraising & Marketing Team, the Marketing & Communications Manager will join an existing team of fundraising managers working to maximise awareness and support of the hospice in order to ensure its long-term sustainability.
The postholder will be responsible for the operational management, development and delivery of marketing and communications to support the hospice’s income generation strategy, including line management of the Website Editor and Marketing & Communications Officer, and external agencies.
The successful candidate will be an experienced marketing professional, used to working closely with income generating teams. They will oversee the delivery of a compelling programme of multi-channel communications with the sole aim of increasing the awareness of and support for the charity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing and communications planning, delivery and performance management
- Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Marketing, develop a clear marketing and communications plan to support the strategies for fundraising, retail and volunteering.
- Implement, monitor and analyse marketing and communications plans and budgets, producing impactful insights and reports to guide our ever-evolving work through all communication channels.
- Develop and maximise the marketing mix, identifying innovative initiatives and working across online and offline channels, to best support the promotion of all income generation activities across the hospice.
- Ensure compliance to industry standards and best practice at all times.
- Support the fundraising strategy in proactively researching and targeting audiences across the catchment area to ensure a broadening of reach and awareness of the breadth of the hospice’s services.

Operational delivery

- Work closely with the Marketing & Communications Officer to oversee delivery of a planned (and reactive) social media programme, maximising opportunities to increase our profile, using online planning and Analytical tools to plan and report on digital channels to improve targeting and supporter journeys.
- Work closely with the Website Editor to oversee and optimise the KHH website: creating and updating content for the charity and clinical colleagues, including the EPiC Resource Centre.
- Work with the Website Editor and Supporter Care team to ensure that integration of the CRM (Beacon) and website is optimised, to maximise supporter journeys, supporter preference compliance and insights.
- Work together with relevant charity and clinical colleagues and our designer to prepare, design and deliver high-quality marketing materials.
- Work with the Marketing & Communications Officer to oversee the production of the monthly supporter e-newsletters.
- Alongside your immediate team, manage production of the bi-annual Katharine House magazine from start to finish, with content and thematic planning with fundraising and volunteering managers.
- Lead on content creation to use across the charity. Continue to manage and regularly update our library (filed, captioned, tagged) of patient, staff and volunteer stories with consent, quality photography and video content for use across all of income generation.
- Manage and oversee the charity’s online channels including website, ensuring accurate, up-to-date and engaging content, and ensure all online advertising (inc. paid social media adverts), Google AdWords grant and SEO are effectively managed.
- Liaise with clinical colleagues at our NHS partner OUH to support key marketing, messaging and communication needs, ensuring our brand is correctly used.
Leadership and people management
- Meet regularly with the Website Editor and Marketing & Communications Officer, fostering positive communication and engagement. Carry out monthly one-to-ones, setting quarterly objectives and recognising training needs where necessary.
- As a member of the management team, represent the culture and values of the hospice and charity sector.
