Job Summary

This role is an expansion of our employment pathway and will be our first dedicated employment coach for our students.

PiP has developed a unique reputation for our experience and quality of employment support for adults with learning disabilities. This has led to an increased number of referrals with a focus on employment, an expansion of our in-house social enterprise capacity, and more employers keen to work alongside us to diversify their staff base.

PiP is keen to respond to and meet this demand. This role for us is the next step in doing so, allowing us to increase our job coaching capacity and providing more dedicated resource for students on their employment journey. As to date our coaching has been delivered across our existing staff team.

What You’ll Need

• Working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar client group
• Experience of training, education, or employment support delivery
• Experience of job coaching or supporting work placements

• Able to establish, develop and maintain constructive and professional relationships, both internal and external, with a wide variety of professional and carers

What We Offer:

· The salary for this role is circa £29,500 dependent on experience with incremental pay progression.

You'll get 25 days holiday + bank holidays ever year. We're closed for Christmas but the rest of the year you may take leave whenever you wish.

MAIN TASKS AND DUTIES:

• To liaise regularly with all New Pathways volunteers
• To provide support and advice to volunteers

About Mental Health Innovations (MHI)

Founded in November 2017 following the success of The Royal Foundation’s ‘Heads Together’ campaign, it launched its first product, Shout, in 2019. Shout is a free, confidential, 24/7 text message service for anybody to text when they may be struggling with anxiety, loneliness or depression through to self harm or suicidal thoughts.

Job Purpose:

To support the recruitment and admission of new volunteers, promoting volunteering opportunities and completing background checks.

Key Responsibilities 

• Ask for and check references for new volunteers
• Coordinate and attend volunteer recruitment events, such as Universities; organise volunteers and staff to support
• Follow up with prospective volunteers to encourage them to apply
• Work with the Communications team to promote volunteering opportunities online
• Coordinate and run regular information sessions for prospective volunteers to explain the volunteering opportunities
• Initiate contact with volunteers and trainees to process DBS/PVG/police vetting checks as required
• Check the status of volunteers who are part of the relevant Update Service
• Proactively monitor and follow up on the progress of checks to keep on top of weekly targets
• Coordinate video calls to verify ID documents, checking documents with utmost attention to detail
• Handle queries on checks, and troubleshoot cases such as missing documentation or anything outside the accepted DBS/PVG/police vetting procedure
• Liaise with our selected external provider for any queries 
• Escalate disclosures to a panel for review, if required
• Accurately update outcome information for each volunteer
• Ensure the confidentiality of volunteer information is maintained and securely discard volunteer documentation once checks are complete 
• Utilise tools such as Jira, Salesforce and effectively
• Provide regular progress reports to the Volunteer Admissions Lead and Head of Volunteers
• Undertake other ad-hoc tasks commensurate with the role as necessary

This is an exciting opportunity to join Project Indigo, an LGBTQIA+ youth project run out of Off Centre at Family Action that fosters a safe space and sense of community amongst LGBTQIA+ young people in Hackney.  We support young people aged 16 to 25 through offering them a weekly facilitated social space and 1-to-1 support and advice sessions.  Having run for almost a decade, Project Indigo is well known in Hackney, and works alongside local LGBTQIA+ projects, as well as mental health and youth services.  Project Indigo maintains a youth-led and person-centred approach, with this role being developed in consultation with our members to address the barriers they face in accessing training and development opportunities.

We are seeking a Peer Mentoring Coordinator to develop and manage our new LGBTQIA+ Peer Mentoring Programme, training and supporting Project Indigo members to train as mentors and deliver mentoring sessions with younger LGBTQIA+ people in the local community.  You will enrich Project Indigo’s holistic offer by providing young people with the opportunity to access training, qualifications and work experience while receiving high quality support tailored to their needs.

Off Centre is a service that provides a range of targeted mental health focused support services to young people aged 16 to 25 who registered with a City and Hackney GP.  These include: individual, counselling and psychotherapy, individual and group art psychotherapy, key-work support, out of hours drop-in service on Thursday evenings, targeted provision for children and young people of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage (ACH), and an Information and Advice provision.

Main Responsibilities:

· You will develop and lead Project Indigo’s new Peer Mentoring Programme.

· You will understand young mentors’ needs and goals, and provide high quality supervisory support throughout the training and mentoring process.

· You will develop a structure for the Mentoring programme, consulting with relevant organisations, finding appropriate partners, and keeping accurate records to monitor progress for administrative and evaluative purposes.

· You will offer sensitive supervisory support to young LGBTQIA+ mentors, supporting their diverse need by maintaining an empathetic, intersectional and youth-led approach.

· You will be a confident communicator with proven experience of working in a supportive role with LGBTQIA+ young people[SR3]  and/or evidence of in-depth knowledge of issues relating to LGBTQIA+ young people, in particular trans and gender diverse young people.

· You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage your time and workload effectively.

My Life My Choice (MLMC) is a multi-award-winning self-advocacy charity uniquely run by and for people with learning disabilities, founded in 1998.  The charity delivers a diverse range of innovative user led projects that enhance and empower the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire.  These established projects include a fee earning training and consultancy Professional Services team, the gig buddy and travel buddy schemes, a nightclub, campaigns and self-advocacy groups.

We are now looking for a committed individual who will enjoy a diverse and challenging role. The role holder will work across a variety of our projects. This includes working with the Travel Buddy Coordinator to ensure the delivery and growth of a high-quality programme of travel support for our membership.  Additionally, the successful individual will join the staff team in delivering self-advocacy groups, facilitate Quality Checks (peer inspections of local authority supported homes), and lead our crucial engagement with Oxfordshire County Council (OCC).  The work with OCC involves supporting and coordinating our members with a learning disability to effectively contribute and have their voices heard at high level meetings. 

This post calls for an individual with excellent project coordination, administration, and communication skills. We need a resilient individual who thrives on regular face-to-face interaction with beneficiaries and is as equally comfortable with professionals across the sector. The Minerva London service provides holistic, trauma-informed support for women in touch with the Criminal Justice System, through dedicated one to one support, safer women’s centre spaces and specialist interventions and partnerships.

As the Minerva Activities Coordinator you will be responsible for enhancing the offer to women referred into the Minerva service by supporting them to engage with their local women’s centre provision. You will be based at your regional women’s centre five days a week, as the first point of contact for women entering the centre space or contacting the service via the centre helpline. As Activities Coordinator you will create and deliver a relevant and lively activities programme for women to attend, in partnership with Minerva’s specialist delivery partners.

• You are an excellent relationship builder who can warmly work with women
• You will bring experience of supporting vulnerable communities and have good working knowledge about safeguarding and risk management and bring an eagerness to learn and develop new skills.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Coordinator to support our care teams in delivering a high-quality family support service in the region, working with families and professionals to ensure the families we support have access to the services they need.

This role is an opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the peer support service, you will have the opportunity to use your own personal experience of mental health challenges to coordinate the running of a Peer Support Service in Milton Keynes, provide information and guidance, and implement referral pathways to the wider Recovery Service.

Our peer support and recovery services are a key element of the services we offer, and we are looking for someone who can use their own lived experiences to provide support to help individuals achieve their goals.
